It was our first time there and they definitely made it an unforgettable experience. Lorena took great care of us and we’ll be going back very very often.
Food taste was excellent but my wife’s veal and my veal entrees were tough. May try again but not soon.
Antica Osteria is a comfortable spot for a special occasion. The service is attentive but not intrusive. The food is excellent. The wine list is solid.
If there were more stars to score service....I’d give a 10 star rating. We had 9 at our table that night with a couple of late arrivals from the airport. The service timing, graciousness, and attention was superb! As always, excellent food!
The food, as usual, never disappoints, but the table was too small for the four of us and downstairs, beyond the bar, is too crowded.
Great food, great service! Gorgonzola cream sauce on the gnocchi was unreal!!
Outstanding food, great service. Would recommend hands down!!!!
Great experience. The parking could be better.
In my opinion the finest Italian restaurant in Houston
This restaurant is in Rice Village and they have valet parking. If you are familiar with Rice Village parking you can truly appreciate the valet. We are in Houston every couple of months and this is a place we consistently go back to. The food is wonderful and the staff and service are great. We have not a single complaint.
Excellent food and service in a cozy lively environment.
The noise level was so high that we couldn’t hear the server tell us about the specials. I will not ever go back.
Excellent meal and lovely service until after we paid. Then we were left alone and water glasses not refilled. To be fair we lingered a bit but others were still there and there were plenty of empty tables in case someone arrived.
Four of us went for dinner this past weekend. Some dishes were a hit (octopus salad) while some were a miss (lamb shank). Lamb shank lacked seasoning and the penne served with the shank were so overcooked that they were mushy. Food is usually better - was disappointed.
Great experience and food! We love tis place. Ever had a had bad time! Looking forward to coming back.
As someone who grew up in Italy and moved to the US in his 20s, I love Antica Osteria for its quaint atmosphere, for its authenticity as well as for the fine Italian gourmet dining experience that it offers to its guests.
The owner Velio, who also was born in Italy, has created a charming and family Italian style living room restaurant that Houston is lucky to have and that I enjoy dining at every chance I have.
It goes without saying but the food, which combines a variety of traditional dishes from a variety of regions in Italy, is light while rich in traditional Italian flavors and taste.
The food was great, the staff was excellent in service and friendly. I will definitely return
My mom’s favorite spot, we visited antica osteria twice in one week! Best spaghetti bolognese I’ve ever had, second trip had delicious shrimp in wine sauce. Appetizer, salad and desserts were also excellent. And the wait staff is top notch. Will be back when next in town to visit Mom!
This is a great place. The food and service was outstanding. My wife and I meet a couple that I had not seen since high school. The waiter realized early that we had lots to catch up on. He did not push us to order. We took twice as long to have dinner as it normally would have. I really appreciated how they let us have a good time.
Absolutely stunning and perfect.
One of our favorite restaurants. Love the ambiance, the owners and servers and most of all the food is always delicious.
My wife and I have been dining at Antica for nearly as long as it's been open. Not just because it's familiar, has the most personable and remakable service and food, and has the ambiance that reminds us of all the previous times we've enjoyed our meals there. It's also because there are literally few places like it in the places we've traveled and dined before.
Wonderful service! Loved the atmosphere. Food was fantastic as always.
Antica Osteria nevr fails to satisfy ands impress. I love this place!
Nice ambience, but a bit loud when full. Authentic Italian Carbonara and a tasty veal scallopini with mushrooms for my entree. Will definitely return.
Ray continues to oversee a restaurant with attentive staff, delicious food, and cozy ambience. We recently entertained out of town friends who thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Looking forward to our next evening at Antica Osteria!
Great restaurant! Was my second time there and even better than the first.
The meat (filet mignon and lamb chops) was rancid. We sent back the chops only to get more rancid meat (filet mignon). It was inedible. In addition, the potatoes were burnt, as well as, their coffee.
We like to think that Antica Osteria is one of our go-to date night locations. This past visit (Feb 17) was a delayed Valentine's Day evening. The food was excellent as usual, however service seemed VERY rushed. We made our Open Table reservation for 2 at the end of January and had no issues with being seated for a 7:00 pm table. We had completed our appetizers and finishing our wine, and based on our previous experience we assumed it was close to 8:15-8:30...we looked down and it was 7:45 and our bill was waiting on the table. When we did leave at 8, there was a line out the door and the host/hostess was comping glasses of wine for the very unhappy patrons waiting for their tables. I don't know if everyone had made reservations, but the fact that they the front of the house was so far in the weeds was noticeable to those of us in the dining area.
We'll go back again, but this past visit was not our favorite.
Beautiful old pair of attached with fine decor, good wait staff, and good food. The Osso Bucco was excellent, the scallops were beautifully prepared and the Spaghetti Carbonara was very good. We will definitely be back!
The food wasn’t great - gummy, overcooked gnocchi. Vegetarian ravioli had a random piece of chicken on the plate. Service was quite slow and disorganized.
The food is excellent. The service is great. One of our favorite places.
Antica is and has always been a favorite in Houston.
Amazing experience. Accommodated ya despite being slammed for Valentine’s day. Kamal, our server, is the best. We always request him, and we’re never disappointed.
Lovely restaurant that always delivers on food, service and ambiance. Quaint old home with several small rooms. Wait staff that is very connected to menus. Food is delicious and well priced.
This neighborhood gem, delivers on service and quality food. Antica Osteria has been around for decades, and this visit was generally good as usual. The Atlantic Salmon, along with insalata della casa with crabmeat always fits the bill! My spouse enjoyed the veal al funghi, the food a delight.
Unfortunately on this visit, the cappacino tasted more like burnt coffee left over from lunch. But upon mention to the restaurant, they quickly acknowledged the issue, and politely did not charge us.
A quiet, but energetic establishment, with an Italian flair, that just keeps enchanting it's diners year in and year out. Your not going to be "seen" here, but you surely will be welcomed.
As usual we had a good experience at Antica. Ray, the owner greeted us at the door. We only had to wait a couple of minutes to get a good table on the interior porch. Two of us ordered the lamb chops. My wife always orders them -- they are delicious and perfectly cooked. The other two of us ordered the Veal Romano, which was also excellent. The roasted veggies served with them were also perfect.
Whenever I want to have a nice dinner with friends, or celebrate a special occasion, I like to go to Antica. Thanks for another excellent meal and a wonderful dining experience!
fabulous, always fabulous My go to place always!
Great food, good atmosphere, and decent wine menu. Will definitely return.
The atmosphere was great, the food delicious and our server Christopher excellent. We would definitely dine here again on our next visit to Houston.
