Best carbonara I've had. Great service. A bit pricey for drinks. Would recommend not buying their cocktails since they were quite watered down.
I had dined at Antica Sicilia once before. Due to an allergy, I must eat gluten-free. When I ate at Antica Sicilia previously, they had a gluten-free menu from which I could select my dinner. This time, there was no gluten-free menu, and they had no gluten-free pasta options, period. I have to say that, overall, I was disappointed, and probably will not eat at Antica Sicilia in the future. Gluten-free is not a lifestyle choice for me; it is a matter of life and death, literally. If you have no need to eat gluten-free, Antica Sicilia would be an excellent choice.
This was my first time there. We will be back soon!!
This was our 3rd or 4th visit to Antica and it wasn't bad, just not up to their normal standards. Service was just OK compared to our other experiences and a little slow. My traditional lasagna was just ok in taste and not firmed up; kind of soupy. Jamie's Salmone al Limone was excellent while the baked mashed potatoes were not so good. I think their specialty Spaghetti alla Carbonara and the Tagliatelle della Nonna are their two best dishes. We have been to all 4 of their Salt Lake City Valley locations several times each and I think the small Cottonwood Heights location has consistently had the been service and the best food. Just my opinion.
It was my best friends 31st birthday and we were greeted warmly the moment we stepped foot into the restaurant. The rustic ambience and atmosphere was homey and chique. The food and presentation was excellent, and the service perfect!
We love this restaurant- service was slower than usual-
We used to dine here quite often and this was the first time we had been back in several months. We brought friends with us and overall it was an okay experience. It did seem that the service was much slower than usual - meals took longer to prepare. I had ordered 2 salads as my entree and they arrived quite awhile after the other three entrees (did they have to run to the store for the spinach? And where were my pine nuts?). The carbonara was wonderful - as always. The lasagna was a disappointment to one of our guests - too cheesy and it looked more like lasagna soup than a nice piece of meaty lasagna. Understanding that it was a Tuesday night we could cut them some slack. But for the prices, it may be awhile before we come back again.
Great dinner out with friends
I have been searching for a good Italian restaurant since moving here from Switzerland. I was pleasantly surprised by their quality of food. Having grown up with an Italian grandma (actually from Italy). I have been exposed to delicious Italian food, more specifically her amazing bolognese. I am always skeptical about ordering it, as no place has ever made it justice. I finally found a restaurant that happily makes me remember my Nonna. Thank you Antica Sicilia for having such amazing food. I will be coming back!
Great food and waiter. Little too noisy. Food took a little long to arrive.
We went to Antica Sicilia for Christmas Eve, and although the food was pretty good, the service was awful and it took over an hour to get our food. We arrived before the rush, so we couldn’t figure out why our food took so long. We ordered as soon as we got there, & then sat waiting and waiting, repeatedly being apologized to because it was “busy”. We overheard other diners complaining of similar situations, one even chastising the owner when he tried to pawn it off on the waiter, & telling him that it wasn’t the waiters fault they were understaffed( they customer had waited 25 minutes just to get his credit card swiped!) We were seated at the table closest to the entrance & every time the door opened it was a freezing gust of wind. There probably shouldn’t be seating that close to the entrance in the winter. Our waiter, Chris, was super unfriendly. Probably because he was being overworked. We might try again in the future, but definitely not on a night that matters!
Christmas Eve dinner was fabulous! Thanks for being open and so welcoming. Loved the food and the atmosphere.
The staff was very nice while I waited for the rest of my party. The table was perfect and we didn't feel rushed. Food was delicious as always. We have so many favorites that it's hard to decide. Thank you for making our family holiday dinner memorable.
The items we selected seemed to be more about presentation than quality of food. We had gnocchi and it was much better when we were there six months ago and also previous times. The portions were very small for a $20 plate. Your overall restaurant does not justify the high prices you charge, so I will not be coming back anymore.
BEST ITALIAN FOOD IN SALT LAKE CITY- INCREDIBLE SERVICE, AMBIENCE AND EVERY DISH IS AMAZING- LOVED IT- OUR ONE STOP AND ONLY STOP FOR AUTHENTIC ITALIAN CUISINE-
When we arrived we were told they didn’t have our reservation. I was supposed to respond to an email that I was keeping our reservation. We were told that we could have a table but we had to eat and leave in an hour. Over priced and small portions. The tiramisu was bland. When we left (in under an hour), the restaurant still had many empty tables. We won’t go back.
The food was delicious as always, especially the carbonara made table side.👍
Our waiter really made our experience very nice. He was especially knowledgeable about the menu, very friendly and gave great recommendations. We were served on time too.
Not our first visit and won't be our last. Food was very good as always and our waiter was not only very attentive but we even got him to sing a couple of lines from a nice Italian opera.
The food is fantastic, the service needs work. But, we'll be back!
It is so enjoyable to dine at Antica Sicilia. They make you feel like you are part of the family and it always feels like a celebration. And the food is amazing!
You always feel like you are their family when you dine there. They take extraordinary care to make you feel welcome. The food is really delicious. The menu has anything in Italian fare you would like. Overall its consistent and you can count on a wonderful evening.
Fantastic food, service and setting. They really know how to run a restaurant!
I think that they haven’t quite got things re-organized after the re-opening. Service was somewhat lacking when we first got there, but improved after awhile. New menu has deleted some of my favorites, but what I substituted was very good.
We celebrated by husbands 50th birthday with a party of 15. The servers were very attentive, made great suggestions and overall took great care of our table. They were very accommodating and I was able to come early and decorate, which was a total surprise to my husband. I highly recommend Anitca Sicilia for either a party or just dinner with your sweetheart or family. Thank you for making my husband birthday a success!
Great find in South Salt Lake area! Authentic Sicilian cuisine made even more authentic by Italian staff and owners. Can't wait to return!
Great food, great service. Could not ask for more from a restaurant. We had reservations and were seated right away.
Lighting was terrible for our 2-seat table -- the light above us was SUPER bright, casting shadows all across our faces and lighting us up like a dancer on stage. The waitress had a super thick asian accent and was very difficult to understand. They were out of both things on the menu that my girlfriend tried to order. Their cheapest bottle of wine was $40 and most menu items were $25-$45... for a place this expensive I expected a lot more.
The best Italian food!
Started with the Fritto Misto which had calamari shrimp and arranchini. Had their signature carbonara and the gnocchi. Shared a steak. It was all very good.
Food was great. We were seated right by the door, across from people who were waiting for tables. Not good. It was COLD, from the door opening frequently. Very bad spot for a table. Service was mediocre at best.
Always delicious. Their remodel is beautiful!
Not quite as good as before they closed for remodel, but still a good option.
Food was pretty good , however, the service needs lot of improvement.
We have always loved Antica. We have always spoke highly of the food, the owner and the experience. Unfortunately our last time there will probably be our last time there. The food was not great. There was not a lot of flavor. The service was super slow (and I understand that it was their first night back open from their remodel) however the menu was completely different, leaving out some of their amazing dishes that we have had in the past. My big suggestion would be bring back the old menu, and remember your signature dishes that make your restaurant what it once was. We are very sad that we probably will not be dining here again.
Love this place! Brought my friends from California and they loved it too. Rice balls and the carbonara are the best.
Went for my birthday. Excellent food and service. Only issue was the air conditioning wasn't working well and it was very hot inside.
Have been to the restaurant 4 times now, and have had a wonderful experience each time. Have tried a different entree each time, and have had exceptional success. Will definitely return!!!
Excellent food and service
Went to dinner on my birthday with my husband and young son. A wonderful experience from beginning to end. All service staff was helpful and friendly. Ambiance is warm and inviting. We all loved our dishes. I had the traditional tagliatelle with bolognese sauce. The sauce was rich and delicious, full of chunks of beef and sausage. I had the caesar salad which was good, but nothing spectacular. My son got the ravioli with marinara sauce and he loved it. The server was very accommodating and made it easy for us to change the sauce to one my son liked. My husband had the rib eye with rosemary sauce that was super flavorful. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and will definitely return.
