Restaurant ANZU, located in the Union Square shopping district of Downtown San Francisco. Here, sustainable California cuisine is enhanced with Asian flavors.
The Restaurant is open for Breakfast, Lunch, Brunch, Happy Hour and Dinner. We offer a Full Bar, Sushi Bar as well as entree favorites such as Misoyaki Black Cod, 38 North Duck and an array of Steaks and Seafood grilled to perfection on our Bincho-tan Grill.
Express menus are available at lunch. Try our Sushi Bento box or our Express Luncheon both guaranteed to keep your lunch hour to less than an hour in our restaurant.

Brought my daughter here for the first time. Being in a rush before a 6:30 play, James was so considerate and helpful!!! He suggested we continue to relax in the lounge and he would make sure our meal was the first one out. He brought everything to us, allowing us to relax and not rush thru the dinner. We both had the salmon and it was delicious. Can't wait to return!

Delicious food with amazing service. We felt very taken care of by our server, Darshan, and other staff member, David. They were all very attentive, and it definitely added to the experience. Starters were small, but artfully crafted. Entrees were actually large portions--the Miso cod entree was HEAVENLY and super buttery. Perfect place to celebrate our anniversary!

This was my first time at this restaurant. I was meeting a friend for lunch and we both enjoyed it. I don’t remember the name of what I had but it was shrimp in a bowl with rice noodles, shredded cabbage and carrots and a delicious sauce. The whole thing was quite delicious . I was greeted warmly upon arrival and all the staff were friendly and helpful.

Had dinner on the SF food week and ordered the special prix fixe dinner being offered. First up the salad it suppose to be an apple/arugula/endive/carrot pickle frisée with Roquefort and what I got was a salad made up mostly of radicchio and no cheese so the flavors were biter and nothing to balance it out. Also, there was only 1 small piece of a pickled carrot. Poor execution on the staff. Next up was misoyaki black cod (gindara) the fish was perfect the dashi was subtle with a hint of truffle. The pumpkin gnocchi on the other hand was as hard and over cooked; it was like chewing an old piece of gum and lacked any flavor and did not finished it. They were going make a couple of more but I declined because there was nothing to taste. Finally, the goat cheese cheesecake tasted old from the fridge and I don’t blame for making it in bulk for the menu but it was not satisfying at all.
This was there opportunity to win over customers and it did not do it for me. The waiter apologized for the errors and mentioned it to the chef and they did comp my daughters dessert to make amends but nothing wowed us. The staff was pretty friendly but there seems to be a disjointed effort; it lacked the seamless service that I get from a well run restaurant.

We were there for SF Restaurant week of $40 dinner set. The salad is not tasty. And has weird red polka dots dressing..The black cod main course was good, but portion is so small. The cheese cake has a weird goat cheese which I definitely do not like. Overall, the meal is just average or below average to me.

The octopus was flavorless and sushi very spicy and just ok. They told us about the free glasses of sparkling wine only at the end of the meal when we were ready to ask for the check and just leave.
I would not recommend it
