Went there on a fruend’s recommendation. Was very happy with our special night out. Everyone was absolutely wonderful. Even looked across at next table & saw Jon Voight dining. Will definitely go back when we want to have a special evening !!
Beautiful atmosphere. Good service and ok food. Definitely worth going even though expensive for what you eat
Great food. Excellent!!!!
Excellent food and great service for a special occasion
Excellent food from beginning to end. Good service. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere.
The service and food was excellent.
We hadn’t dined here in awhile and decided to go back on Friday night. Now I know why we haven’t gone here more, despite the fact it’s a lovely, warm room, with a great looking menu and a terrific negroni. That’s about where all the good stuff stopped. We ordered two appetizers: calamari and octopus. The calamari, despite a pretentious table pouring of “prosciutto stock” had no flavor and was so chewy it had to be cut into small pieces and doused with salt to make it palatable. The octopus was fine but nothing special. My husband likes fish, and ordered the only fish entree, branzino, with a glass of wine. The smallest pour I’ve ever seen! Two sips and he didn’t have enough wine to go with his main course! I decided not to order a glass after seeing what they brought him. His fish was a tiny piece, also with no flavor. I ordered the pasta with clams—the pasta was delicious, but only 7 small clams on top and that for $32. We skipped dessert and coffee. The bill was $200 and we left hungry. Sorry but we won’t be back.
Love the food and great drinks!
Here before and will be here again
best italian restaurant in the city.
We love Francesco Pamela! The steak for two is delicious!
I love this place. Found it on open table and I keep coming back. The staff is attentive and so friendly. The fireplace gives the restaurant a warm ambience and the decor is modern but simple. I would recommend this place to everyone and already have!
Not worth the money good drinks that’s about it menu limited pizzeria food in restaurant atmosphere desert terrible
Eh. Drawn in by the decor (it's gorgeous) but a little disappointed on the food, ESPECIALLY disappointed on the service. The Schiaffoni was undercooked -- more dente than al dente. The sauce was salty. For only having 6 tables on a Tuesday night, it felt like we were getting the shaft from our waiters, as their friends were in, or how we looked or dressed or our age. Unsure, but I definitely wont be coming back or recommend anyone. Save your time and money! Lilia or other great Italian restaurants are nearby.
The food is almost as bad as the service. Really disappointing. I've been twice. I was willing to give it a second chance. My mistake. Was just as bad as the first visit. Very average food with horrid service.
Mamma Mia!!!! Che dire:
fantastic experience, great Italian food in a beautiful restaurant with great atmosphere.
very kind staff.
I recommend it because it is true Italian restaurant cuisine and a preparation of dishes reminds the italian mamma ‘s kitchen.
Parmesan and truffle risotto is the best I have ever eaten ... even in Italy
Per noi italiani lo consiglio perché è vero ristorante italiano con cucina curata e con una preparazione delle pietanze che ricorda la cucina della mamma.
Il Risotto parmigiano e tartufo è il migliore che abbia mai mangiato ... anche in Italia.
Fantastic food, wonderful service, great wine!
The food is always good and the service is always exceptional. Antica Pesa is my go to special dinner restaurant.
This restaurant was on our radar for a while and wanted to visit since we missed our opportunity in Rome this past summer. We were very excited for our time here and close to home. Unfortunately, there was a issue with our reservation on our end and we did not have a table for the right night. The hostess was very nice and made sure to let us know that while we did not have a table guaranteed, she was going to do her best to get us in. We waited for 2 hours until we got a table, because we had come all this way to eat here and did not want to leave. However, once seated, the service was not what we expected. We did not have water brought to us, even though 3 people asked us what we wanted to drink. The food was good... When it was time for us to pay, they brought the bill and we immediately handed back for the server to close us out. This took about 20 minutes. The restaurant was busy, when we got there, but two hours later and closer to midnight, the restaurant was not that busy for us to wait that long to close out. In addition, it seemed like if you spoke Italian you got better more engaging service and this was very uncomfortable.
I took my girlfriend of a year and a half on a date to Antica Pesa, and it was as romantic and beautiful as I had hoped. The lighting was dim soft candlelight, the waiters, waitresses, hostesses, and other staff were all polite, proper, and attentive.
The food was better than I had hoped, the wine was well chosen, and one can tell a lot of effort goes into keeping that establishment running well.
I would definitely recommend this if shopping around for a new date night spot in Brooklyn.
Antica Pesa is a ‘must go’ restaurant! One of three locations in the world of this Italian Family restaurant dynasty. The Brooklyn outpost is helmed by Lorenzo, one of the three Panella brothers, who is the ultimate host making you feel like a close friend and regular. Amazing authentic food not typically found in a NYC Italian spot. Cacio e Pepe as it was intended to be! And the steak Fiorentina will stop you in your tracks.
Do not miss this!
The food was absolutely delicious. Authentic Italian. And in a beautiful space.
I took my husband out for his birthday here.
The quality of the food was exceptional and everything tasted good albeit the food and wine portions were smaller than what we were expecting, especially for the price. But the restaurant itself is beautiful and warming.
The octopus appetizer was cooked perfectly tender, as was the butternut squash ravioli (though we wished there was more filling; the pasta to filling ratio was way off). My husband ordered the duck and I ordered the sole. I'd recommend the duck without hesitation.
I was not a huge fan of the chocolate panna cotta but the tiramisu was divine and actually a very generous portion. I'd come back for a special occasion for sure.
My biggest gripe is that when I first made the reservation, I put in a special request to include a birthday candle in his dessert, which they did not do despite the fact we were one of two tables in the entire restaurant, but c'est la vie.
Authenic italian place with great vibes. Love this place and will be back.
I love it.. great place, great food, go!
Food is always amazing. Menu seems to have a larger number of choices.... good plan .
Ristorante italiano con la I maiuscola. Ambiente meraviglioso, sembra di stare a casa. Un plauso a tutto lo staff, dai ragazzi in sala ai ragazzi in cucina.
Loved every bite!
My husband and I have been coming here for years. It gets better every time we dine here.
The owners make you feel so welcome, and they always deliver a fabulous dining experience!!
Good food, wonderful atmosphere great people! Recommended
This place was delicious in every way, of course the food was absolutely amazing, the ambiance, the decor, and the staff was super attentive. I would highly recommend!
Antica Pesa is a treasure. We are so fortunate to have this authentic Italian spot in Williamsburg. Love the fireplace and overall atmosphere plus the food and service are terrific.
