We went for the Sunday Jazz Brunch and asked to be seated at a table where conversation and music would co-exist. Without hesitation, we were led to a private dining room. Then had great service from our team duo and delicious food. Absolutely loved this culinary and ambience experience!!
This was my third time there in 30 years - and this time was the best! In spite of coronavirus concerns the service and food was spectacular. We (party of 4) were invited to take a tour of the 14 rooms (who knew) and wine cellar (wow). The "guide" shared the 180 years of history and the family.
Excellent.... the service, food was all top notch!!!
We even got a tour of the restaurant from the head waiter.
Lunch menu had excellent choices. Food was outstanding!! Service was outstanding as well!!!
We usually schedule one classic NOLA restaurant every trip we make. They are usually not up to bar with restaurants that have opened in the last 20 years but are pretty good and you can “check the box”.
I unfortunately have to recommend against anyone going here. The food was horrible. The famous oysters Rockefeller tasted like elmers paste. The entire tables fish dishes lacked flavor. The only thing half decent was the gumbo but there is FAR better gumbo within the surrounding blocks. Our one friends steak came raw, was sent back and was raw again. The cocktails were overly sweet and unsophisticated. Having just come from the carousel bar and French 75 the different was quite noticeable. They gave us free desserts and the Baked Alaska was blah. Bread pudding was only slightly less blah. If this restaurant was not the “oldest in the US” and not in a major tourist area it would be out of business in a week. There must be a way to maintain the nostalgia while increasing the food quality.
My pompano fish did not have much flavor & was expensive! The alligator bisque was delicious and my husband’s steak was very good as well!
We have been dining at this restaurant for many, many years and it never disappoints! Highly recommend!
$20.20 three course lunch is a great value. Add $.25 vodka lemonades. Great ambiance and service.
A classic New Orleans restaurant! Such a wonderful historic place! The new chef has kept the traditional dishes with a new fresh twist. I highly recommend the oyster dishes and baked Alaska!
For such an iconic place, this fell short on everything. We dressed for a special evening which they did not acknowledge from our reservation, sat us in a noisy room with no ambiance, served us bread in a paper bag, lettuce salad included the "core"/brown pieces, food was delivered so fast that we were in and out within one hour. Crazy! Total tourist trap and NOT fine dining. Sad. And when the manager asked us about our experience he did nothing to take care of the issues we told him about and only thanked us for stopping in. Such a disappointment on all levels.
Monday evening. Quiet. Visiting NO for the second time after many years! Charming young man waiter. Excellent fish. Super bread pudding! Yummy.
We chose Antoine's for the history and the iconic dishes. We had Oysters Rockefeller and Baked Alaska, but were very disappointed. We had much better meals in New Orleans. On the bright side, the Sidecar was the best I've ever had. My advice: drink at the bar, but go somewhere else for the food.
The service was extremely poor. We had to ask for water more than once. We were never offered a drink, although we both would have had one.
It took 30 minutes to get the appetizer and another 30 min to get the main course. The main course came cold. It was a glazed duck quarter on a waffle. The butter on the waffle was not even soft.
Dessert was bread pudding and was barely room temperature. My wife asked it it was supposed to be hot and was told, “sometimes”!
We have been to Antoine’s before and we’re seriously disappointed this time.
We chose Antoine’s for our dinner date in our first wedding anniversary, and we’re so glad we did that! There wouldn’t have been a better way, me and my husband are great appreciation for the service and hospitality of the staff here. Their food recommendations was to the point and we got treated with our complementary special anniversary dessert and drink. Oh and how can I forget...we got an Antoine’s special anniversary gift!

Food was good, but nothing to overly rave about. Service was subpar and robotic. They just wanted to you in and out.
Amazing food and service. Not a quick meal, we were there for just under 2 hours for 4 courses. But we like that. Gave us time to really enjoy the night.
Service was terrible. Long wait time for drinks, items missing from order. Wrong orders. Food was good but service was awful.
Every dish we ordered was served cold. Sat us at the table right next to the front door, where the street side was extremely noisy. Also, don’t listen to the recommendation of wearing a coat there - they let random bums come in and eat off the street.
Great restaurant in the middle of downtown. We went for the lunch special and the value, especially 25 cent Lemon Drop cocktails, was great as was the service and the quality of the food. Would highly recommend it!
Went there for lunch with my wife to celebrate our anniversary while in New Orleans. The food was good, the service excellent. Our waiter was fantastic and amusing.
Antoine’s is hit or moss. You can have a wonderful experience or a meh both food and service wise. Id give it a C- this time.
After having visited Antoine’s during a long weekend trip in December, my husband and I decided Antoine’s was our choice for our anniversary dinner. So, another road trip was in order. We had such a wonderful evening at Antoine’s. Our appetizer (Escargot a la Bordelaise), dinner (Creole Steak Frittes), and dessert (pecan bread pudding) were all wonderful. A couple of things we appreciate about Antoine’s are 1. you are not rushed through your meal and 2. the employees truly love what they do. Our wait staff, Zyjuan and Jerome were so wonderful and attentive and did everything to make our evening special. We even received a momento gift to take home. To top things off, Gregory offered to give us a private tour of the restaurant after our diner was complete. He shared some great stories and helped make the night even more special.
Although we were seated in a back semi-private room for dinner where it was nice and quiet and only couples (some others also celebrating anniversaries), eventually, couple of young ladies were seated in the room as well. The ambience quickly took a turn from quiet, romantic, and relaxed to annoying. All of us could hear the girls’ complete conversations. They talked so loud that all of us other couples looked at each other and just shook our heads. Their loud talking was no fault of Antoine’s, but the girls’ loud taking really belonged more in a pub/casual restaurant.

Did the preset lunch menu and order a bunch of things to supplement it. Escargots à la Bourguignonne were the highlight of the meal. Used a whole loaf of bread to sop up the sauce. Charbroiled oysters were the runner up. Oysters Rockefeller are worth a try.

I took my dad here to celebrate his 85th birthday. We traveled from far away with the intention of going to your restaurant. It did not disappoint! Sterling made the night even more special with his unique presentation/service. It was a special night.
The restaurant is very elegant and quiet. The service was excellent. The salad and main dish were a bit bland. The cocktails were very good as was the dessert.
Disappointed. Time for the old dog to do some new tricks. Food is just basic and does not live up to the hype. I’m sure at one time this place was extremely good, but unless I missed something, those days are no more. Need new twists on some old favorites and also some serious work on food presentation. Plus a refresh on the old 1940’s dark interior would be nice. All my opinion of course.

This was a Sunday Jazz brunch. It was a good experience. The Mimosa was excellent. We each had Duck & Waffle, which tasted great. One waffle was cooked nicely the other was hard and not edible. The salad, and the shrimp appetizer were very good. The bread pudding for dessert was exceptional. Service was friendly and good. We'd go back.
Last time there was in 1990s. Was great then but has gone downhill since. I understand they pride themselves on tradition, but they have also gotten “cheap.” Minute maid orange juice, Folgers coffee, and what seemed to taste like Campbell’s soup on the veal. Rivigote that reminded me of the “crab salad” we can all make at home. Overpriced. Spend your money at “Tableau” where the Ravigote is sublime and the atmosphere and service is much better...and more reasonably priced. I still love you Antoinne’s, for setting the bar so high and encouraging other restaurants to do the same!

Nice and friendly staff but would not recommend. We've had way better food at other NOLA restaurants and overall just wasn't overwhelmed or honestly even whelmed at all. Also, very odd ambiance as it feels stark, white and cold. Almost like a pop-up restaurant vs. a well established restaurant. Because the food was just "okay" I didn't feel it was a good value.
Too noisy but good food and excellent service
Our wedding anniversary was February 29th...we only celebrate every 4 years, so it has to be special. Antoine's filled the bill...the food was very good, not fabulous, but definitely great for the value. It's the service that sets Antoine's apart: West was attentive, provided great suggestions and made our special night just that. Only down-side: very lax dress code ( really, you can't put on a collared shirt & jacket? Come on, guys) and noise level. It's surprisingly noisy for an "intimate" restaurant. Overall, this iconic restaurant deserves its title as one of New Orleans' best.
We were disappointed. We ate there years ago and it wasn’t the same. We thought Brennan’s and Arnaud’s were much better.
