About Antica Pesa
Originating in Rome in 1922, this family run business came state-side to open a New York location in 2012. Both establishments follow two fundamental guidelines: to rework traditional recipes from Roman cuisine and to utilize local, seasonal and mostly organic products, with a nod to modern trends. In 2015, the family opened a third Antica Pesa in Doha, Qatar as they continue in their international pursuit to share their cuisine and ideology.

Antica Pesa Ratings and Reviews
The hostess were very nice but our waiter was terrible. For the amount of money you pay there should be better service. He forgot a few of our desserts and then forgot to put a candle on one of them. Felt like he was rushing us out. The food is good but not worth the $$$. Don't think I'll be coming back here.
It was my first time at the restaurant and I was disappointed The food was very ordinary Italian food. Much of it was well prepared but it was not very interesting. The service was hyper-active and constantly at the table trying to take plates. They served bread once and then took away the bread plates which was odd. Overall, not in keeping with Italian restaurants which are in the same price range.
This is an awesome restaurant. I have been to the one in Rome and it was amazing, I didn't think the Brooklyn one could be as good but I was wrong. The service is impeccable, the food is spectacular and the ambience makes you feel like you are indeed in Rome. Lorenzo and his staff make everyone feel welcome. This is absolutely a 5 star restaurant.
Very authentic Italian food. Loved the Italian ham and mozzarella appetizer. The steak for two looked amazing. Had the fish with mushrooms ,it was very good but small plate. Wife had the chicken which was huge. They could use a better dessert menu. Decorating is very hip and happening, upscale.
One of the worst dining experiences I have had in quite a while. I rarely write a review, but I feel that I must write this one. In the past, I loved this restaurant and recommended it to many others. I had a friend in town for a birthday weekend and took her there specifically. The ambiance is still charming; however, everything else is awful. The whole evening felt more like a hostage situation than a dining experience. Despite each course taking forever to arrive, in a only half-filled restaurant, the food was disappointing in every aspect (presentation, appearance, and more importantly taste). There were 4 of us, so we ordered quite a few dishes. All were bad. Even the tomatoes tasted off. I could probably spend a entire paragraph on our sever. In the interest of brevity, let me just say that the service industry is not his calling and he would be better in a profession where personal interaction is not required. At one point, I began to wonder if the restaurant was now being this bad on purpose (the owner perhaps needs to show a financial loss). I sincerely wonder how so many things could be bad in a one time amazing restaurant. DO NOT GO HERE. I hope the restaurant regains its prior excellence, but I don't know if I would be willing to roll the dice to check.
The lasagna was smooth and tasty; the pork belly was inedible, so tough it could not be sliced at t he table and had to be taken to the kitchen to be cut. The waiter did not register surprise when I asked for a sharper knife and it was he who suggested that the meat be cut in the kitchen. He should have taken the dish back and suggested something else. I never had meat that I could not cut.
Food was mediocre at best. Overwhelming aroma of pesto on a Burrata salad-total turn off as well as the beef tartare. Pasta was mediocre. wine was overpriced. Service was good ambiance good. Way better Italian in Williamsburg this one was two blocks from home finally tried it, unfortunately it was total miss.
Horrible service. Have never written a negative review but from the moment we walked in the staff was nasty and unaccomodating. Especially the you girls at the front desk. When we were shown to our table all the way in the back we asked nicely if we could have a table up front. There were 3 empty ones in the front. She told us they were all reserved. Turns out they weren't reserved And after 45 minutes we were taken to a table up front. Potions were minuscule. Two of us ordered pasta and 2 ordered branzini. The pasta was the potion of a small appetizer size and the branzini was about a 4 inch fillet. Never will return. Don't waste your money- too many other good places to dine in the area.
Amazing food, service was impeccable, staff was warm and hospitable....went with friends for a special occasion, loved everything about it. The minute you are greeted by the ladies in the front, you get the ambiance of the place. Highly recommend it and we will be returning soon!!!!
Wonderful! Wonderful! Our meal choices were excellent... fettuccini with tomatoes and eggplant purée and branzino. The dessert was one of the best we've ever had.... coffee granita with whipped cream, chocolate mini puffs and white chocolate bark. Oh, my!
The restaurant will definitely be on our "go to" list.
Overall it was a very disappointing experience. It positions itself as a high end restaurant -- with prices that are high end -- and then delivers average food and service. Other restaurants in the neighborhood offer better food at a much better value.
