Aoshima Sushi & Grill
We specialise in authentic traditional tapas, such as Yakitori, Teppanyaki, and fresh Sashimi, with a wide selection of Sake and Japanese drinks to accompany. "Okonomiyaki" is the most famous street food in Japan these days, and in Dublin, you can only try it with us!
Come visit. Eat & drink. Have fun.
Food is excellent. Restaurant itself has a lot of hard surfaces and feels a little bit basic. Air con was on - never a good idea in Ireland at any time of the year never mind January. In fairness staff were very happy to turn it off when asked but by then we were all cold. Lighting a little too bright for me. Music was positively depressing- they really need to do something as about this. Prices are very reasonable and BYOB is great. I hope they address the criticisms because the most important and most difficult thing - the quality of food - is really good. I’d love to go back but will hesitate until they make it just a little cosier.
Never had a bad meal here! Sushi is always fresh & tasty. We always get a few selections of nigiri + a main each. Chicken Katsu Curry is one of our favorites!! Unagi Don and Cha Han are really delicious as well!!
Very disappointing tempura and goyza. Didn’t try any many courses but place seemed very popular so maybe worth trying again.
We went here for my husband's birthday and it was excellent service, fabulous food, and we booked our own private room
Very nice service and great food!
Nice local restaurant with good prices and a nice variety of dishes on the menu
V enjoyable sushi .. which is hard to come by in Dublin. Dumplings also really good.
Food was amazing! Food came out too quick though. Mains came out 4mins after starter!
Excellent restaurant the best Japanese food I have had in Dublin.
Great value for money also
Found the service very poor - long waiting times and mistakes and poor communication. But otherwise the food was great and would return here. I have been during daytime several times and service was much better than at night.
Just an amazing place, with great food and great service! Will be back many many times
Sushi was bland- looked and tasted mass produced. Sashimi was nice. Laksa was tasty but very difficult to eat- served with a soup ladle which you were supposed to use as a spoon- maybe that's a thing? Very little atmosphere. Waitress was obviously new and inexperienced, although sweet and smiley. All in all, it was a fairly flat, functional experience.
Good friendly service and excellent food
Rolls were excellently made and stir fry fish came out hot and promptly
Lovely family gathering in our own room. The children loved sitting at the sunken table & the adults appreciated the clever seating that made it comfortable for us too. Wonderful food, generous portions and great vege/vegan options as well as simple meat options to suit all ages
The food was fine. Nothing to rave about. But I will give it some points for offering a variety of Japanese dishes which is nice. The theme of the resultant is that the 3 chefs came together to conceive of this restaurant. As if that meant some sort of specialty in the menu. I don’t see what’s particularly unique or special other than a menu that offers a wide array of Japanese choices. The service is terrible. The staff is friendly but are overwhelmed and don’t pay attention and forget about you. Our sashimi came out and we had no dipping trays for the soy sauce. We waited for 15 minutes before we finally walked up to our waitress to ask for the dipping tray. Nor did we have plates with which to eat the sashimi. The wait staff seemed to be constantly running back to the round half moon workstation. Or back into the kitchen. At one point two waitresses came out with water but no one asked how our meal was. Disappointing service and food experience.
We enjoyed our dinner but the California Roll and ebi roll were salty and didn't seem very fresh. The be tempura was lovely. Really lovely staff.
Really nice food good but slow service. A good introduction to Japanese food for the younger member of our party
Great service and excellent food! I would have no hesitation in recommending the restaurant.
I have been here a few times and keep coming back as the food is lovely and great value. We normally get a few of the sushi dishes to share but we I have been with a few friends who didn't eat sushi and their terriyaki dishes went down a treat too.
It has never been too busy so we haven't needed to book a table, staff are very friendly and atmosphere is nice and relaxed so you never feel rushed to leave.
Attentive and helpful service, good food.
I would highly recommend Aoshima. The food was simply delicious. The fish was fresh, the prawns were the best I've had in a long time. My son went for the sushi and can't wait to go back for more. We had a very pleasant evening & were very happy with the service & value.
We'll definitely be back. A. Dean
We decided to visit Aoshima for the first time despite it being only five minutes from our house. Why did we wait so long? Everything was excellent including the attitude of the young woman who took our order. The atmosphere was relaxed, the food was precise and even our sleepy grandson was impressed. A rapid return is anticipated.
