Have been here several times but not for brunch. The omelettes were delicious and the atmosphere was great for conversation since it was a weekday.

Everything was fine - especially the food - until 5 or 10 minutes before we left. At that time two musicians started playing, and the saxophone was simply too loud for the small room. We'll be back, but 1/2 an hour earlier.
Did I mention the chef is a genius?

A great little French restaurant in a very nice part of the neighborhood in the west village. Would definitely visit again when in NYC, specially on Mondays as it is BYOB.

What a great eat! Take a date before a night out and you'll be starting the night off right. Frequents tip - ask for seating in the back to avoid the cold air from the door in the winter.

AOC has been one of our favorite restaurants to go for special occasions or get togethers with friends for years. The staff and ambiance always fab, the food tres bien and Seb is most warm and welcoming.

Food was very good. But we (3 women) found it odd that after we had ordered, we heard the waitress tell 2 other tables the evening’s specials when she hadn’t mentioned it to us. Likewise, as soon as we finished our entrees, she brought our check without asking if we wanted coffee or dessert. And she did ask the other tables! No idea why. Was it because the other tables were couples? Or because we used a Groupon? Just found it odd.

Walking toward the Cherry Lane we happened upon Milk and Cookies and had cappuccino and split an enormous salted caramel brownie. So all’s well that ends well.

The food was absolutely fantastic. Couldn't give it enough stars. The truffle mac & cheese was out of this world!!!!

The service on the other left a lot to be desired. I think there were at least 5 different people who came to our table, plus the busboy. We were sharing dishes, which we made clear, and we had to ask multiple times for clean, additional plates so we weren't using our bread plates. There were only two of us. Once we were done, all of the staff disappeared and we had to go searching to get our check. Once we did, we asked to divide our check between 2 credit cards, and they did not do that so we had to wait longer for them to fix it. I'm still waiting for my credit.

If you can order to take out, I recommend it. Again, the food it wonderful.

No greeting, or interest in checking open table reservation. Just grabbed menus and escorted us to a table. Service was apathetic at best. My wife attributed it possibly to being French. Food was plated well plated well and very good.

We were here on a gorgeous fall night so got to sit outdoors. It was a bit noisy but ambience was nice. The service was mediocre. With a tiny table, there wasn’t enough space when our mains arrived. Our cheese platter was still on and the server didn’t even help to manage the table well. Food was alright. Nothing exceptional. Not sure we’ll go back.

Have been to A.O.C. many, many times with friends, for celebrations and have recommended it to friends. EVERYONE has told me it's a great place, especially the French food.

My personal favorite is the steak tartar made table side to order.

Will continue to go until they are no longer there.

Regards,
Cliff

I have eaten at AOC for lunch but this was my first dinner-time meal. The ambiance is very West Village (homey) and the service and attitude of the staff was friendly and unpretentious. We had an excellent meal, one from the regular menu and one from the list of specials. I would certainly go again for a great casual and warm experience for the heart and the tummy!

Catastrophic!!

I've never written a restaurant review but felt like I had to warn others about this terrible place.

I have never had such poor service in my life. It took them 30 minutes to bring us water for our group of 7, another 30 for drinks (they forgot 2 of them for another 20 minutes), and then they didn't even bring the food out at the same time. At every step of the way, they were completely incompetent- never said hello, didn't bring our forks and knives out, had to ask for everything 5 times etc.

My friend got his food 15 minutes after we all finished eating and we had to ask 5 people where his food was. Also- it wasn't at all busy!! The front of the restaurant was completely empty, the back had a few patrons, and the patio was mostly full.

Then the waiter insulted us for leaving a 15% tip instead of 20%. Honestly at that point he should have received nothing. The manager said he would comp us a round a drinks but 20 minutes later it still hasn't arrived and we just had to abort mission and get the heck out of there. They finally brought out a couple drinks- I guess we were supposed to share glasses- but we just left them. You'd think the would have been apologetic about messing up every step of the way but no- they really didn't care. It would've been so easy to just send out a quick round of drinks and say sorry for all the mishaps, but they just didn't care.

It was so embarrassing to have planned a brunch at this place and I will never come back here again. My friends and I have very extensive networks and will be advising that our friends do the same and stay clear.

ooooh the garden! It's a little courtyard but a perfect one. It goes along with the food. The foie gras terrine is luscious, paired with the apple compote and toasted baguette. The duck confit is crisp and juicy and the cauliflower side was great. Demi poulet roti was so crispy that it was irresistible. Too full for dessert but all of them are good. Been there many times and will be back. One caveat--the bathrooms are down a flight of stairs

Waiter wasn't very attentive. It's not a very good thing when you have to look for the waiter to ask for another bottle of wine. Also, 5 of the 6 people at our table placed their order when the 6th asked if there were any specials, which there were.
We've been here dozens of times and it's one of our favorites, we are almost always very happy with the service. Maybe the waiter was just having a bad day, who knows.

I was disappointed with this visit to a generally reliable neighborhood favorite. The service was slow and seemed overwhelmed by a predictably busy Sunday brunch crowd. Not all the orders came out right, and the food was uneven. It took work to get coffee cups refilled, even the first round.

I hope this was an aberration, not a sign of the new normal.

A new favorite. Casual French dining with a varied and reasonably priced menu. We were lucky enough to snag a table in the garden on a beautiful evening so I'm not sure what the experience of dining inside is like, but I'll definitely head back to this charming find to feel like I'm back in France.

One of my absolute favourites. The garden is lovely, and even when full is never too noisy. The food is consistently delicious, and generous portions. The staff is outstanding, and they also have an amazing happy hour with delicious oysters and other scrumptious bargains.

My first time there, had a friend's birthday dinner. The ambience is very French and quaint. I didn't care for the tv over the bar but it must serve a purpose I guess. The service was outstanding, from the busboy to the waiter everyone was polite, friendly, very attending, really made our dining experience better.
The food was very fresh and tasty, the cocktails were just perfect!
Will definitely recommend it to friends.

Came with a group of colleagues to celebrate a special occasion! We were a large group, the service was exceptional, with the waiter and team attending to each need of our group of 15. We enjoyed cocktails, wine, appetizers, and diverse entrees, all were exceptional. Food came out at the same time for the group, was hot, and cooked well. Our group, due to its size, was definitely a bit loud at times, but the restaurant was very kind to us and had different seating areas so guests enjoying a more intimate meal were not bothered by us.

The food at this local bistro is always tasty but this time the service was disappointingly lacking. Despite being seated in a visible and high-traffic area of the dining room, we had to call the waiter to ask for our drinks and most of what followed. Worst of all was the waiting for the desserts when the place had very few customers toward the end of the evening. We had practically finished the cappuccinos by the time the dessert arrived. Hopefully, this was a one-time lapse as the food is great.
