Anthony's at Gig Harbor
We went for Saturday brunch although I didn't realize they do not offer brunch. We were happy with the lunch menu however. Our party of 4 ordered various items and all were tasty. We got a seat overlooking the water, gorgeous view. Our server was very attentive and recognized that we were a group of long time friends catching up. She did not rush us, we made sure to tip her extra for taking up a table although the restaurant was not super busy.
We choose this restaurant because of waterfront view, good food and excellent service. Would like to see more vegetarian options.
Great place, awesome view, and good food.
We enjoyed our meals but found the amount of Mahi Mahi in the tacos was way too little. One tiny piece of fish in each soft flour taco was hardly more than a taste. It was disappointing. The Dungeness crab and artichoke mix on toast was ample and delicious. Tempura cod fish and chips had three nice pieces of fish, with a light beer batter coating, cooked perfectly with golden brown color outside and tender, flaky fish inside. All entrees were plated beautifully and the gorgeous setting of Gig Harbor and Mt. Rainier’s top on a sunny day made the time spent there very enjoyable.
Michelle was fabulous! My mom and I had a wonderful experience.
Hesitate to write this because we love this Anthony's for over 18 years now. We were recently there with family on the 8th of Feb. and also the 15h.
My surf and turf was skimpy on the crab and the steak was very tough. It was also cold.
You were to busy to complain,
Following next Sat. brought rest of family and they were out of New York Steaks!!! For a holiday weekend. The appetizers were good the Pomegranate drop was wonderful, myhusbands fettuccine was delicious he said.
Unfortunately, my fish and chips was just so so since the fries were soggy and the cod was mostly batter?
We have never had this so I would really like a reply as to what the problems were Best
Most everything was great. My boyfriend ordered a chowder and never got it.
Generally good value for the price, except the drinks which are way overpriced. Service was very slow but it was Valentines and they were packed. Fish is good
Loved the location. Our server was attentive but in general the food service was slow. Not blaming our server. It was a busy night for the kitchen. Would go here again for a nice night on the deck.
Wished that the noise level could be reduced in order to carry on a soft conversation.
it was a very nice Valentine's evening. We had great service and good food.
My husband and I met my parents there for a Valentine’s Day dinner. We were sat quickly and the service was wonderful. The food was great!
Good food. Good wine. Too noisy.
Waiter was excellent. No pressure to hurry us. Dinner very good. A little noisy because we were close to the cooking arena but not bad. Absolutely yummy dessert. It was one of our nicer celebrations for Valentine’s Day.
Ordered the seafood salad and there were lots of shells in the salad. We actually had two of the salads in our party and both had lots of crab shells. Very difficult to eat and disappointing. Also wanted to order lobster but very high prices. Waitress was good however she was so busy was unable to really provide the attention to our table.
Same day reservations with Open Table, thank you. Great view, great view, great family time celebrating a birthday! Thankful for GH Anthony's!
I brought two of my daughters here for an early dinner as we were in Tacoma for their cheer competition and I wanted to show them to GH where I grew up. The views of the harbor are amazing from this spot. The service was excellent and we all enjoyed the food.
A beautiful spot with reliable menu. Good value, good drinks. All-in-all a good experience.
The Caesar salad, clam chowder, and the creme brûlée were very good. The salmon and the blackened cod were just mediocre, edible but uninspired.
The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. The view was lovely though once the evening became night the interior lights reflected off the windows making it hard to see the Harbor.
I would recommend going for a lunch of salad and chowder, but not for dinner.
This was the worst meal & Service we have had at this restaurant in the 15+ years we have gone there.
Staff is friendly and very helpful! Food is excellent and never disappoints us!! Had a great birthday celebration for my Mom!!! Thank you!!
Restaurant was nearly empty (super-sunday) so noise level was low, except for the kitchen which is open to the seating area. Clang and clatter for kitchen was so loud I had to remove my hearing aids.
Our waiter was amazing. Great date night experience!!
Nice table with a view, excellent and attentive waitress and the food was very good. Can't ask for more.
The staff is super friendly! The decor is a bit dated, but clean and inviting. They were the best part of our experience. The bread and butter was nice - a crusty sourdough and more butter than we needed! I had the 3-course winterfest dinner. My starter (the calamari) was all rings and tentacles. Filets would’ve been a much nicer choice. My main was the scampi prawns w/risotto and broccoli, which was fine. My dessert was the Baileys and chocolate mousse, which practically melted as soon as it crossed my lips - wonderful! My husband ordered the 7 oz. steak, which was cooked perfectly, but was completely unseasoned. They looked at him funny when he asked if they had steak sauce, but his stake wasn’t even peppered... it was so bland. His only side was a baked potato with butter and a side scoop of chives/sour cream. Overall, for the $62 our dinner costed (not counting tip because like I said the service was great), the food was just “okay” and I think seasoning the steak and choosing a nicer piece of calamari than the tentacles would’ve much improved things.
We are so happy to have all the benefits of Anthonys extensive menu, quality and consistency in a superb waterfront setting. The crab cakes are all crab, minimal filler, the best around. Also ordered the steelhead, fresh, cooked perfectly and tender. Our server Daron was outstanding.
Great view, good location, easy parking.
Excellent food: Could not have cooked the swordfish better myself. The mussels as appetizer to share were among the best.
Anthony’s can always be counted on for a good experience.
Considering it was New Year's Eve and our reservations were pretty last minute, I was highly impressed. I failed to mention that someone in our party would be using a wheelchair. Though they had to re-arrange things, the accommodation was granted and no time was added to our wait. Food was excellent. Service was great. My only complaint was a loud party seated next to us which was a bit distracting. Not much could be done about that. It's a beautiful location. I would go again.
It was New Years Eve and it was packed. Open table had a glitch and our reservations were not recorded. I had a screen shot of the reservation and the manager was great and they got us in and on time. Our server was fantastic, just attentive enough and did not rush us despite how busy it was and that we were squeezed in. Food was as always good. We are so so glad they got us in despite the issue with the reservation. We don’t go out often but this Anthony’s is our favorite and it was a great night. Thanks!
Restaurant was full and had to turn walk-ins away, but fortunately we had our Open Table reservation and were seated at great table in a timely manner. Food orders were as expected and after dinner "dessert" was fabulous (Grand Marnier/Cognac).
New Years Eve
Food is always excellent. Service was attentive and the atmosphere was just right for our combination business/dinner meeting.
It was a perfect dinner! Thank you ! A great way to celebrate our anniversary.
Perfect evening! It was really busy. But that’s what you’d expect on Christmas Eve. The wait staff was attentive and professional.
Always a safe bet in Gig Harbor. Was packed on Christmas Eve, so service was slow. But a very good experience overall. Been there several times and plan to return many more times.
We went for their Christmas Eve dinner. It was very crowded and busy and we were placed in a corner that usually does not have a table there. Our server was fairly prompt and helpful considering how busy he was. Husband and I both ordered the Sunset Dinner: he had the salmon and I had the pork tenderloin. His dinner was great; mine probably sat under a heat lamp way too long. It was grey and so dry that after a couple of small bites I sent it back. The replacement dish of steamed clams was absolutely delicious. Both the server and manager apologized and the manager comped my dinner. That the manager purposely came over to make things right did a lot to restore my faith in the restaurant, as we are regular patrons for their Happy Hour. I recommend this restaurant, but maybe not in the middle of a busy holiday dinner crush.
I was sick after eating a Caeser salad and steak. If they are using raw eggs in the dressing, they should stop! My mom's trout was oily, and trout is NOT an oily fish! So, some of the food was a big zero! The service was great and the place looked nice. We'll go back some day as it's the only nice place in the area to take visitors.
This location never let's us down as it is always great and the staff are always friendly and very knowledgeable about the food that is being served. The food is always great and cooked to perfection. We I'll continue going to this location as long as they keep up their stands like they have been doing.
