Apolline Ratings and Reviews
Most accommodating to our group of friends - even as 5 of our 7 arrived an hour before our reservation. Sat us right down, took our cocktail orders, & started us of with some sharing hors d'oeuvres. Hospitality continued throughout our long & leisurely evening together. Fine cocktails with generous pours. Well designed and very well executed menu and dishes. My scallops and shrimp were great. Very high reviews of a friend's lamb ragu, too. Overall, a super night shared among our buddies.
This was my first time here but won’t be my last. We tried the maple Old Fashioned and WOW. We also had scallops and the pork chop entrees and sampled 3 of the desserts. Service was excellent, food was fantastic, and the drinks were perfect. I can’t wait to go again!
Nice looking joint and friendly service. Found the menu to be very limited in available items and over-priced for the value received. My additional guests were generally pleased with their meal (taste, flavor). My lamb (with pasta) dish was pretty "simple" compared to the description and price and oh yeah it was very hard to find and enjoy the very small pieces of lamb in the dish... "where's the lamb?"!
Overall, an excellent dining experience. We were in town for Tulane Homecoming/Family weekend and had dinner after the football game Saturday evening. It is a hidden gem! No one was familiar with the restaurant except for my son's Chemistry professor who said it was a great choice. We were not disappointed! The hostess, waitstaff and food was excellent. Highly recommend.
We were referred to this gem of a restaurant by the former pastry chef, Sharon Aydlette. Upon our arrival, they brought us complimentary prosecco. The waitress spent a good bit of time talking to us about the menu items. We were there for a quick bite before going to a concert and didn't want to eat huge meals. She suggested the chargrilled oysters, beef carpaccio, and the wedge salad. Perfection is the only word that would best describe this meal! After we were done, they presented us with a complimentary praline bread pudding. Decadent and simply amazing! Sharon was so sweet to let them know we were coming. The extra perks were very kind and definitely appreciated. We will be back for sure!!! What a hidden gem in a town full of famatastic cuisine.
A friend and I had a nice lunch outside when the weather was nice. Our waitress, Rachel, was very friendly without being too chatty. She was knowledgeable about the menu and helpful when deciding what to order. First class, casual, and unpretentious dining establishment.
Husband and I looking for a nice venue away from the beaten path for "date night". Apolline was excellent choice. The quail was superb. Our service was outstanding. Ambiance was perfect. In a city known for it's abundance of great restaurant venues, Apolline deserves to be right up there.
When I made the reservation, I noted that we were celebrating our 47th anniversary. We were greeted with "congratulations - Happy Anniversary" and promptly seated. The venue is romantic and charming - typical for New Orleans. The menu was diverse and offered many wonderful choices. We were very pleased with our food. The service was very attentive but not intrusive. We were provided a flute of champagne compliments of the house. All in all a very enjoyable evening. We highly recommend Apolline.
I heard about this place from a film crew who went there to do a story on Bloody Marys
never new you had food. About three weeks ago a man I met said I love to go there when I am in town. So then why are you out town all the time I work for homeland security and have to come here pretty often. He said the pork chops are to die for then his daughter went on about it. That is when I said I need to go so when it was my turn to pick I picked Appoline and the rest is history. Everybody in my party liked the place.
An excellent Old Fashioned. Brilliant sea bass. A very good steak. Perfect service. This is an excellent restaurant. Everyone should avail themselves of the Grouponp, then make this a regular spot. New Orleans has many fine restaurants, and this is one of them.
One of the best dining experiences in a long time, from Rachel our excellent and friendly waitress to the perfectly cooked drum fish and finally topped off with the delicious dessert, a perfect evening! Will definitely be back soon.
The food was very good, but the service was terrible. We intentionally made reservations for right after the restaurant opened, so we could finish our meal before it became busy.
Despite that, we were there for an hour and 33 minutes.
We only ordered appetizers and dessert, but the service was so incredibly slow that we were stuck there long past any reasonable amount of time.
