Overall we loved it! The decor isn't much to look at but the food makes up for it. The food was outstanding! Two things though that are comments to hopefully help the restaurant improve the service. One, like most restaurants, service stops after dessert is served. The coffee ordered came out after we were finished with dessert. Second, is that we ordered a special appetizer that was called I believe a Sicilian salad but it was all bread/sauce with less than a handful of lettuce/salad so the name was deceiving. Oh and one more...I know Italians drink out of smaller glassware but it really changes the taste of wine. I wish Antique Bakery served wine in proper stemware.
Enjoyed the whole experience dining at Antique Bakery. The only complaint I would have is the white wine was served warm.
Our reseration was at 9:30 PM and we didnt sit until 11:30. The servers and hostesses all didn't even care at all and didnt even apologize
The food, ambiance, and music were great however they get two stars based on their unintelligible reservation policy. I made a reservation right here on OpenTable several weeks in advance under threat of a $150 penalty should I cancel. The day of the restaurant called to confirm and they told me they don’t really take reservations and we just have “priority” and may have to wait up to an hour. Well we waited over two hours alongside several other irate customers in the same situation. They were unapologetic and unhelpful when questioned throughout the night. With all the other restaurants in the area there is no need to put up with lousy customer service.
Great atmosphere and staff
Great food! Nice service. Just get off of OPEN TABLE! Take reservations or don’t. Make a decision. I willl not go back because as good as it is I’m not gonna wait 90 minutes for a table again
The staff was having fun while serving us. Super professional. Food was spectacular. Cocktail hour spectaculer. Went here on a date night with my wife and sat next to the kitchen. Once of the chefs kept handing us extras the entire night. Every single aspect of this place is super awesome - super cool, hip spot. Food out of this world. Staff was awesome. Vibe was awesome. Expensive but worth it. We will definitely be back!!!
Incredible dessert. Neat space. Cheese board was very good, but our entrees were just okay.
Finally got to eat at Antique Bakery after being in Hoboken for six months. I was a little disappointed because the wine was served in tiny glasses at a high price; the lobster in the pasta was colder than expected; and the skirt steak was a little overcooked. On top of that, the bill was ~$200 for two people, which felt steep for the amount of food and drink consumed. Overall, I was pleased, but for that high price point, won't be back soon.
Food was prepared with too much salt and too much oil. In addition, the music was too loud
Made a reservation, had to wait 30 mins to sit. Was told “they don’t take reservations.”
Adorable! Great vibe, great food and great service!
We called to say we were running a few minutes late. They said “no problem”. When we arrived, we were told that tables are first come, first served and we’d have to wait. We waited about 20 minutes and when I asked about our table, I was told that they couldn’t force people to leave. The crowd was very young and there was a special event going on. I got the impression they didn’t want any “older” people there and they were just going to wait it out to see if we’d leave, which of course, we did. We took an Uber to get there from the place we’d eaten dinner and then Ubered back to our car. I can’t comment on anything else because we were never seated. The only thing I would say is that if you’re not going to honor a reservation, then you shouldn’t allow people to make reservations on open table. Waste of our time and money getting to this place.
The service was great. Everyone was friendly. The food was another story. Some entrees were good, but not fabulous. The side portions were small. The broccoli rabe side might’ve been a 1/2 cup at most. The catch of the day was mediocre. For the price tag, I expected to be wowed. I was not.
Food is always good but they are always out of things expected to be on the menu.
Servers were lovely and the food was good - however the wait time was terrible. A restaurant should be turning over tables efficiently at brunch. It's nice to have a relaxed brunch but we waited quite a while for our main dish and then waited way over 30 minutes just for an order of bread pudding for dessert. No bread pudding next time we go!
Would love to come back again with a bigger crowd. Great food and vibe
My fiance and I were so excited to try this place out but we were blown away at the untold price of the special, the ribs. We made the mistake of ordering said ribs and were not alerted by the server what the Market Price was. We ordered it and when we received the bill, we couldn't believe how steep the price was of $115 for this one dish. Our bill ended up being over $325 for just the two of us since we had ordered apps and one bottle of wine as well. The server didn't seem to think twice about the fact that she should have told us the price was going to be almost 4 times the price of any other food item on the menu. We spent way more than we should have, and though the food was good it definitely wasn't worth the price we paid for two people.
Great food and fun place to come with friends or for. Date night. We sat near the kitchen and it was a lot of fun to see how things were prepared.
Set menu for Friday lunch with limited options. Food was good but my friends split a meal. They didn't want to eat too much.
Fun evening sipping creative cocktails from the bar before embarking on a culinary journey with Chef Paul Gerard at the wheel. Food is assembled creatively with a unique blend of ingredients and cooked to perfection in the 30 ton coal oven.
Friends in town
Cute place, but food was limited. I'm sure people go more for cocktails
Love this place! Highly recommend!
Great food, great service and super atmosphere. Looking forward to going again.
The food was amazing! We had a blast and were able to find parking nearby.
Totally over priced. $62 for grilled octopus- Urban Coal House is $15 even better
$116 for steak- go to Ruth Chris 10xs better
$54 lobster with tasteless pasta out of box, go to San Guiseppi many fresh pasta dishes
Loud- is not the word, shout to have a conversation and we were in the best table in the place.
Just bc u were on a Bravo show really doesn’t mean much.
San Guiseppi, Urban Coal House , Delfina’s in the city, much better scene and food
So excited this gem opened up in Hoboken.
Antique Bar & Bakery gives me old school vibes with but in a very chic way.
The ambience is very calm and cool with songs from the 60s & 70s playing in the background. Perfect for a date night or a night out with your girlfriends.
The food & drinks are so delicious.
My recommendations would include; the garlic bread, the blackened Beets, Goat Cheese, Walnuts, the charred broccoli and the Greek fries.
And Dirty Chocolate Cake is INCREDIBLE- but don't order more than one for the table because it is HUGE!
The food and the service was outstanding. Having to wait close to a half an hour to be seated was not great, and the hostess did not go out of her way to ensure that the wait was enjoyable
I will be going back to this restaurant, as I believe in what they are doing, their food is amazing, just don't plan on waiting for my reservation again.
This was our first time here. We had the lobster pasta. Presentation was awesome. It was a little pricey but the flavor was great. The specialty cocktails were ok. I would stay with the standard drinks. Our waitress was ok. We waited a long time for drinks and had to ask for a second round. The cookie desert and chocolate cake were awesome and the sizes were good to share. As mentioned a nice night out. Very loud but t made for a fun evening.
Spaghetti squash carbonara, get it and love your life.
The experience was a bit frustrating- I made a reservation 3 weeks in advance & when we got there the hosts explained their 'seating policy' which basically was first come first serve. We ended up waiting for our table for an hour ! Don't waste your time making a reservation. They just want you to get in the door & buy 2 drinks at the bar before even sitting down.
Antique Bar & Bakery is a special place in Hoboken - it is a place to be seen most certainly. However, they sit parties on an hourly schedule and it is first come first serve. We made a reservation for 6:45 PM and were not seated until 8:30 PM. I believe a better system should be put into place, as this will leave customers dissatisfied.
Great atmosphere. Food delicious but a little over-priced for Brunch. Coffee was a little overly bitter. Service was friendly and professional.
We ordered the Shrimp BBQ and I couldn't take a bite of it. It definitely smelt stale. Wouldn't go again, unfortunately.
Literally the worst service I have ever had at a restaurant. Granted it was our server's first day but everyone else there extremely poor service as well. We waited 40min to be seated for our reservation for brunch. The woman that took our drink order was rushed and forgot waters and so we waited 15min for a glass of water, then she forgot to place our coffee/tea order. She gave us the menus and when we asked her a question she told us that it wasn't her job and walked away. Then our waitress finally gave us our beverages and mixed up iced coffee and iced tea. Then waited another 20min for my iced coffee which came with no milk. I waited another 20min for milk and then finally walked to the coffee bar myself for the milk. The table next to us received the same treatment as well in regards to coffee. The waitress was also unable to answer questions about the menu. The food was ok, definitely nothing special for brunch. The benedict was the strangest combination of flavors. The clench the meal, my napkin dropped on the floor and a server scooped it up before I did and said she was bringing me another one. Well I would've just used the one on the floor, because at that moment the egg from the bene just oozed all over me. and yet I waited another 20min for the new napkin.
Tiny but cozy space. A little too noisy. Great drinks and ambience. Food was excellent. Bring lots of cash. Service was good. Would go back when the weather is nicer.
