Love this place! Brought my friends from California and they loved it too. Rice balls and the carbonara are the best.
Went for my birthday. Excellent food and service. Only issue was the air conditioning wasn't working well and it was very hot inside.
Have been to the restaurant 4 times now, and have had a wonderful experience each time. Have tried a different entree each time, and have had exceptional success. Will definitely return!!!
Excellent food and service
Went to dinner on my birthday with my husband and young son. A wonderful experience from beginning to end. All service staff was helpful and friendly. Ambiance is warm and inviting. We all loved our dishes. I had the traditional tagliatelle with bolognese sauce. The sauce was rich and delicious, full of chunks of beef and sausage. I had the caesar salad which was good, but nothing spectacular. My son got the ravioli with marinara sauce and he loved it. The server was very accommodating and made it easy for us to change the sauce to one my son liked. My husband had the rib eye with rosemary sauce that was super flavorful. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and will definitely return.
This has become our favorite restaurant when we want to treat ourselves. The spaghetti carbonara and the spaghetti bolognese are incredible!
Excellent food. The wait was a little long, but they were short staffed and doing their best. Delicious food and fun atmosphere.
It is a nice place for a family occasion. Saturday night is usually pretty busy so be prepared for slower service than usual if there are large groups being served. The food is of high quality and meticulously prepared. One reason service takes time is it is served Italian style with gaps between courses. Servers are highly trained and courteous even when they are very busy. The food would be rated excellent by most customers. My rate in dollars: $$$$. Enjoy.
We LOVE this restaurant. The old world Italian decor and the service is excellent every time. You cannot beat the Carbonara and also love the gnocchi dishes. Rarely have room for dessert but we usually take something home, soooo good! We have been to most of the Sicilia Mia sites, they are all a bit different in style but the food and service are consistently excellent! Highly suggest you make a reservation!
It was a warm night, but we got to be seated next to the portable air conditioner. If we hadn't been, it would have been pretty stuffy in there. Our server was very attentive and answered all our questions. The food was very good. We enjoyed our evening there very much.
Excellent food, the service was great, and it was a wonderful evening for us. Will visit again.
This has become my favorite restaurant in Salt Lake City. The food is outstanding and the people are wonderful.
Excellent restaurant! Although I made a reservation on a weekday, it was not needed upon arrival at 5:15pm. My experience exceeded my expectations! The Spaghetti Carbonara was phenomenal! The service was exceptional! The price very reasonable for the quality and service. Thanks!
We had a wonderful time visiting with old friends, and enjoying our meal. The service was great. The food was delicious, especially the Carbonara table-side event. It was our first visit at Antica Sicilia, except for one of the group who recommended it. We sang VOLARE together, as one couple was flying off to Italy for 2 years (hopefully the other diners were impressed that we knew all the words and could entertain them a bit for free). It was a great choice! Grazie mille!!
Always a pleasure to eat here. Regardless of the main course, the food is always more than delicious, the staff are friendly and professional. I brought friends from California this time and they were impressed with everything.
The food was excellent as usual but it took an hour to get our food and the waiter never did bring us our salads.
We have been to Antica Sicilia several times in the past, and have been treated fine at those visits. Tonight we had a reservation for my wife’s birthday and were looking forward to trying some dishes we have never had at any previous visits. When we arrived, the hostess spoke very softly and I had trouble hearing her. I told her we had a reservation and she immediately turned and began speaking to someone else. I assumed she must have been handling something more important so I turned to talk to my wife. When I turned back, the hostess was gone and across the room at the table leaving menus. We hurried over and sat down with only the assumption that this was our table. We waited for 10 minutes and at that point several other tables around us had guests seated. After another 5 minutes, those tables all had water and were placing their orders. We still hadn’t even had someone from the wait staff even acknowledge us so we knew that we would be taken care of eventually. After another 5 minutes, my wife and I both felt uncomfortable and decided that at that point, a 20 minute wait was the staffs way of telling us we either were not welcome, or that we weren’t important enough. We walked to the front and told the staff who had been having a conversation the entire time that it appeared that no one was going to serve us. The hostess and the 2 other staff members shrugged their shoulders and went back to their conversation. I’ve become fairly used to the poor service in all lines of business in the Salt Lake area, but being completely ignored until we just left is definitely a new one. The owner should be ashamed at how potentially paying customers were treated, and that they ruined a Birthday dinner. I wouldn’t stand for this if owned a restaurant, and I hope the owner is proactive and involved enough to try to make sure that this doesn’t happen to another customer. Eventually enough people are allowed to be treated this way, and then few customers return.
We had tried to get into Sicilia Mia but our preferred location (highland and 4500 S) was booked so we decided to try “a new place”. We didn’t realize this restaurant was in the Sicilia Mia family (even has “Sicilia Mia” on the menu) so while we were disappointed not to be trying a new place, we were very happy with the results. We love Sicilia Mia!
Awesome food and service. I would recommend this restaurant.
Service was slow. Our server also had a couple of big parties. He was swamped.
My wife was disappointed in her branzino sea bass. Tasted fishy. And the lemon sauce was over-powering.
Lasagna serving was very small or $20.
Amazing food! Especially the giant cheese wheel.
I have been to Antica Sicilia twice now and their food is absolutely delightful. Haven't had anything I didn't love. Highly recommend.
We love the carbonara!
Wonderful meal with all great flavors and wonderful quality. Suggest the meat and cheese board for sure but they do vary with what you get from each location. The desserts are okay to skip. They are good just not great. Our serving staff was wonderful and very accommodating. It's a great date night.
Antica Sicilia serves authentic Italian food in an exquisite setting with views of Italy painted all around. The food is divine. My husband ordered pizza while I got pasta, which gave us a great look into the greatness of both while finishing off with homemade chocolate cake and pudding.
The food is amazing! Positively the best Italian food we’ve ever tasted!
Antica Sicilia gave us a terrific dining experience. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable. We felt right at home. There was a wide selection of dining choices and everything we ordered was delicious. Elegance and quality. We will return.
Fantastic Italian fare. Best Italian restaurant in town. Good service.
Great service. Delightful staff. This remains one of my favorite places.
Excellent menu and preparation. Our selections were excellent and delicious.
We met family at Antica Sicilia midway on a drive from Aspen Colorado to California. They got us in and out efficiently albeit Utah law apparently would not let our dog sit on their outdoor patio. the salads, burrata and bruschetta were all solid. My Nona ravioli was tasty although it is not stacked high but served low in a bowl. Their signature pasta carbonara made tableside in a wheel of parmesan reggiano was good but underwhelming. We would return.
The service was very slow, took about 45-50 minutes for food to arrive after ordered. The changes in the menu are not receptive to us, quality of the food not as good as other visits. Otherwise it was an okay dining experience.
Would love to give this restaurant 5 stars. Unfortunately, service wasn't great & food not as good as previous visit
1st visit- we had what we can only assume was a new server. He was kind but not knowledgeable re: wine list or menu.
I previously had the house fav Carbonara at a diff location & talked my daughter into ordering. Server made the pasta & we were served what appeared to be one serving just split between two plates & of course charged for 2 entrees. I didn’t mention as my daughter & I wouldn’t have finished a full order & pasta was fantastic. Service was extremely slow. We understand new employees & we weren’t in a hurry. All entrees ordered were amazing Carbonara Ravioli, pizza, spaghetti
2nd visit-Immediately greeted & seated. Immediately had water filled. Then nothing for 25-30 mins. Had same server as 1st visit. He was more knowledgeable about menu. However, service wasn’t any better. There was a special but we weren’t told about it. We ordered wine & appetizers. 35 mins later we received our wine. 20 min after that we had bread brought over. 30 mins later our appetizer arrived. We then placed our orders. My friend & I ordered a chicken dish. We were told prior to placing this order it would be served w/ saffron rice. When we received our order 55 mins later it was served with instant potatoes & lukewarm. I understand it is normally served w/ potatoes, however this is not how we ordered & the server said “I guess they have potatoes ” No offer to bring us the rice we ordered. We didn’t request it because we had already waited so long for EVERYTHING! Our husbands ordered spaghetti bolognese it was fantastic. We were never checked on about our food. We had to hunt for someone to bring Parmesan. No dessert offered. We expect fine dining to take time. But tables seated after us in larger groups were served & left prior to us. Felt rushed to get out while still finishing meal. Closing time! Will go back, won’t accept the same server.
Food was good. Menu was not very descriptive and we ordered the spinach salad which was warm. We did not expect that. Carbonara was great and fun to be prepared table side. We had a great time except for the service. We had a 5:30 reservation, were on time, but from the minute we sat down the waiter hurried us along. He even made my wife order while I was in the bathroom. We had hoped for a nice calm dinner. It turned into a race.
WAY WAY WAY OVERPRICED!!! Food was very yummy, but wow...prices!
What happened to this quaint Italian restaurant with incredible food and service?
Maybe it’s because all locations are now combined but this place is nothing close to what it was a year ago.
Lasagna came out in a tiny round container, the appetizer had no taste just a bunch of tomatoes on bread. Couldn’t find a server to ask for anything and the receptionist was taking a phone call for 15 minutes when we arrived. Place is not busy at all, seems others have gotten the word on the change which is too bad this place used to be a perfect addition to mill creek. Sorry to say we won’t be back.
We have been to this restaurant twice and both times were happy with our food. The staff there is very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.
Mothers 95 birthday dinner. I told them, they did nothing to make it a special night. Everything else was quite good but not great. Would I good back? Probably....
Been here many times food is always good. Looks like they have combined all their restaurants and now have the same menu. Also it looks like all the servers are rotating thru their restaurants, this isn’t bad I was just used to the staff previously. I’m wondering if trey will change the name to Sicilia Mia?
To be honest, I think this place gets a lot more buzz than it needs to. I wasn't overly impressed with the food! The pasta is a bit dry and there were no standout dishes at our table. The food scene is competitive in SLC and there are many more restaurant options I'd visit again before going back to Antica Sicilia. The service was good and everyone was friendly, but the food was nothing special!!
