Partners Ray Memari and Velio DePlano have done it, again. When you step inside their beautiful new Italian restaurant Antica Osteria you will immediately feel all of the worries of living in a big city melt away. The only hustle and bustle you may notice is that of the staff keeping up a quick pace to meet your every need, usually before you even realize you have a need at all.
The decor will sweep you away to a romantic dreamy Tuscan paradise with it's warm aged walls and woodwork. Even sitting next to the street on the beautiful covered patio that runs along the front of the building and links the restaurant and lounge area doesn't let the chaos of Houston interrupt an enchanting candlelight dining experience.
As always we had a delightful dinner... great food and good service.
Best Italian in Houston.
Wonderful experience. Staff very friendly and kind. Service was great. We celebrated my daughter's bday and they served her proseco abd a candke on her dessert. Would definitely go again. It was cosy and food was excellent.
Excellent traditional Italian cuisine in an elegant, quiet setting with attentive service.
Our waiter Kamal was excellent!
The service here is old school fabulous. Our waiter was entertaining, efficient and knowledgable. He made the meal for us.
Great old school appeal. A warm, cozy environment with solid Italian food and good service. Could stand up to a typical New York Italian restaurant. Wine prices are reasonable compared to most.
We were there to celebrate a birthday. Michael was our waiter and did an excellent job. His recommendations were spot on. The food was delicious.
We have been going here for years and love the ambiance, the service, the menu and the way we are treated like family by Ray & his staff.
We had a delightful time at Osteria: truly wonderful food, friendly, attentive service and comfortable, unpretentious ambiance!
Alas, having been at this restaurant many times before, we hit a perfect storm. Restaurant was full and very noisy. We had a waiter with a real bad attitude. The meals came late, cold and slow. The car parkers were very nice and efficient.
First time dining there with my husband. We enjoyed our dinner. The food and service were great. Our server, Vanessa was outstanding. She’s a gem.
Always a reliable restaurant with good standards. Pretty good value, good food and wines and a nice atmosphere.
Antica's is always a great experience and great service.
We love Antica Osteria! The entire staff is very friendly and knowledgable. The food is consistently good. I personally love the lamb chops and the desserts are awesome. Decent wine list too. They remember you when you come in. Every time I eat there I run into someone I know. Great place. Kamal and Jonbeck are great waiters too.
I would say that this is a very ROMANTIC ITILIAN RESTAURANT.
You feel tucked away from the world in this very intimate space. They make you feel very special!
And the wine and food is yummy. I love the outdoor space by tge fountain in the corner.
So consistently good
We have celebrated a birthday with family two years in a row when visiting Houston. The service and food have been outstanding and consistent. Don't come here expecting a pizza joint. This is an old house with a quiet atmosphere and really great food.
Fuimos en el cumpleaños 90 de mi suegra y la atención fue magnífica así como el cheese cake con su velita . Inmejorable!!
I have had better meals here. Maybe it was a busy night but the food was luke warm and the
waitress didn't seem to care. It took the food so long to come out that I didn't want to send it
back to be reheated. Hoping it was just an off night.
Had heard about this place so many times and driven past it equally as much. The food was legit authentic and the wine selection was matched perfectly. Would highly recommend to any couple looking for a nice date night.
Beautiful restaurant with great food and service. We can't wait to return to Antica Osteria!
They food was AMAZING. Couldn’t help but finish the big helping. The ambiance was so nice and peaceful. The waiting was prompt and kind. The only complaint I have is the restaurant is so small that when someone is loud you can hear everything they say, but it’s not really their fault if someone wants to be super obnoxious. 5/5 stars
Great food and service ! This is a fantastic Italian restaurant.
What a fantastic find. I came into town and brought 6 clients here for dinner. When my clients showed up, they brought 4 more people. Our waiter Kamel, took care of everything even though it was crowded! We had amazing food and drinks. The appetizers were incredible and the food was absolutely amazing. Great place to have a great dinner.
The place was great as we brought neighbors who had never been there! Our favorite! I love the lamb chops and get them every time....
We had a great time however our server was overwhelmed with too many tables which caused us to not get drinks and food In a timely manner.
Free valet parking, romantic ambiance, quaint house with a good amount of seating. The food was delicious, and well-priced. I got the chicken parmigiana and it was wonderful. I will definitely be back.
It s like eating at Home!
Service was great!
Though they were short staffed the team pulled together and did a great job. The food was incredible and reasonably priced
I always love this place. It makes an ordinary dinner special with the welcoming and authentic atmosphere. My only complaint this trip was that the lamb chops were a little overdone.
It's been a while since we've been to Antica, but the service and food are still wonderfully the same. It makes me wonder why we stopped going. It's such an enjoyable old school dining experience, where dining wasn't all about the glitz and glam, but about great food and exceptional service. You can't go wrong with the lamb chops here. Our waiter, Kamal, was wonderful and entertaining.
Great place wonderful dinner!
Really fantastic food, quiet atmosphere. We will be back !
We have eaten at Antico several times and each time the food and service was excellent. The baby lamb chops were scrumptious as was the Italian creme cake. If only the noise level could be adjusted downwards this place would get SIX stars.
Food and service were outstanding! Tables are too close together, and with low cielings, makes the noise level too much for my personal enjoyment.
Great reception. Some of the staff recognized us even though it had been ~6 months since our return. Food on point, service excellent and ingredients are fresh!
This restaurant is a nice change from regular atmospheres. Located in an old house, it was quiet and should have been a bit more relaxing than it was. We had an early dinner(6:00) and wondered if perhaps we were being hurried in order to turn the table. While the service was okay, we were surprised after we ordered to see other people being shown a chalk board of specials which we were not. The pace of our meal was rushed. The server was nice, but nothing outstanding. The bruschetta was lacking and made us somewhat nervous about the meal to come. The ceasear salad was a little above average. My entree (penne) was very good, but my husband's was just okay (veal). The desserts were very good, so we left feeling more positive than when we began. All that being said, we would go again, but would ask to see the specials, now that we know they exist.
I went there for a 6-month anniversary and we really enjoyed our night. The atmosphere was a little busy, most likely due to it being Houston Restaurant Weeks. However, the food was really good. I had the lamb chops, and she had spaghetti with shrimp and both dishes were great. Would recommend.
