Excellent food and service. Nice French wine.
Highly recommended. Memorable get together with family.
Great location Attentive service Accommodating to a party of 6
The food is always great here. The escargots and muscles are awesome. The dining room inside has a very cool, chic country bistro atmosphere. The staff is super friendly and it’s a pleasure to have a relaxing dinner here.
Under the assumption that the pandemic has resulted in the lack of restaurant workers, the service and food were a little compromised. In the hopes that our city is able to get back to 100% normal, I'm confident its vibrancy and perfection will return. AOC is my go-to French restaurant because their food has alway been scrumptious.
Our waiter was nasty and had an attitude. I asked for a slightly dirty martini and he brought a dirty martini twice and gave me a nasty look. He also was running around and seemed overworked. The restaurant obviously needs better service and more help. The food was excellent and they had a Reggae band up in front ( on Wed with a 2 hour happy hour at the bar.
Wonderful lunch at AOC East. My ratatouille, Nicoise salad and chocolate cake were all just superb. My server was great and the place is so charming and cozy. A great dining option on the UES.
The absolute best! The food, atmosphere, wine and staff is all amazing.
Sunday brunch for 2 people in the heated outdoor dining area. Noise level a little high which was OK with us. We had a dozen oysters to start. I ordered the burger with fries, and Swiss cheese, medium well. It came perfectly as requested, and with lettuce, tomato, onion on the side. The omelet, ordered with spinach, feta, bacon was perfectly cooked also. It came with greens, sliced strawberries, home potatoes. We had coffee and cappuccino while waiting for our shared dessert of chocolate lava cake w/ vanilla ice cream, which was brought to the table with a candle and happy birthday song (other diners joined in!) The outdoor terrace is pet-friendly! Prices are very reasonable. Service was efficient and pleasant.it was a lovely, leisurely brunch! Thank you, AOC East! We shall be back.
Food was good but came out so slowly. Very long wait. Also, the salmon was a bit underdone. But overall, it’s a good spot. It just wasn’t AOC’s best night.
Very nice outdoor dining set up. Live music. Food was especially good. Ordered the escargots and hanger steak. Nice wine choices by the glass. Service was very good.
First time at this restaurant and happy we find it - will return.
the best restaurant on the UES! The food, ambiance, staff and wine menu is all fabulous.
Love AOC East! Awesome food and service always!
Looking forward to my next visit
Great food - tuna tartare and the escargot were delicious. Bartender was lovely
Had a great lunch. Friendly staff
Excellent food, gorgeous place, okay service.
Glad I went, but got to say it was so loud in the dining room that it was impossible for the two of us to hold a conversation. The dining room was packed and everyone was shouting to be heard over the din, plus overhead music. We loved the food and we loved the wine and the restaurant is so beautiful…… It was a bummer, though, that the two of us could not hold a conversation over our dinner.
Dinner was great! Great wine selection too. Would definitely recommend
Always good service abs food! Glad they remained in neighborhood!
Went to catch up with friends over a meal, in a casual cozy energetic space and that’s exactly what I got! Loved the sound track.
Excellent food and service. Love the oysters and the mussels and fries. Cool ambiance and very friendly staff. Totally recommend this UES gem.
What a hidden gem! Authentic French cuisine with a bonus of live music! We will be back.
Food enjoyed by all guests and live music was great addition to our evening. Service was professional. Great local wine bar and restaurant / our neighborhood place to go , with many choices on the menu.
Ordered 3 wine bottles that they didn’t have. Then the waiter handed me the same exact wine menu but every bottle was $10-$20 more expensive than the prior menu. Additionally the food was about twice as expensive as the menu they posted to open table. Food was great but I can’t get over how sleezy the service was.
This was our first visit to AOC East! The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was romantic. Very friendly staff and great experience overall. The Grand Mix charcuterie board was a perfect choice, and the carbonara was delicious.
Had a nice meal outside under the heat lamps. The service was great. Very nice people and yummy food!
AOC East is always a five star experience. The food is always delicious and the service is always amazing! My favorite restaurant.
Delicious food. Very good service. A little pricey. Definitely will return!
Have gone to AOC in West Village many times(closed now due to Covid) but first time here at East. Food was great…just as I remembered from downtown. Best eggs Benedict and carbonara. And best of all our waiter from AOC West is now working there and remembered us. Glad that they have been able to stay in business and we will definitely be going back again.
Delicious food and wine! Try the chocolate mousse! Very cute vibe and nice outdoor seating.
Perhaps it is just a mismatch of reality and expectations - we were looking for a French bistro and the reviews hinted that there may be some issues. The restaurant is less bistro and more cave-like. The staff is friendly enough and competent - but some might say too friendly, and we would have preferred masks (should have asked before reserving). The food was better than the ambience - but not enough better to make up for a dreary scene. The price was reasonable but when we eat out - less often than usual - we want something more than adequate, and this barely made it to that level. It was crowded and most seem to enjoy so perhaps it was us and our expectations.
Had a wonderful time dining al fresco with dear friends. My friend and I enjoyed our coq au vin and his wife enjoyed the salmon. My husband, who loves lamb, tried the lamb dish, but was disappointed because he isn’t a stew lover, and despite asking the waiter whether it was spicy (and he said no) it was a very spicy sauce and he didn’t enjoy it. He did love his appetizer - the tuna tartar and my friend and I also enjoyed the onion soup. All in all, a great meal. We will of course return and recommend it to you.
I've been to AOC East for dinner 3 times and have enjoyed it each time. The waiter was very helpful when choosing wine and attentive during our meal. All was delicious and I would go back for sure.
The food was phenomenal! We couldn’t have had a better experience. We cannot wait to return.
Delicious burger and fries. Good atmosphere. Air conditioning wasn't working inside, but since the place wasn't too crowded it was okay.
The whole experience was terrific. I needed a large outside table and they accommodated us perfectly. The food is always outstanding. A favorite neighborhood place.
as always AOC never disappoints. amazing food/service.
they made my birthday memorable!
Service was fast/nice. The duck confit was extremely salty, and it tasted as if it had been refrigerated (pre-cooking, probably frozen for a wks/months). Same "refrigerator" taste for the creme brulee: didn't taste fresh, no vanilla or rich taste other than just heavy creme taste. My friend's salad looked good...
We appreciate the great waiters! Good service with a smile!
Excellent food, service, and ambiance, although the music was a little loud for conversation.
Veggie risotto was great!
Very welcoming staff. Darkly-lit which made reading the menu difficult. The food was adequate. They served the bread after the appetizer, which was disappointing.
The crab croquettes had too much potato in it, the Tarte Tatin was old and should not have been served. The wine and the oysters were very good. If they up their game food-wise, I'd return.
