I was a bit disappointed by my experience as there are many positive reviews for this location. However, I cannot report that our server was attentive as she visited our table a total of three times, one of which we needed to flag her down as she had cleared our plates and 20 minutes later did not return to ask whether we needed anything else or the check. I was not impressed by the branzino with the side of two potato wedges, lol. My mother cooks better than this! However, my friend enjoyed her burger. Also, we were originally sat under a leaky roof, and noticed that the restaurant kept seating people at that table, and then would have to keep moving those people as they complained about a leak. Very odd that there was no communication amongst staff to not seat anyone in that area. Overall, average. When I pay those prices, especially in SoHo, I expect attentive service and food that is worth the price point. I cannot say that that was my experience.
We were greeted nicely and seated outside. It took a while to have our drink order taken. The Raki was good. Fennel and Avocado salad was good but the Tuna was over cooked and dry.
I used Open Table to let them know it was our anniversary but no one noticed the comment.
This restaurant is completely overpriced and the service was terrible.
A very charming place with Brick walls and French decor. When the weather is good they open the garage door giving the place an outdoor vibe. Food was really good - the kabobs are top - and they carry one of my favorite champagne: Taittinger for a very reasonable price.
Took 45 mins to get water in our glasses and drinks ordered. The food came out all together which was fine, but we weren’t tended to for another 45 mins and the whole evening took wayyyy longer than necessary as a result. Bustling ambiance and the drinks were fantastic once we got them. Food was ok, but I would come here again for mains. Just snacks and drinks.
Worst hostess in NYC we have met in 5 years
great value for money and atmosphere overall. true NYC gem.
great lunch spot for a business lunch. quiet soho street
Antique Garage has delicious food in an eclectic atmosphere that is totally enjoyable. The food is very fresh and healthy and not overly fussy with ample portions. The service is great and attentive. We sat outside and it was very warm so the waitstaff kept offering us water! So nice!
The appetizer platter is excellent plus the grilled fish, Adana kabab, and seafood pasta were all delicious!
It was fine, the service was very strange and a bit disorganized. Food was fine, but expensive. I won't be returning
Food was fresh and tasty. Prices are higher than what is shown on the website. The only downside was the charge for refills on coffee and iced tea ($6). Realize this is sometimes standard practice in NYC but still annoying.
Portions small for the price of the plate. Would think $80/pp would be more than 1 drink and 1 entree and a shared dessert. Shouldn’t lamb come with rice? Left feeling hungry. Won’t be returning.
I showed up at 9pm for my reservation and never got a table until 1030. The staff were overwhelmed and despite us checking on our table every 15 mins they kept forgetting about us. And even marked our reservation as a no show. When we finally sat down, they rushed us to ordered. The food was okay but the overall experience was terrible. I do not recommend this restaurant.
Great location. Perfect ambiance. Delicious food.
Awesome place, vibes, and the food is great, in the perfect Soho ambience!
Cocktails are $20
Great ambiance and decor.
Food … eh
Nothing to write home about
They tell you there is indoor dining but the place is basically open air. Because the entire front of the restaurant is open. The door is a garage door... The make shift Covid Area has heaters the restaurant does not. This given evening was cold & damp not a comfortable experience. An over booked night looking to make up for lost revenues and a thin wait staff.
We waited for forty minutes for our dinner and it came out cold! Just plain horrible. The manager sitting at the bar smoking & joking with his buddy.
We reserved a table here for an early dinner on a whim, best decision ever! The ambiance was amazing, bumping music. Super cute decor. The servers were very attentive asking how things were every so often and refilling our waters without us asking. The bread that came with the hummus app - so perfectly crunchy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside. Highly recommend!
Good time little pricey great service
While the food is still as good as before, the seating in the outdoor/street structure has no social distancing set up at all. Space is clamped. Our waiter left his shift in the middle of serving our table. Not the best experience we have at this place. Likely won't go back until when things become more normal again.
The thing that saves antique garage from a 4 is that their service was great. Our server was so nice and accommodating. The food was good, drinks were also good but definitely pricey. The vibe was awesome, this is probably one of the more unique restaurants in soho. Biggest issue was my vegetarian friend actually chose this restaurant based off their menus available on their website, when we got there, none of it was available. So the kitchen was nice enough to make her the seafood pasta dish - sans the seafood. Please update your menus on your website so people with food restrictions know what to expect!
The ambiance is nice, the service was great and it's a good location. However that's about where it ends because we were not impressed by the food. Everything we had was just okay and seemed pretty overpriced for what it was. I would go back here for drinks and maybe an app but not for dinner.
Cute decor, Turkish/Mediterranean oriented menu with Spanish music in the background. Very cute and eclectic. Good service and food, although a bit on the pricey side especially for similar fare elsewhere. Enjoyed the ambiance.
The food was delicious. The only thing is that I ordered a kabob. It just came with a jalapeno pepper and some shredded slaw. A little starch, like rice or Bulgar would have been good
The food was all excellent. Highly recommend if you enjoy Greek food.
My friends and I had a birthday dinner here this past weekend (4/17). We were happy to be seated inside, as it was a little chilly outside. The noise level was pretty high, it was hard to even hear the conversation at the table, at times.
The restaurant has great ambiance, it's in a really cool space. The food was excellent as well. My only critique is that the waiter misheard my friends order and was rather rude when we explained to him that the order was incorrect. It does get noisy, so it's understandable to make a mistake.
I just would hope that a party of 4 spending over $600 on dinner (and 2 bottles of wine) would be afforded the benefit of the doubt when we explained something came out incorrectly. Ultimately, they made things right but it gave me enough pause to write this review.
The seared tuna, and seafood pasta were fantastic entrées. The mixed meze platter is a perfect appetizer.
I would certainly return, but I would expect the service to be better.
Great environment for catching up over a meal. Service and food were great. Lots of space and good adherence to covid protocols.
Hostess was super rude and condescending! Not helpful at all. Wouldn’t go back.
The food and the waiter were good. The ambiance was fun. Our night at Antique Garage got ruined by a very rude hostess that kept wanting us to leave for some odd reason. She would stare at our table and roll her eyes. Just completely odd. Anyway, the treatment of the hostess ended ruining our night. Was not a good experience.
My first restaurant after lockdown.
Was great experience
The food was quite good and the staff were friendly. However, the volume and style of music was way too loud and distracting for a Sunday morning brunch with friends who want to catch up, especially during COVID isolation. Turn the music down and save the disco beats for another venue!
We had a lovely lunch on the sidewalk in the sun. My only criticism is that they are using disposable plastic cutlery which is completely unnecessary and such a waste of resources. I hate to think how many they are throwing away every day.
Great food drinks and service highly recommended
I rarely, if ever, write negative reviews. In this case, I'm going to make an exception.
I was incredibly disappointed with the service! The waiter badly sequenced our food. Desert came out with the check after repeated requests for the desert to be delivered (it seemed to have been lost in the kitchen).
The people at the next table had a similar issue. Their salmon entree served while they were less than a third through their mezze appetizer. The waiter brought it back into the kitchen after they refused the entree. The later presented the same fish 30 minutes later (not in great shape). They accepted the fish and then talked about what happened with our earshot.
Additionally, we were served shared appetizers without plates or forks for us and our two guests.
Had the waiter said "We are understaffed" or "I apologize", but he seemed completely unconcerned about our reaction to the service.
To be fair, the restaurant is beautiful and I've eaten at Gourmet Garage in the past and had a good experience. However, this time was a bomb, and I had to apologize to my guests for the poor restaurant service.
It could have just been a bad day, but it's hard to imagine a SoHo restaurant surviving with this type of service!
Nice spot on Mercer and food was good but over-priced
We came without reservation and were accommodated promptly. We could even charge the phones. The staff was really nice and helpful. The drinks came on time and were very tasty. So recommend for a nice brunch 👍🏻
So good! was so cool looking and very open. felt comfortable eating there even during pandemic. drinks were so good, food was so good...
Great food and great service! Cool atmosphere
