Anthony's Hearthfire Grill - Bellingham
Quite expensive for what you get but food was prepared simply and tastefully. Good comfort food but nothing special. Our waitstaff was personable and efficient. My only complaint is not being seated far enough away from the next table. During time of pandemic, I was surprised that people were being seated far too closely for me to feel comfortable. The view though was spectacular!
Always a good value for your money and great service!
This was our 52nd wedding anniversary dinner celebration. I made a reservation for 6:00 and due to traffic we didn’t get there until almost 6:30. We were immediately seated at the window overlooking the marina which is where I had requested we be seated when making my reservation. The whole experience was great; wait staff, drinks, food and ambiance. It was a little noisy but still a wonderful experience. We will be back as we learned the Early Dining experience is starting up again.
We love Anthony's Hearthfire Grill for a special occasion. Good food, great views, and wonderful service.
LOVED our early bird dinner at Hearthfire. Service, food, everything was Wonderful! Our Server was especially Terrific -he couldn't have been better. Especially enjoyed the Outdoor Seating overlooking the Boat Marina/Bellingham Bay and as a Bonus we absolutely & totally enjoyed hearing the Live Music that was nearby. Thank You!
We had never eaten at Hearthfire Grill and now it is one of our favorite restaurants in Bellingham!
The food was excellent (Burger & Fries, Cod & Chips). The service was unusually slow.
Our "Birthday Celebration" went unnoticed.
Our chicken was tasty, but the mashed potatoes were very hard and starchy. Nothing special
I love the Crab & Corn Chowder, it’s heaven. Unfortunately, it was not available, I was disappointed. I have to give them grace, with COVID, the seafood menu is very limited which is understandable.
I would recommend Anthony’s Hearthfire to everyone, it’s one of my favorites
We were Happy with our food ... the Host was very nice and accommodating ..gave us a wonderful view table ..The waitress was very attentive But not bothersome ..we were visiting with our granddaughter and we were there for sometime .. She did not hurry us at ALL ...
Loved out Visit to Hearthfire yesterday, everything was PERFECT! We also LOVED our Server - she may have been our very best yet
Good value with the Sunset menu, delicious and very filling, with a great view. What's not to like?
Usually excellent, but slightly disappointing this time. We were seated at a table in the bar even though we had a birthday dinner reservation for a window table. It was a window table, but not an ideal location. The bar has a TV (😝), and a tile floor, and the conversation is louder, and the ambiance is not as nice as the main floor. My date had a very small, licensed, service dog, so perhaps that's why we were seated in the bar area, with the hard floor? My MaiTai was pleasant, and I usually prefer them not too strong, but this time it was too weak on the rum, and too much ice.
The halibut ($41) was very good, a large piece, but slightly overcooked. The sides of rice pilaf with craisins, and the green beens, were very good, as usual, but the portions were skimpy. The Caesar was too small, and not very flavorful: the dressing was not exciting, and it could have used more cheese, and some croutons. The menu seemed smaller than my last visit, pre-Covid.
I still highly recommend the Hearthfire, and look forward to another visit for lunch.
Normally this is one of our most favorite restaurants torestaurants to eat at for special occasions. This time was a big disappointment. We had let the restaurant know in advance that we wanted the best table that they had for our anniversary and ended up with a table that was right next to the pay station and back door. Lots of traffic buzzing by us with a tiny table. We were willing to wait for something nicer since we were early but were rushed through. The waiter seemed like he was having an off day which kind of added to the disappointment of our experience and the food was average at best. He did however bring out ever bring out a dish of ice cream for us to share complimentary for our anniversary occasion.
Not our usual experience but a huge disappointment for what was a monumental day for us.
It was excellent. Good selections. Ability to modify choices.
Our 44th anniversary dinner w/ friends. Peach ice cream was the best ever!!
The salad that came with the shrimp open face sandwich had a strange flavor, not my favorite, but everything else was pretty good.
Good food. Great views. Really good service. Go!
unreal food, great service, our waiter was a real treat, 10/10
We sat outside and there was a band playing next door so that is why the noise level is a three. But we liked the band. It was an excellent experience.
I always enjoy looking at the harbor during dinner. I used to enjoy the warm dinner rolls for appetizers but this time they served something else which was hard and not tasty. The dinner, however, was great, especially since I enjoy a great steak.
Open table made it easy to make reservations. We were welcomed and seated on Anthony's beautiful outside patio immediately. Service and food was amazingly delicious!
Disappointed. The only good part was the sunset view, the rest were all below expectations. The filet was over priced, I was not impressed at all. The salmon was way over done and stuck in our teeth easily. We left over 80% of salmon untouched. Our waitress was even not bothered to ask why. We were also left unattended for most of time. Our waitress appeared in bad mood, we didn’t feel welcomed. Oh, forgot to mention our dinner started with a dirty plate that I had to ask for a replacement.
Very friendly courteous staff. Reasonably efficient service on a busy night. Food quality and taste excellent. A bit pricey.
We decided to celebrate my birthday at Anthony’s Hearthfire Grill as I received a Birthday coupon to use for dinner. We invited friends to join us and we had a wonderful meal. Our waiter was charming and professional and his recommendation was right on. We will most certainly be back soon.
Everything was fabulous!
Food was delicious, the staff very engaging and overall the experience was the best we have had in a long time. Thanks for creating such a well-run restaurant.
We chose the twilight menu to celebrate our anniversary, and couldn't have been happier with our decision. The service was great & friendly - attentive without being intrusive - the meal was delicious and just the right amount. Plus the view!
The food was great but it was warm inside the restaurant and I wanted sime ice wAter after being seated. After a long wait I went ti the hostess desk to ask for service. I was eating alone and felt ignored. Water glass needed refills but no bus service available. When did service get so bad?
Very disappointed in our experience at Hearthfire. Food was expensive (which was expected) but poor given the cost and the supposed "freshness" of ingredients. For example:
Salad was soggy with too much dressing. The Bay shrimp on the salad was flavorless. The fruit on the salad was soggy.
The fish from the fish and chips was not crispy, as fried/breaded fish should be and was also flavorless.
Our waiter was far too clingy and animated - we were at a nice restaurant, not an Applebees. Calm down.
Highlights: French fries were great. The Farmstrong Pilsner was cold and tasty.
All in all, our party of three spent $80 on two good beers and some great french fries.
Also, the person (not our waiter, maybe the manager?) who brought our food to the table suggested he knew my mom was the one who ordered the salad, because "she looks like the salad type." This was insulting to a woman who is already self-conscious about her appearance.
Very disappointed in Hearthfire. Will not return.
My group was running just a bit late, I called to let them know and they held our table with no fuss. The service was great, it always is and the food was perfect for all of us!
All courses were delicious. Atmosphere great, good service. Early dinner good value. Jared Jones rocks!
Our first time there. Excellent food and service. Noise level was a little higher than we would have liked, not as pleasant ambience as we expected based upon the website and photos included. parking on a Thursday evening was surprisingly difficult. Where are all those people? We will return.
Anthony's Hearthfire is our favorite place to celebrate special occasions. Seems it has become very popular with a lot of other people as well. We had a reservation, since that seems to be necessary this summer (2021). It was very busy, but we had a nice table by a window in a quiet part of the restaurant.
Food was delicious, our waitress was wonderful, and she even took my husband's over-cooked burger back to get him a rare one. She also put together my special order (grilled salmon over the seasonal salad, which used to be a regular item). The wait staff and chefs worked hard to make sure we were happy with our meal.
Prices are up everywhere, what can I say. Anthony's is worth it for special occasions like a birthday.
We enjoyed our dinner there very much.
The menu did not give us enough choices.
The waiter was nice and friendly.
Great experience for our anniversary! Food was fantastic and service was on-point! Nice view over the waterfront. Could not have been better.
Pleasant atmosphere. We started with the drink on special, fresh peaches were a plus. We decided to share a salad and entree, perfect amount of food and not too heavy. Great date night and our waitress was lovely. Thank you!
When in Bellingham, Anthony's Hearth Fire is our favorite place. Great food, great views, great service.
Service and food was excellent. We had the ling cod and it was amazing, served with rice pilaf with cranberries and pistachios. The waitress suggested sharing a spinach/peach salad and it more than enough for each of us, and delicious! We had a corner table with windows all around and an excellent view of the harbor and boats. Can’t wait to go back.
Was a great waterfront place to take out-of-town visitors. Staff exceptional.
