Food always amazing. jessica the server INCREDIBLE
Food was excellent , unfortunately they had just repaint the wood that afternoon and it was still wet , when we got home we found paint on our clothes ( luckily they washed out and dark colours ) . They really should have closed if they new the paint was wet .
Hopefully next time we come without ant problems
This was our 2nd time going to AOC for Thanksgiving and it was great!! We enjoyed it more then last year. There wasn't one thing wrong with the dinner!!Every item on the plate had such great flavor and was done to perfection.
I frequently stop in for lunch and it is always great, they do have the best onion soup I think in NYC!!
Dinner & Brunch is always great and they are consistent every time.Hopefully everyone will enjoy it as much as I do.
Wonderful food, exceptional service from our host, Keri.
Wonderful ambiance—we had a three hour dinner of appetizers, mains and wine.
Food was good, but I was disappointed in the wine. Had to send back a Pinot Noir, and ordered a Cotes du Rhone instead. Neither wine was very good -- surprised since I ordered a French wine in a French restaurant.
Excellent server, great food, perfect date night spot!
They should be doing more business so we could actually talk while having a good meal. A nice find in Manhattan.
The service was excellent. However, I was disappointed in the pricing. The open table menu, their website's menu and the actual menu at the restaurant were all priced differently, with the restaurant's menu being the most expensive of them all; it was a sticker shock. The food was decent but nothing to write home about. The atmosphere was lovely, but I wouldn't recommend it for food. Maybe to grab a glass of wine with a friend.
Food was quite good; the service a little spotty; the noise level very high.
Check the menus items on line. It’s very French, and if you can find something, go. I had a hanger steak in a red wine sauce. It was very tasty. Wait staff were pleasant and attentive. Ambience was pleasantl.
Great restaurant for typical French fare! Ambience is really nice and quaint.
AOC is truly reliable, delicious French food with a cozy ambiance. The backyard is wonderful in nice weather, but the inside space makes you feel right at home.
Nice place, good food, friendly staff.
It's what you could call "French every day life cuisine" not fancy but good, what a French woman could cook for her family every evening... Trust me I'm French.
Showed up on time for an OpenTable reservation, having traveled across town, only to be told—with unbelievable perfunctory rudeness—that the kitchen was closed. Not even any empathy or sense of regret about it.
No healthy options. Nothing really appealing to people under 40.
Very overpriced for what it was and service was not good. The wrong dish was brought out for one of our party, had to ask for the bill multiple times, generally very slow.
Sat in the garden with lots of mice running around. Not Good!
A great neighborhood spot. The duck was good, but very salty, otherwise cooked well.
We had a pleasant and leisurely dining experience
Beautiful place! Service was a bit slow and the monkfish special was underwhelming. Soup was fantastic- desserts were amazing!
It was a great place to meet a friend for happy hour and some food. I would definitely go back.
Caramel coffee was amazing. Chocolate croissant was divine. Croquet Monsieur was dry and needed a bechamel (don't recommend this dish), but the fries were delicious.
Great food and great experience! We had a challenging group of 15, but the staff really went with the flow. A perfect venue for a group meal for a special occasion.
Good food and excellent service. Diverse menu and worth the pricing. A enjoyable meal in a friendly mostly local venue.
Everything could not have been more perfect. We were a group of 4 out to dinner with my parents and we sat in the garden. Although it was busy everyone was quiet and kept their conversations to their table so I felt like it was just us in the garden. Food was fantastic. Francisco was the best. Can’t wait to go back!
Excellent seafood and steaks, we loved the mussels, dorade and branzino special! Servers were very helpful and attentive, the garden dining is very romantic
Birthday AOC is a place we go often.
Reliably good French Bistro food with a lovely garden for seasonal dining. Nothing exceptional, but well prepared & satisfying.
We had a reservation and still waited 45-1 hr to be seated. Seemed like the guy running the restaurant was always all over the place! Then they served “wonder bread” literally white sandwich bread that someone else had already broken up pieces from it. And then when we asked for baguette bread instead we were told they ran out! We had ordered the mussels which were just decent and didn’t have bread to dip in! Inexcusable a French restaurant without baguette???
Mixed review. Forgot drink order twice, took several tries to get silverware and plates (we ended up eating off of appetizer plates), busser knocked full glass is water on lap. Some chaotic serving experience on the whole but everyone was in good spirits so not a huge deal.
Still food was good with good portions, everything we ordered was tasty, server didn’t let us overorder which i always appreciate, seated promptly, nice ambiance on patio, fully engaged manager, reasonable prices for upscale entrees.
I had never been there before. I saw the restaurant while sitting outside at via carota. I told my nephew about It. He had been there and loved it. My friend and I were very pleased. The staff were attentive and professional and the food was very delicious. I will go back when in the area !!
Great place. Cheese platter was larger than expected and atmosphere was on point.
Great outdoor patio area. With the brick wall you can't tell you're on s corner in the city. Nice brunch menu.
Outside patio was wonderful, service wasn’t. Most dishes were quite good, including the mussels
Very dull food, uninterested service. Nice to be able to be outside though.
All the dishes that we order are very delectable and the waitress always stop by to see whether we need anything further. Her services ate very hospital.
Very rude host/manager. Made us feel very UNwelcome. Food and table service mediocre.
I had 3 slim merguez sausages with crisp, thin fries, tasty sauce, reasonably priced. My companion had dorade with sauce vièrge, underwhelming for the price. Current entrée prices may be higher than the on-line menu. Light meal and “grazing” are adequate: two people next to us shared a portion of garlicky, buttery escargots, the generous cheese plate with walnuts and grapes, with one glass of white wine. There’s a reasonable burger on the menu and substantial, shareable appetizers. Patrons in the garden were mostly younger: couples, friends and small groups. Wine selections are good French standards. Pros: location, location and garden. Vintage West Village ambience, especially the front room. Prices at AOC are lower than at La Boucherie, also French and a block away. Cons: Menus and presentations look pretty much the same as they did 20 years ago; but the prices are definitely not ($17.50 for a medium portion of standard frozen calamari with 3 sauces). I know, I know: gentrification, New York rents, the cost of ingredients.... And God forbid AOC should be replaced by something trendy, like so much else on Bleecker St.! But bottom line, this old timer is looking a little tired. Staff are young, friendly and attentive.
It was my birthday dinner and the service was impeccable. AOC is definitely my favorite restaurant in NYC and I will definitely be back. The food is amazing. Thanks for a memorable birthday. You guys really made it special.
Too much money for the wine. Too much money in general. Coq au vin nothing special.
