Dinner was very good and the service was great! The drinks were also very good.
We had a beer at Finkle & Garf and walked over for a yummy dinner at Aperitivo. What a pleasant surprise right here in Gunbarrel! Will recommend it to friends.
Aperitivo's website and menu made my mouth water, so my friend and I were really looking forward to a great dining experience. First off, parking is hard to come by since mosts spots near the restaurant are reserved for the apartment/condo residents. When we first arrived, the host did not seem to care that I'd made an OpenTable reservation (I knew I'd be marked as a no-show and would have to clear that up with OpenTable, which I did.). Our waiter couldn't remember what I'd ordered and had to come back and ask again: side of fruit, not salad; yes, cream with my coffee. I'd made some assumptions about the food and presentation since the chef/owner is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute in Las Vegas, but our sandwiches were just "good," not "fabulous," as I'd hoped. It's a nice neighborhood spot for good eats, but I wouldn't recommend it as a dining destination.
Awesome meal and Brandon was a great waiter. Miguel cooks like an angel and everything was wonderful. We will be back.
Best chef in Boulder
Fantastic food and wine.
Great food at a awesome value!
Very personal waiters and chef!
Loved the Mocktail choices.
Had a great experience. Booked at the last minute and came in with zero expectations. We were blown away with the food and the service.
Awesome meal and fantastic chef
Amazing clam chowder. In fact all the food is superb.
We were there on Cabaret night and it was packed it took over an hour to get served and then we eventually didnt order dinner because they have a one man kitchen and we had already been there over two hours waiting for out apps. Sorry but it is a big fail
Excellent food; friendly service. We were looking for breakfast in this part of Boulder and it was a great find.
We brought my husbands family here and every single one of our meals was outstanding. My MIL said it will be a must stop for their visits from now on. I'm excited to go back for dinner sometime soon. My Bro-in-law said he never new scones could be soft soft and airy. It was the best meal any of us have had in a long time!
The service was excellent. The most bothersome thing was the chairs on the tables (they had been cleaning for opening and we came at 5:30). I felt they should've taken them down immediately when customers entered the restaurant.
Really poor food for the price. Tiny portions. Service was pretty bad too. Will not be back.
The drinks, specifically the winter cosmo, were fantastic!
My wife & I enjoyed date night!
The menu didn't disappoint; she enjoyed the Gnocchi & I the Penang Curry.
Great place & fantastic staff.
A+, we'll sure be back, looking forward to summer menu specials!
Oh my. . . I want this to catch the attention of the owner of Apertivo, because he has a staff that's too small (one waiter, one cook). Lovely menu with good food (scallops are excellent!). However, took about 40 mins. just to be served drinks and apps. At the end of 2.5 hours, my husband still hadn't been served his dinner. It was extremely uncomfortable for everyone. The owner MUST invest in making this restaurant work, or it will go under. The waiter and cook/bartender need more help. Please provide it for them so this restaurant can be a success.
We arrived at 7 pm for our Valentines Day dinner reservations. We ordered the fixed menu and a cocktail. Cocktails arrived but no further contact for 90 minutes except constant “so sorry, we are very busy” however couples arriving after we did were served and gone by the time I went in search of the manager at 8:30 pm. Oh no, are you sure you didn’t already have your appetizers? Yes very sure, we did not even have silverware or napkins. Nearly the last people there and they ran out of most choices for dessert in the fixed menu. We were given a gift certificate for next time, but as much as we like the food, it is really worth a 90 minute wait for food and the frustration? No discount or extra wine offered either. It appears the owners are the waiters, but Id suggest some wait staff hired would allow the management to actually manage. Lovely food but a true disappointment on a special day.
Try the thai curry or the gnocchi! Great food and excellent host.
Awesome food and service. Quiet, bright natural lighting! Reminded me of European luncheon spot!
Cozy atmosphere. Great drinks. Great friendly staff.
This was my first visit to this restaurant and was impressed with the delicious food. The staff is friendly, food tasty and has kind of an upbeat modern feel. My table of 7 for lunch already has intentions to come back for another delicious meal.
The food was delicious and service was great
I absolutely LOVE this restaurant. It is now my favorite place for dinner in Boulder. The food is always fresh, excellently prepared, and delicious. Miguel is a fantastic chef and he and Joseph aim to please. They will happily adjust any menu item to your taste and are so welcoming. It is a pleasure to dine there.
I never write unflattering reviews as I tend to give the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes people have off days and I understand that. But I felt a little strongly about this experience. First- the good: The place is lovely and it was quiet when we got there- in fact, we were the only ones there. The menu had appetizing choices and we were not rushed to order. The servers were friendly. Now, the not so good: We ordered cocktails and were told a few minutes later that the ingredients were unavailable. Okay- that happens. We were told the owner was on the way in and we could find out if he would be able to find the ingredients. We said we’d wait. In the meantime, I received the wrong order and informed the server. By the time I received the corrected order, my friend was done with hers. And she said she had received her order lukewarm. Also- I was asked specifically what type of bread I wanted for the corrected order- and it still came out wrong. Oh well- not that big a deal.
We were told by the server that the owner had arrived and they did not have our cocktail mix available- would we like to order something else? We said no thank you and not 10 minutes later we saw the people seated next to us receive the cocktails we had wanted to order. We asked the server about it when we were paying and was told there was nothing to be done about it since we had said no about ordering an alternative? It was too late? It should never be too late. Very unprofessional. Should have offered us the choice of ordering it.
The food is outstanding This is my new gem.
On our trip to Colorado we found this hidden gem. The service was very pleasant and inviting. The staff was very attentive and quick with our order. My coffee had a great taste and paired very well with my breakfast. Definitely a must dine in again when I’m in town.
The staff and food were amazing. I will definitely recommend this fine establishment to everyone I know. The half chicken and the lobster curry special are so flavorful!!!!
Great food! The service was fast. Whole meal was very tasty. We both had happy hour cocktails and they were to die for. We will definitely come back time and time again. For the price and the amazing food and drinks a total gem in Gunbarrel!!!!
What a great find. We have been seeking a regular place for business luncheons and we have found our PLACE. Nice simple menu with excellent sandwiches and salads daytime. We will go back with the wives for dinner and drinks. Thanks Alex for great service. See you next time.
They were out of things on the menu and the food was not good! The waiter was wonderful.
