   Wonderful, relaxed, and attentive service. This is my second time going to this fabulous restaurant this winter. Both times I have left with only positive feelings about the restaurant. I encourage everyone to give it a try. We were in the tent the first time, and it was warm and perfectly atmospheric. This week, we were inside the restaurant and it was lively. Not a ton of room, but just enough. Both times, the service was impecable. Such pleasant and friendly staff, which always colors one’s experience. I aplaude the new owners for making dinner such an enjoyable experience. Thank you to the wait-staff for making our experience perfect! The food was great, the wine enjoyable. Entirely a positive experience.

   Dined in the outdoor tent. We had the whipped feta appetizer which was delicious. We also ordered the cioppino and the braised beef. The soup was good, but beef was on the dry side. Mike our server was excellent, attentive but not overbearing.

   We celebrated our 30 the anniversary here . Aiden took good care of us . The chef was busy and yet our meals came perfect and timely . The other waiter was helpful as well . Great food . Quaint little dining spot . Loved that the bill came in a book that you could add a note to ! Wonderful experience!

   We had a great evening! We sat at the bar where Graham was our sever. He made a special mixed tea drink for us to try and we loved it so much that we both had to get one. We got the stuffed mushrooms which were okay, but I got the Ragu and my partner got the beef Bourgogne and both were absolutely amazing. Tiny and cozy but gives a great date night vibe. We will be back!

   Our experience with just okay. I would give it a C+. The kitchen might have been having an off night. It took us 2 hours from start to finish to have an appetizer and our meal. I actually don't like it when I'm rushed through a restaurant, but this was more about the kitchen being behind rather than creating a slow and unique dining experience. Our waitress seemed to be the only one in the dining room, and she had to work the outdoor tent area as well. Although she was lovely, kind, and very knowledgeable about the menu, one server was not enough to give the kind of service that is expected for the prices that are charged. A nice touch was that the restaurant offered a very small tasting of a sparkling red wine after apologizing that the meal was taking so long. The dining room inside was drafty (cold) and I had to wear my coat during dinner. The restaurant itself is in an old house, so the old, (but inefficient windows) are a part of the charm, but management might want to place a space heater somewhere or offer nice blankets to compensate for the cold in the winter months. As for the dinner itself, I thought both meals were pretty good. However, my husband was disappointed in his because he was expecting a completely different kind of lamb bolognese. He was expecting ground lamb and a red sauce. Instead it was shredded lamb and no sauce. But again, in my opinion quite tasty. I'm not sure we'll go back again, but it might be worth trying out. It is possible we just landed there on a night that was not their best.

    The food was very good. They were out of certain items and we were there at 5pm. The waiter Michael was great. We ate outside, the scraping of the chairs on the stone patio was incredibly loud. Overall we really enjoyed the experience with really good food. I would definitely recommend the restaurant and hope to go there for lunch in the near future.

    Inside the location was great. But that was about it. Unfortunately, the service is the worst I’ve experienced…very nice but extremely slow and unattentive even though there are only 6 tables inside. There were items on the menu that we were told were unavailable, but it took 20 minutes for the server to inform me that the item was unavailable that night. If ordering drinks, order all at once, you are unlikely to get your second drink before you are finished with your meal. And the main dishes are not good. There is some type of thick rubbery cheese that the chef puts on a lot of the main entrees, and it makes the food unpalatable. It looks like a great place, but it unfortunately falls flat.

    Fresh. Elegant. Stylish. I was blown away by this amazing place. Friends, raving about the food, have been converted on the spot. Nestled in a cozy victorian house in Boise's Hyde Park neighborhood (and spilling out into a tent in front), Apericena proves that true sophistication lies in faithfulness to essentials - like freshness, to name just one. From smoked salmon salad with crisp greens, Tuscan ribollita soup to flavorful cioppino, bruschetta with roasted tomatoes and creamy buratta, or succulent boeuf bourguignon, Apericena is a constant source of surprise and delight. It's ideal for dates: comparing tastes is almost mandatory. Wines are a variety of styles from France, Italy, and Spain, chosen to complement the dishes without being expensive. (The highest price for a glass of wine is $15 for a tempranillo from Rioja.) And don't get me started on the desserts, like Tiramisu, as rich and creamily luscious as any I had in Italy... Enjoy with an apres-diner espresso and you will leave feeling warm, happy, and fulfilled.

    We had the 2023 Valentine's prix fixe menu and reservation set for 7:30. We were finally seated about 8:00pm. There is no waiting area, so it was tight quarters for a bit. That said: the host was charming. It took about 15 minutes to get the first course (Escargot in browned butter, Dijon, roasted garlic, fresh herbs, toasted sourdough). When it did arrive, it was very good. Beautifully prepared and presented. Next course (Seafood linguini with mussels, clams, scallops, prawns, roasted garlic, in a white wine pan sauce) took another 20 minutes to arrive. The seafood and sauce were very good, but the noodles were from a box and had a texture closer to Pad Thai noodles than egg noodles. The main (Braised beef: pasture-raised beef, petit carrots, mashed potatoes, au jus) took another 15 minutes. The beef was okay, albeit a bit under-seasoned. It tasted like mom's good-old pot roast. The potatoes had a very odd texture to them, as if they'd not been made with any butter or cream or cooked to the right softness. The carrots had great flavor, but were overcooked - too soft for such a nice product. The au jus was under-seasoned pan drippings. Not a great course. Dessert, again, took around 15-20 minutes to arrive. It was well worth the wait. The Fromage Blanc Cheesecake (fromage blanc, honey, vanilla bean, créme, and perfectly brûléed) is among the best things I've eaten. Just stunning. I was pausing, eyes shut, as I savored every bite. Truly sublime. All of the wines were exceptional - some really nice pairings. The pre-paid meal and tip, 20% tip meal came to $476.28. That's a big bill for a 2-top in Boise, Idaho. Given the price, I suppose I was expecting each course to be as good as dessert, but that wasn't case. Additionally, given this was a prix fixe menu, I'd expected the courses to come out more smoothly. For 3 courses and dessert, this was a 2.5 hour meal. All that being said: the staff were authentically charming and accommodating.

    Always outstanding- very intimate small restaurant. Our waitress was quick and knowledgeable of the menu. If you go- definitely save room for the dark chocolate cheesecake, it’s bangin’.

    We went for lunch on a Saturday. Grahmm was the only waiter on duty for 6 indoor tables, and he did an excellent job. The food is super fresh, tastes amazing, and is artistically prepared with such attention to detail. There was a long wait between courses. Their prices are pretty high, so not someplace I will go very often, but I do want to go back and try their dinner menu (if I can ever get a table). This place is great for foodies. Plan for at least 2 hrs to enjoy the full experience.
