Our extensive menu is a collaboration of handed down family recipes from the chef/owner, Romain Bonnans, and classic French fare.
Savor everything from Omelets to Feuille de Brique for brunch. For dinner you might try our Moules Marinieres (a favorite among our customers), a classic Salad Nicoise or a Lobster Risotto, all while enjoying the casual atmosphere. In the summer months, relax in our outdoor garden and experience a little bit of France.

No healthy options. Nothing really appealing to people under 40.
Very overpriced for what it was and service was not good. The wrong dish was brought out for one of our party, had to ask for the bill multiple times, generally very slow.
Sat in the garden with lots of mice running around. Not Good!
A great neighborhood spot. The duck was good, but very salty, otherwise cooked well.
We had a pleasant and leisurely dining experience
Beautiful place! Service was a bit slow and the monkfish special was underwhelming. Soup was fantastic- desserts were amazing!
It was a great place to meet a friend for happy hour and some food. I would definitely go back.
Caramel coffee was amazing. Chocolate croissant was divine. Croquet Monsieur was dry and needed a bechamel (don't recommend this dish), but the fries were delicious.
Great food and great experience! We had a challenging group of 15, but the staff really went with the flow. A perfect venue for a group meal for a special occasion.
Good food and excellent service. Diverse menu and worth the pricing. A enjoyable meal in a friendly mostly local venue.
Everything could not have been more perfect. We were a group of 4 out to dinner with my parents and we sat in the garden. Although it was busy everyone was quiet and kept their conversations to their table so I felt like it was just us in the garden. Food was fantastic. Francisco was the best. Can’t wait to go back!
Excellent seafood and steaks, we loved the mussels, dorade and branzino special! Servers were very helpful and attentive, the garden dining is very romantic
Birthday AOC is a place we go often.
Reliably good French Bistro food with a lovely garden for seasonal dining. Nothing exceptional, but well prepared & satisfying.
We had a reservation and still waited 45-1 hr to be seated. Seemed like the guy running the restaurant was always all over the place! Then they served “wonder bread” literally white sandwich bread that someone else had already broken up pieces from it. And then when we asked for baguette bread instead we were told they ran out! We had ordered the mussels which were just decent and didn’t have bread to dip in! Inexcusable a French restaurant without baguette???
Mixed review. Forgot drink order twice, took several tries to get silverware and plates (we ended up eating off of appetizer plates), busser knocked full glass is water on lap. Some chaotic serving experience on the whole but everyone was in good spirits so not a huge deal.
Still food was good with good portions, everything we ordered was tasty, server didn’t let us overorder which i always appreciate, seated promptly, nice ambiance on patio, fully engaged manager, reasonable prices for upscale entrees.
I had never been there before. I saw the restaurant while sitting outside at via carota. I told my nephew about It. He had been there and loved it. My friend and I were very pleased. The staff were attentive and professional and the food was very delicious. I will go back when in the area !!
Great place. Cheese platter was larger than expected and atmosphere was on point.
Great outdoor patio area. With the brick wall you can't tell you're on s corner in the city. Nice brunch menu.
Outside patio was wonderful, service wasn’t. Most dishes were quite good, including the mussels
Very dull food, uninterested service. Nice to be able to be outside though.
All the dishes that we order are very delectable and the waitress always stop by to see whether we need anything further. Her services ate very hospital.
Very rude host/manager. Made us feel very UNwelcome. Food and table service mediocre.
I had 3 slim merguez sausages with crisp, thin fries, tasty sauce, reasonably priced. My companion had dorade with sauce vièrge, underwhelming for the price. Current entrée prices may be higher than the on-line menu. Light meal and “grazing” are adequate: two people next to us shared a portion of garlicky, buttery escargots, the generous cheese plate with walnuts and grapes, with one glass of white wine. There’s a reasonable burger on the menu and substantial, shareable appetizers. Patrons in the garden were mostly younger: couples, friends and small groups. Wine selections are good French standards. Pros: location, location and garden. Vintage West Village ambience, especially the front room. Prices at AOC are lower than at La Boucherie, also French and a block away. Cons: Menus and presentations look pretty much the same as they did 20 years ago; but the prices are definitely not ($17.50 for a medium portion of standard frozen calamari with 3 sauces). I know, I know: gentrification, New York rents, the cost of ingredients.... And God forbid AOC should be replaced by something trendy, like so much else on Bleecker St.! But bottom line, this old timer is looking a little tired. Staff are young, friendly and attentive.
It was my birthday dinner and the service was impeccable. AOC is definitely my favorite restaurant in NYC and I will definitely be back. The food is amazing. Thanks for a memorable birthday. You guys really made it special.
Too much money for the wine. Too much money in general. Coq au vin nothing special.
researched this restaurant on the internet, when we got there the prices were considerably higher than what they posted on their website, some as much as 20% higher, real bait and switch, my wife and I each had the linguine seafood pasta dish, rubber shrimp, everyone else felt it was okay, nothing special
Wonderful French restaurant wit old world feel
The food was terrible and aggressively priced. Other diners around us complained about the food too so I don’t think it was just us.
Excellent service; charming ambiance. They let 4 of us old friends enjoy a reunion for hours and didn’t rush us, even allowing us to grab another table indoors to seek shelter from our charming outdoor patio table during a sudden thunderstorm. The menu is somewhat limited and traditional “affordable” dinner options like a burger are a tad $$ but the quality was good. At that price they could be more generous with the fries, though. 😀
My friends and I went to dinner at AOC - the service was great and the food was very authentic.
We can enjoy village atmosphere
Always perfect in every way 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
I came here because AOC was listed on the French Restaurant Week. I should've known that this was a bad idea when they didn't openly post their French Restaurant Week menu on OpenTable. There was no lunch menu and since I wasn't going to pay 42 dollars for a brunch, I just ordered from their regular lunch/brunch menu. We wanted to try both their lunch and petiti dejeuner so we had le tartare de thon and an omelet. Le tartare de thon was pretty good, had guac on top and dressed with lemon juice. However, the chips on the side was a little soft and oily already so it wasn't crispy as I thought. The omelet itself was seasoned well but the egg part was a little overcooked. Overall the experience was good but I've had better brunch elsewhere.
The waiter was not the most polite when we asked about the French restaurant week menu. Likewise there were only two things offered the hanger steak and Durango fish. I ordered the fish and my friend the steak. The steak was very unappetizing to look at and was swimming in the sauce used. Neither meal tasted good leaving much to be desired. Unfortunately we both got very sick that evening after getting home. Would not return again.
Quaint little bistro with delicious food. Great service. Great staff. Friendly. Unassuming. The sommelier knew his wines and recommended a bottle that was divine. Will definitely be going back.
The service was impeccable. The food was amazing. It was a truly wonderful experience. I highly recommended this restaurant. I will definitely be going back.
A lovely night to sit in the garden and have good food/drink! Never disappoints!!
Terrific food, lovely middle room. Can’t wait to go again.
Oysters were poorly shucked and seemed as if they had been washed to remove bits of shell (some of which remained) and with it—all the liquor. They were bland and a waste of time, money and life. The Niçoise salad was terrific, especially the tuna which was seasoned so nicely and also the potatoes. It was the best Niçoise I’ve had all summer. Weirdly all the anchovies were hidden under a bed of arugula but I was happy to find them. Salad made up for the oysters which were a disaster. Ambience is amazing and service was good.
