We LOVED it!!! From the beautiful interior to dessert. We absolutely loved the food....and drinks. The only problem we had was that it took awhile to get drinks. Other than that, it was perfect. We can’t wait to go back!
The best thing about Anthony’s is the decor. After that it’s downhill. I’ll start off with red wine by the glass list. It’s pretty poor with nothing I’m familiar with & I know a lot of red wines.
The biggest disappointment is the service. It’s robotic. We had booked thru Open Table & I checked the box that it was an anniversary. Nick greats our table & says “who’s birthday is it?” I indicated it was not a birthday but an anniversary & got basically a grunt from him. No dialogue. No conversation. No asking how many, etc. and then when he leaves our table I realize there is a card on our table signed by Anthony congratulating us on our anniversary! This might sound minor but it set the tone that carried thru the evening of very poor service from the standpoint of rapport & engagement. Was it efficient? Yes, but when you’re dealing with people you need to be effective as well and engage with your table beyond grunts & basic acknowledgment of what you’ve said or ordered.
Anthony did come by & introduce himself & he was a tad better but not much. These people really don’t know how to engage with people spending a lot of money! Leadership starts at the top & Anthony needs to learn to engage better. We know what great service looks like & it’s not here.
The food was good. Pork belly was good not great though. Baked goat cheese was good.
The wedge salad was probably the best thing we had. Very good. We split the ribeye & it was good but a tad undercooked for medium. The Yukon potatoes were terrible to me as they had a weird taste but my wife did like them.
For the money there are much better places and we won’t go back. Listen to the others reviews who complained about the wait staff. They are terrible!
The restaurant is beautiful, staff excellent and the food was good not excellent, but ok and I think it is overpriced .
Food was not very warm but still very good. Initially we were seated in the bar area which i felt was strange since i made reservation weeks ago. I asked to be moved into the main room and was accommodated. Service was a little slow, our server was a young man very polite but we felt he may be spread to thin since it took over 15 minutes to greet ya and take our drink order. Overall i would come back but Anthony’s would not be my first choice for a high end meal.
We're happy to have a fine dining establishment in this upscale suburb, and Anthony's generally delivers. Little things still could use some refinement and heightened sophistication. For instance, our very well-intentioned and efficient server tended to talk to us about wine as if we don't know anything about it. And despite better tables being available, the warm and welcoming hostess seated us a arguably one of these least appealing tables in the room. Overall, however, the food is nicely prepared and the ambience is warm and inviting.
We had a wonderful Anniversarry dinner at Anthony’s. The champagne toast and dessert made us feel so special.
The entire team was great; everyone had a warm smile on their faces and were more than willing to make sure we had a great experience. The ambience was a perfect blend of romantic and friendly, for all generations. The food was even better, easily matching or exceeding some of the other Indianapolis locations known for their steaks. We will be back again.
We were here for my daughter’s birthday on a busy Saturday night. We sat in the bar, which was fine, but the walkway between the tables and bar isn’t wide enough for all the traffic so the servers had to keep jumping in between the tables to get out of the way. We had to ask twice for bread. Food was really good. It’s a beautiful place and a great addition to downtown Carmel.
We were excited to find out about this new restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was great ! The only issue we had at all, was that it was a little noisy. We will definitely be back, though!
Our bartender, Will, was outstanding! He introduced my husband to a new drink that he really liked! He showed us how he made the Campfire Coffees people were ordering for dessert! Delicious! Brent was an excellent server - very attentive while not being hovering. The ambiance is very inviting, upscale, yet comfortable. The Glass Chimney Bar redone is exquisite. A perfectly beautiful evening. The parking in back made it so convenient on a rainy night!
Have to ask to sit in main room otherwise they will seat you in the Bar. Really noise and would rather have been in the main room or upstairs. Overall everything was great other than that.
We thought it was overpriced and terrible food for the price. The filet was tough if it was even really a filet. The pickled cauliflower was disgusting had NO flavor. The lobster bisque was horrible..why ruin a good soup by using tempura lobster?!
It seems that the name having chophouse was a mistake..Asian inspired does not go with a chop house?
Really beautiful place though and we had high hopes but was greatly disappointed. And it’s not cheap!
Great atmostphere, ambience, food and service! Loved it!
Food was a little salty.
Easily the best dinner and experience I have had in Indy. The food was out of this world and the service was top notch. Definitely worth trying if you haven’t been before. Pricing is competitive with other steakhouses. Plus the 3up bar is a must see after dinner.
We had a great experience! Food was great. People were great. Drinks we great.
Very tasty food!! Well presented! We will definitely return!
This is a good steak restaurant. I thought it was a better steak than all but St Elmo's. The room is nice, but our table was in the middle of traffic and so not ideal. The upstairs room has a bit of an odd layout. The drinks were well made. The server was friendly, but a bit too much of a comedian for my taste. Service was good at the beginning and less so at the end of the meal. The steak was flavorful and cooked as requested. The salmon was excellent. The sides of corn and mashed potatoes were both good, but not quite on point. The doughnut dessert was a disappointment and a good one to skip. The coffee was very good. The manager was excellent and both helpful and friendly.
We would return.
Took my Mom and sister to a nice dinner at Anthony's on Sat. night. I booked it on OpenTable easily on Friday. We arrived early and they were able to seat us right away. I thought the service was very good, but our table was right next to the kitchen, so there was more noise than desired. The food was great! We will be back!
The staff was great, so friendly and funny. The cold was cold and drenched in butter. I sent back my dinner , as well did others at our table, because it was too salty. When it came back I still felt it was too salty. I asked for my items with out any butter or added fat so I THINK this is how the chef thought to give it flavor. We will not be returning
The best dining experience in the Indy area! Every staff member was super friendly, knowledgeable and very well poised. The ambiance is nothing short of spectacular- the decor is a mix of luxury, modern and industrial. The food is by far the best we have had in a while! The flavor of the steak far exceeded any competitors in the area. The owner cane over and introduced himself and even handed us a special anniversary card and complimentary dessert.
We can’t wait to go back!
Our filets were tender, but had no flavor. 12.00 for the smallest pour of wine I've ever had. We eat at fine dining establishments all the time, they could stand to go to Tony's Steakhouse or St. Elmos. We were a little disappointed.
I would expect more "chop" selections from a Chophouse, however there was only 1 pork chop choice. Much more from the steak side but I had the pork. I received 2 chops that were good sized, however there was a ton of gristle. My wife got the salmon and it was pretty good. Sides were what you would expect from an establishment like this. Caesar salad and wedge salad were great and bread pudding was some of the best I have had. If the meat would have been better overall, I would highly recommend. Ambiance and service was outstanding. Worth a shot if you give the steaks a try.
Our party of 4 was seated at a huge round 8 top, on the second floor nearest the overlook to downstairs. The acoustics are challenging in this room to start (deafening at full capacity), and seated at a table that was way too large made it impossible for conversation with our friends. This reservation/table assignment made the experience compromised. This gigantic table should NEVER be used for four people. Sorry to say, we should have asked to me moved, but it appeared there would be nothing for us otherwise.
Super elegant and nicest place in CARMEL. our server was very respectful of our dinner conversation but almost to a fault because our orders weren’t taken until 2.5 hours in. Yet he was still a good server. Good was well prepared and the flavors were great
Food and service was amazing! Came for a business anniversary with friends/colleagues. Ask for Caleb- he is awesome!
This was our first time dining at Anthony’s Chophouse. We were welcomed by a friendly hostess staff.
My husband and I started our evening having drinks at the bar. The atmosphere was fun. The bartenders were very engaging which left us trying to decide if we should eat at the bar or move to our table. We ultimately decided to move to a table that was located in the bar so we could keep the same atmosphere but with a little cosiness. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. We started with the West Coast Oysters; the combination of the Chili Mignonette, Sweet House Ketchup and raw horseradish on-top of the oysters were amazing! We then had filets that were cooked to perfection! We also shared two side dishes; twice baked Yukon potatoes and Calle’ Corn, both dishes were very good, especially the corn.
We had a wonderful experience and date night. I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you have not already. We will be going back very soon!
Walked in and no one was there. We stood there for around 10 minutes before we were greeted. Finally the bartender saw us and sat us. Gorgeous building by the way. The bartender was pleasant enough. The cap steak came out green in color and the seasoning was very strong. It was surprising. The Gnocchi was just ok. Overall I felt that the experience, while not terrible, didn’t match the incredible building.
The food is over priced, steak was raw. We were charged for three drinks we didn’t order. The service was good, but attention to detail in all aspects needs to be a focus. Bring down your prices.
Hands down one of the best meals I have had. We have visited a number of steakhouses (as well as other restaurants) in the Indianapolis/Carmel/Westfield area and Anthony’s has by far the most creative and thoughtful menu. The service was fantastic as well. Love that it is locally owned. Looking forward to our next visit!
Great Service and Food!
Nothing was good! Cocktails, steak nor pork chops! But garlic frites were good!
Great atmosphere. Taylor was amazing when seating us....a very kind and valuable lady. Our waitress was amazing as well.
Great food. Great service.
Food was great, they are very accommodating to those needing a gluten friendly diet.
It was the first time I had been to Anthony's. The service and the food were outstanding as well as the build out of this new restaurant. I was quite impressed with the ambience and the seating in the bar.
We had an amazing time celebrating our anniversary at Anthony’s Chop House. Kaleb was our server and he was super nice and very personable. Great restaurant and we would highly recommend it!
Food very good, bit over priced.
Drinks Wine expensive, Martini overly sweet for said dry.
It was a slow night at Anthony's. Yes, it was a Thursday, but my wife and I go out to special places on Thursday and this was no exception. While the food was pretty good, I felt the service could have been better. It took a while for our drinks to show. As a matter of fact, the drinks arrived before the glasses were filled with water. You could step up your game there. Also, our server kept on saying I'll be right back with this or that, but then never showed for about 10 minutes. Another point to this, he said he would bring us bread, but that never showed until we were about 3/4 of the way finished with our entrees. Could step up the game Anthony's.
My wife and I both had a filet. Both were cooked as ordered, and they melted in your mouth! The Brussels au gratin was fantastic and the brocolini was really good as well. The prices were inline with a high end steak house. But the decor was really nice, and most of the tables had a nice view of the Monongahela through a large glass wall.
