I have visited this restaurant many times and every single time I have an A+ experience. Last light however , the service was not top notch.

Really nice restaurant with high quality of service and food. However, the branzino with asparagus was a deception and far too expensive for what it was: one slice of fish filet and 4 asparagus...Maybe we did misunderstand the concept.

The pork was not good. The meat was dry and tasted old. The apple sauce was more of a smear then a sauce. Couldn’t finish it. The appetizer salad was good.

We had Easter Sunday dinner reservations. The ambiance is always great and the service is good. We were very disappointed with the food on the Easter Sunday menu. The starter salads were ok, nothing great. The fish entree was good, but a very small portion for the price. The breaded lamb chops were completely overcooked (beyond well done), and was very disappointing. The pasta entree was good. Unfortunately, the quality of the food is not very consistent at Antica Pesa. We all walked out after dinner wanting more. Not sure if we will go back...too many great restaurants in the hood that is consistent with their quality of food.

I usually do not write negative reviews, but this was egregiously bad. DH and I wanted to spend a romantic quiet Easter dinner with lovely food and wine. We ordered the Easter menu, a four course meal and a bottle of nice wine. The first two courses were somewhat flavorful, but extraordinarily salty. The main course was lamb chops, which someone apparently felt would be improved by pounding them thin, applying a thick, tasteless breading, and then frying. Sadly, this person was very wrong and even DH, normally the most tolerant of men, capable of eating leftover baby food, was appalled. The desert was not bad but by then we were done. The waiter was nice.
Thank you for your feedback. The lamb you ordered is a very typical dish in Rome and it is prepared in that same way but our regular menu has many more other dishes that you may enjoy better so if you would like to come back again, we are sure you will find something you love.

The service here is always hit or miss (depending on how celebrified you are, or how alluring, you may fare better), but it is after all a Roman thing. ;-) Food is predictably stellar (with very rare misses), as it was on this evening. A stand-out Brooklyn restaurant with a flair for the original and inventive.

We were made to feel distinctly unwelcome. On arrival, the two of us apologised for our brief delay (15 minutes exactly). When we gave the name of our reservation, we were met with a mix of incredulity and hostility, because the hostess could not find our reservation on the system (despite it being here on opentable and confirmed via email hours before). We had to show that the reservation existed on our phone, and the interaction was distinctly awkward. No apologies were offered at all. We were instead told, quite curtly, that 'we were late anyways' and that we could only - as if it were a courtesy! - be given a table for 1 and a half hours max, and then we'd have to leave. For unrelated reasons, we subsequently had to leave because two friends needed to join and this was understandably not possible because of the (already overbooked) situation. Highly disappointing service.

My waitress Cristina provided the best service I've had in a really long time for a dining experience. She was so good I even told the manager later she's a superstar. If I ever go back it will be because the service was so excellent.

So this restaurant is supposed to be an Italian place. The burrata I ordered came warm in a "feuillete" which is typically not the way it's served in Italy or Europe in general. My pasta were undercooked, my wife's shellfish salad was clearly not fresh, was chewy and not seasoned. The best came for desert when I read on the menu that "all desserts are made in house by the Chef": I ordered an Affogato and I got very surprised by the absence of crostini which were actually replaced by industrial lady fingers probably coming straight from a supermarket. I asked the server if this dessert was made in house, and he said "oh no, only expresso is made in house, the rest is imported". Well, I can go to the bodega and buy ice cream and cookies imported from Italy too. This place is a scam, especially for the price you pay for.

Such a great spot in I cool neighborhood, fantastic wine list, authentic pastas, great atmosphere. We brought friends who had never been, who are from Manhattan, and they fell in love with it and will definitely be back. We had the late seating on a Saturday, and the kitchen was a little delayed, but it by no means comprised the enjoyment of the experience. And the complimentary dessert assortment was much appreciated.

Excellent Food, Great Service, and this place has the Vibe of great energy and music with fun and sophisticated clientele and everything just right, even the wood burning fireplace with the vintage leather
sofa so inviting where you can sit waiting to be seated or for an after dinner drink. Love this restaurant!

Very disappointed with food. We were starving and looking forward to a delicious dinner. First off, it’s Wednesday and there are no specials? Strange. Started with arugula salad and fried zucchini. Followed by pasta dishes which were relatively bland and in small portions. Tiramisu was alright. You know when you force yourself to eat out of need but are not gratified? That’s how we felt after. Disappointing.
I expected more from a restaurant originating from Rome. Decor is pretty, the fireplace seems cozy. Maitre D and waiters were nice and polite but slow to serve bread, which wasn’t warm. The kitchen was slow as heck even though the place was more than half empty.

We never offered specials on regular days in the past (just holidays) but we are starting now with a pre-set menu on weekdays which includes 4 courses plus a glass of wine for $42! Our recipes are authentically Italian as our chefs are from Italy and trained in our original location in Rome. We hope you do come back and try us again soon!
I have eaten at the one in Rome. Which is way better than Brooklyn.
It was my daughters Birthday. The up sold me some crappy wine with sediment in it.The food was not good at all. The Chicken was over cooked the pasta was way under cooked. They never even offered a discount for the poorly cooked food. Would not recommend. I spent over $400. For $150 meal.
Thank you for your feedback. Please be aware that sediment in wine is a naturally occurring process during the fermentation and aging process so you should not be concerned by it! Our chef also is very passionate about how he prepares the pasta to be perfectly al dente but of course we have many other menu options on our menu to try. We hope to see you again soon!
