Anthony's at the Old Mill District - Bend
All good except filet was over cooked and a different flavor than expected
Excellent food and service! Loved the open air door and atmosphere. It was quiet. We will be back for sure.
Fabulous service. Had the early bird dinner and it was great. My only critique would be that my prawns were slightly overcooked and a little tough, otherwise everything else was perfectly delicious!
Great food and service! Highly recommend having a reservation because they are busy!
Service was very slow. Food was just ok
Great food, location and wait staff.
Only issue was two hostesses that should not be in that role. They were not friendly, receptive, or polite. They told us and another couple that we would wait the 2 and 8 minutes until exactly our reservation time and then called our name and walked us to the table. No: hello, please wait at the bar, enjoy your meal, thank you for dinning with us, etc. They immediately set a bad tone upon our arrival - fortunately everything else was great and reset our enjoyment of Anthony’s. First impressions linger though.
Was lucky to man a window seat. The experience was very nice.
When we have something special going on, Anthony's is our first choice.
Food was good......my salad looked wrung out.... but it tasted good
Silver salmon out of this world!
We are typically Anthony’s fans and live their quality. I made a reservation and clearly marked “Birthday Celebration”. When we arrived we waited to be seated while watching several groups get seated without reservations in front of us. When we were eventually shown to a table for two on a bench seat between two other groups I informed the hostess I would like a different able. She was put out that I wasn’t interested in sitting between two groups and quickly asked if I had requested a specific table with my reservation instead of just giving us one of the five other tables near her that were empty and clean.
A group of three seated before us was placed along the river windows and had bread, chowder and wine all brought to them by their waitress who also sat with them at several points during the evening while she folded napkins. Interestingly enough the same group left without receiving a bill or leaving any money.
We were simply traveling through Bend and in search for a dinner restaurant close to where we were spending the night. We were surprised to learn that there was an Anthony's in Bend. Knowing the quality, we made a reservation and were very pleased that we had chosen Anthony's for our place to dine. A beautiful setting, pleasant restaurant, and excellent meal. The Crab and Corn chowder was the best soup we've had in a restaurant and only sorry we didn't have room for having more!
We were seated within 5 minutes of our arrival for our reservation at 6:30pm. We had requested seating on the patio outside. I would not recommend sitting on the patio at this time as the sun beats down on you even though there are umbrellas on the tables. I have 2 complaints about the food: The crabmeat salad only had 2 small bites of crabmeat on it - hardly worth the extra $- very disappointing. I ordered the halibut which was very good, but, the green beans were not even cooked al Dante, so, I couldn't eat them as they were too raw. The entrée plate was not visually appealing - no garnishes. They gave us bread and butter plates, but, didn't bring us any bread and butter, so, we had to ask for it. I would recommend the Pine Tavern in downtown Bend over this restaurant.
I would recommend Anthony’s because we usually have a fabulous dinner and great service. This visit the halibut was over cooked and rice under cooked. Service was poor as it seemed we were forgotten. However we will return in hopes we get the great food and service again
As always, the food was great. The service was excellent.
Regular diners at Anthony’s. Last two visits were horrible. Must be a lot of kitchen and wait staff turnover...Last two visits at least one meal or two( out of four) arrived not as ordered. OK, that happens. The problem is with the staffs approach to the mistakes. They take the incorrect dish away and then disappear. Three people are eating dinner while one quest is twiddling their thumbs.
One would think the kitchen would put the corrected meal at t font of the line-but no-often one waits much longer then the original order for it to arrive. It is almost like the staff punishes the diner for rejecting their mistake.
This last Monday my guest, with profound health issues, ordered a dinner salad with dressing on the side. It arrived drenched in dressing. Mistakes happen. Waiting until the other diners were almost done their meal for another salad to arrive is unacceptable. After her mistake the waitress disappeared.
No communications or effort made to rush the order out.
I have had it. Out after movies dinners will now be a Greg’s Grill. Anthony’s needs on site competent management!
Our waitress was very rude and actually laughed at my boyfriend for mispronouncing Pinot Gris. She then proceeded to walk away without finishing taking our order to assist a neighboring table. Food was good but not worth the cost for the portions you get. The view is always good. Won't be back unless someone else is paying.
Decent atmosphere with average service. Priced about right.
Delicious Seafood, but my daughter and husband’s fish and chips portions were very small for the price. The appetizer was very good but portion again very small. Expensive.
Next time we will go for happy hour instead
Beautiful August evening on the outside patio along Deschutes river. Marvelous salmon dinner. Service was perfect.
I ordered trout and knew it would be breaded but they fried it too long and it was all hard and mostly untasty
Sunset specials available til 6 pm are a great value, the seafood is always fresh and full of flavor
Great service and great dinner! Even helped us celebrate a birthday with a candle in our dessert. Will be back for sure.
Can’t wait to go back for dungeness crab salad and pasta! Ecvellent service!
Unfortunately, the the fish was over cooked. In addition, the crab chowder was watery. The food prep continues an ongoing downward slide. I really wish they would focus on the food instead of quickly serving and flipping tables full of tourists.
We took our daughter here while she was visiting from Portland. Beautiful location on the river. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful. We enjoyed our visit and will definitely return.
We ordered fish that was over salted, cooked and just plain bad. For $26/plate I expect better quality. Pass on this one....
Had been looking forward to eating here for several months. We chose to eat here for our anniversary and was a bit disappointed. The food was mediocre, service was okay, and the view was great.
If you can find a place to park, Anthony's is well worth the visit. Food and service are generally excellent. Indoor decor and pleasant patio seating makes dining either indoors or outdoors a good choice.
Food was excellent, like we were on the Oregon coast, but with much better weather. I'd eat here again.
Ari our server was great.
Lots of items on menu was not available and hostess wasn’t accommodating given reservation was made day in advance.
Very Loud in middle of open seating.
When making reservations was asked about special occasion told them our anniversary. Why ask if nothing is said or done.
Beautiful evening, sat outside and wished the bushes had been trimmed a bit lower to get a good river view. Food and service good as usual so all was god.
Great service by Ari! Disappointed in that we made a reservation through Open Table for outside seating. Upon arrival, the hostess informed us that Anthony’s policy on outdoor seating is first come first served and we could expect a 45 minute wait. Open Table should align itself with the restaurant and only offer reservations for inside seating. We took an inside table and were seated immediately. Food was very good and the service was outstanding. Great location on the Deschutes River in the Old Mill District of Bend.
We took advantage of the sunset dinner special and had the perfect table. With a bottle of wine, this was a very nice early dinner.
We sat next to the kitchen and enjoyed watching! Makenna was our server and she was very pleasant and efficient. We really enjoyed our meal, the restaurant in general and service was great.
Sunset dinners offered are very reasonably priced and a great value. Recommend the ahi appetizer, clam chowder, shrimp or pretty much any seafood on the menu.
Burnt custard (creme brûlée) is good. Don’t let the name fool you.
Great food and a nice view
Took over an hour to get our food and the steak showed up rare even after all that time
