Our extensive menu is a collaboration of handed down family recipes from the chef/owner, Romain Bonnans, and classic French fare.
Savor everything from Omelets to Feuille de Brique for brunch. For dinner you might try our Moules Marinieres (a favorite among our customers), a classic Salad Nicoise or a Lobster Risotto, all while enjoying the casual atmosphere. In the summer months, relax in our outdoor garden and experience a little bit of France.

Continues to be the best restaurant in New York City.
Always a very good meal at A.O.C. My "go to dish" is the mussels with their great fries.
Great weekend brunch. Cozy. Very personable service. My out of town girlfriends loved it.
Not a good food experience. After coming back from AOC, both me and my friend couldn't sleep due to a terrible headache. It was definitely food-related, and we suppose it was from the escargots since it's the only dish we shared. That explains 1 star: if there's one thing you don't want when going to a restaurant, it's bad food. By contrast, service was great - I would even say it was superior. As far as we're concerned, though, we won't go back until there's a new chef (the rest of the food was ordinary or lower, so even if we were just unlucky with a bad dish that day, the food in general needs to be very seriously upgraded in our view).
food is quite good, albeit the mussels are very small.
good choice of appetizers and entrees though a bit over-priced.
glasses of wine and cocktails also good but over-priced.
nice atmosphere and local crowd.
I have been here several times and it is always a good experience. The best croque madame and latte! Group of five and everyone was pleased. It was easy to hear each other at the table and we were not rushed. Cocktails were different and all wonderful. The happy hour menu looks like something to try and of course when the weather is warm the outdoor garden is so enjoyable.
What a disappointment, drink took 30 minutes after asking about it 3 times and soured the evening. Wish we ate at the Krusty Krab.
We were celebrating my daughter’s bridal dress shopping at Kleinfields (She did say Yes to the Dress). We had a nice table in the back room. Food was fantastic as with 6 of us we experienced so many dishes: Pain Perdu, Mussels, Salmon, Duck Confit, and Casselout! All outstandingly! Such a gem!
Never disappoints! When I need a night out, whether alone or with a friend, I go to this intimidate hide-a-way for fabulous French food
Really great place! Always a good value and excellent ambience and location. The steak was good but was ordered medium rare and was served medium well. Other than that all good!
Lied about Groupon usage. Claimed it was Nee years eve and will. Of honour groupon purchased even though the fine print said that it can be used any time. Service was also poor even thought we decided to stay, food was way too salty
The food was very good, the waitress was super nice and cordial.
Order came out wrong, they agreed to fix it. Waited 20 mins and was basically the same. Manager was rude and at furst refused to take it off the check and then took it away
, half eaten and then removed from the check! Too bad because it is a lovely, cozy place with good food.
It is worth it, it is AMAZING!!!
They were very busy and literally seemed to have no time if you weren’t a regular. The food was mediocre overall and it was not a great meal/restaurant experience to start our holiday stay in the city.
Super slow service on our food while other tables who were seated after us were served. Plus, my steak was over cooked with room temp pommes frites. I didn't want to mention it at the time as we had waited so long for the food to arrive but that is the impression I took with me. Maybe it was an off night but all it takes is one bad time in this city and especially in the Village which has so many great places.
Great food, good service
Always amazing. The nicest waitress...Stefania!! Lovely.
I loved the calamari. I was less impressed by the chicken and french fries. They were a bit unremarkable for the price of the dish. Might try something more unique next time. Ambiance lovely, and quiet despite a pretty full restaurant.
This is a very cozy cafe featuring French cuisine. The ambience is quite nice with a quiet, candlelit atmosphere. It is more spacious and much quieter than some of the nearby and more notable French restaurants, making it more accessible and in many cases a better choice.
Great all around!
Nice place, feels like an intimate French bistro should feel. We had the cassoulet and the mussels. Both were quite good. Not quite Paris but a great place to spend an evening.
The staff couldn't have been nicer to our rowdy lunch-party of twelve. The food is OK — the oysters were very fresh, we loved the cheese platter, and the floating island — and we had lots of space to move around in. It was warm and dry on a very wet, cold afternoon.
Always enjoy aoc, cozy in winter and great outdoor garden
The food was perfectly okay, but both my guest and I could easily think of another place that we would prefer.
While I've been to AOC many times for dinner (even for New Year's Eve), I'd never been here for brunch. What a pleasant surprise! My friends and I had an 11:30A reservation. The place was almost empty and quiet. Within an hour, it was almost full. The brunch/lunch menu has something for everyone: sandwiches, omelets, etc I had a puff pastry with ham and cheese on a bed of ratatouille. Delish! Definitely will return.
Hands down one of the best beef tartare in the city! This place has quickly become my boyfriend & my favorite date night spots.
As delicious a meal as my friend and I have had in a long time. This old French restaurant has lost nothing. The decor is from another decade, but the traditional French cuisine is outstanding. Looking forward to my next visit and especially the Tatin, which was as perfect as I could have wished.
A great neighbourhood bistro
Will definitely be back next time I’m in NYC
Cold. Host was rude on arrival.
The food and service were excellent. A charming and lovely restaurant, but a little pricey.
I would certainly return, and would enthusiastically recommend this restaurant to my friends--especially if they were not on a budget.
Very good drinks, very good appetizers, very fine entrees, excellent wine card, good coffee, good armagnacs, excellent service!
Absolute favorite restaurant in the city!!!! Never disappoints!!!
The front room has a great bustling bistro vibe.
The back room is much more quiet and great for a nice afternoon when they can open up the garden
The food is very good - and genuine.
You should have a great time here, everything is very well run and professional. If you don’t it’s probably you not them !
We love AOC. Food is always great. My only issue is with the service. Servers need proper training.
Great neighborhood restaurant. Lovely ambience. During the warm months try the outdoor space.
We had the most fantastic afternoon thanks to Sebastian, Jessica and the chef at A.O.C. Authentic French cuisine and French cafe ambience. Sebastian spoilt us with champagne with desert and Calvados after the meal. It was hard to leave! Sebastian is very entertaining and made it an unforgettable experience! Thanks.
The food is very good, particularly given its price and the restaurant’s location. Menu is also pretty varied, there were many dishes that looked good to my wife and I. We’re looking forward to heading back and trying more.
Lovely neighborhood place, with locals dropping in. Attentive service, not intrusive. Excellent coffee, etc., huge wine list. Reasonably priced--good to know about it. Outdoor area would be lovely during warmer weather. Table big enough so you're not cramped--and friendly folks all around.
A very enjoyable neighborhood bistro with an interesting menu, reasonably priced wine and good service. Only four stars because the fro t room is very cold with the wind blowing in every time the front door opens and closes.
