Great location, service, ambiance. Had the seafood “tower” appetizer, and excellent Lobster Roll. Other people in our party had great reviews on the short ribs.
Service was awful. On the way out, my husband mentioned it to the hostess and her reply was “we are short handed upstairs, have a good night”. No apologies at all. Never returning

Vacationing with family
Hi Terri, Thank you for the review! We're glad you chose to dine at Anthem Kitchen & Bar, and we hope to see you again next time you're in the area. Best, Grace
Good for, though smaller portions for price. This is normal of Fanuiel Hall though. The biggest problem was the seats. I was just to large to fit in them and the table was a high top, which made it worse.
Hello- Thank you so much for the review. We apologize that you did not have a better experience, and we've shared your review with management and our host staff so we can work on making improvements. We hope you'll give us another chance in the future. Best, Grace
Great food for our party of nine, with a big range of desires. This was our post-marathon celebration meal and the Anthem came through beautifully!

too noisy and slow service. There is noise from the street and the waiters seem too busy and forget orders

The Fish n Chips was excellent!!! Great portion. We had the shrimp cocktail as well which was also good.
Our server was attentive.
The only thing I had a problem with was the hostess. We got there early, sat at the bar. When we went back to hostess station, it appeared she forgot us.
I will not let the service from the hostess over shadow the rest of the night.
Our meals were well worth it, and will definitely go back the next time I am in Boston.

The service was slow, probably due to there being one waitress to the whole side of a restaurant during brunch hours. I ordered the eggs benny with lobster, no pancetta and extra crispy homefries. I received my meal with cold home fries and an eggs benny with bacon. The waitress proceeded to tell me it’s not bacon (I don’t eat pork) but it was definitely bacon even that it didn’t even come on the original meal. They ended up giving me a new one with what I originally asked for but by then I was over it.

For a party of 9, the service was awful. The waitress was not attentive and management could of care less. Had to ask for our glasses to be filled with water numerous times. After dinner, our dishes were still on the table for awhile, granted they were piled up to the side. Had to wait for awhile to get the waitress attention to bring the desert menu...would not recommend this restaurant to my friends our family!

Good option for casual low-key dinner after work. Very different from lunch crowd.
Hi Donna, Thank you for choosing Anthem Kitchen & Bar for your after work meal. We're so glad that you enjoyed your experience with us, and hope to see you again sometime soon. Best, Grace
Typical pub food, and very overpriced. I think the only thing we all liked was the fried pickles. My Rueben was greasy, soggy, and one of my clients sandwiches were supposed to of been warm and it was cold, the rest of the food was just literally 'ok". Not what I would go back for.
Very friendly and caring staff in spite of it being a crowded friday nite! Lots of options on the menu, kid friendly - lively location!
Hi Aditya, Thank you for joining us on Friday! We're so glad you enjoyed our staff and kid friendly options. We look forward to seeing you again sometime soon! Best, Grace
This place was great. I was seated promptly, the waitress was on top of things with getting water to each new table, and she didn't try to rush me through the night, but also kept on pace with my dining speed.
I went with the restaurant week menu, which was really great for the price.
My appetizer was the duck banh mi tacos - the duck was great, but the crunchy taco was a bit hard to eat with the duck (the taco crumbled into bits after the first bite). The flavor was definitely there, but it was a little messy to eat.
My entree was the bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin w/ cranberry-cherry chutney which also tasted great. There might have been a few spots of bacon that were a little over-cooked, but nothing to ruin the plate.
The dessert was the housemade doughnuts with the nutella filling. I may be wrong, but it tasted like it was a rum-infused nutella filling, so that was a nice touch.
I'd definitely go again for the nice atmosphere, great service and delicious food.
Francisco, Thank you for the review! We're so glad you chose to join us for Dine Out Boston, and have shared your feedback about the taco shells with our chef so we can look into alternatives for future menu items. We're happy the rest of your meal was enjoyable, and hope to see you again sometime soon! Best, Grace
We scheduled a table for 4 at 4:30 (hostess never checked us off on OpenTable so I received a didn't show email). 2 arrived early and had drinks at the bar. Bartender was cordial but not overly friendly. Cocktails expensive and the first drink my wife ordered was 75% ice. 3 sips and $13 later, drink was gone. She asked for the second drink to have less ice and was served the same drink in a glass half the size. So less ice means a smaller glass. 3 sips of the cocktail. Waitress Ashley was attentive. We were slow as a party and despite her efforts to take an order - we were not ready when she came by. She was VERY polite each time. We had chowder, 2 sandwiches, and the steak frites. Overall food was good but the tab was quite high for a few drinks and the mixed meals. I like the atmosphere and know Boston is expensive. Just didn't feel like the meal matched the price. I'd return because I like the ambiance.
We're so glad you enjoyed dining with us! Thank you for the kind words about your server, Ashley. We're happy you enjoyed the food, space, and service, and have shared your feedback about the cocktails and menu pricing with management. We hope to see you again next time you're in town!
So much fun, I loved the space as well. We came here for brunch and they easily accommodated a midsize party. Delicious food and great staff! I will definitely be returning
We had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary! The food was great! We look forward to returning!
We always enjoy the unique food selections at Anthem. The tempura cauliflower was delicious! You can easily make a meal out of several unique appetizers.
Birthday weekend with my boyfriend. Excellent service and food. Wanted to eat way more than we could. Will definitely be back again!!
Friends having lunch discussing wedding plans.
Great lunch spot to meet colleagues.
I was quite disappointed by our lunch at Anthem. My wife had a steak salad that was very tough and bland. I had a “grilled” cheese that was kind of toasted on one side. It was quite bland, and the soup was not at all hot. It was past the lunch rush and the restaurant was mostly empty. Thankfully the wine was good, and the service was good as well. I doubt that we will be going back based on this trip.
It was great for a mixed group of adults and kids.
Anthem has become our go to spot for lunch when we are in Boston. The service is great (Deveney was our server), everyone is friendly and the food is awesome. Chowder is one of my favorites. I am not a huge fan of fish and chips - but I really love how they make it and Anthem.
We always go to lunch there when we are first in town, and we were so happy that we ate there again just before we left.
The food was good and the portions were adequate. We had the fondue for appetizer which was delicious. I had the scallops for my entree while my husband had the ravioli.... both were also good. However, what we we were a bit bummed about was the fact that we were place smack dab in the middle of the restaurant right next to the bar where it was really noisy. I know I didn't specify when I made the reservation but we were hoping to be in a booth or someplace more relaxing/chill to enjoy our belated Valentine's celebration. Instead, we were placed right next to the TV (and I don't begrudge the folks yelling there - it's a sports channel after all and it was the bar). The service was OK but somewhat curt. We'd still come back here but maybe specify where we would prefer to sit (it appeared to us that the tables on the second floor might have been quieter and more romantic.
Terrible service, very rude waitttress. She seemed inconvenienced to have to serve us and kept rolling her eyes when we asked for anything. Awful.
They did a fantastic job with our large group, and we appreciate them being so accommodating to us! Drinks were great, food was pretty solid-- highly recommend the chowder and sandwich options.
Every time I go to Anthem I have a good experience. I like the décor/ambiance and the food is always good. We went for lunch the other day and were a little disappointed that they didn't have the sangria, but the bellinis we had instead were very good. The calamari was excellent, but I wish they had used a different bread for the caprese sandwich. I don't like the bread toasted, but the untoasted focaccia was a bit bready, would have preferred Italian or French bread. Still good though.
All the exterior walls are glass which is nice but not much for views anyway - and makes it pretty cold to dine in during wintertime - probably much better to go to when the weather is nicer. the beer cheese was cold like it had been outside for a while when it got to us. The friedpickles were extremely salty. The fried chicken sandwich defintely made up for the appetizers though! Delicious and the seasoning on the fries was pretty good too.
Enjoyed a business lunch here...food good! Great location and easy to get to.
We went to Anthem for an early New Year's Eve dinner with friends and kids. We were able to call and squeeze in additional people and the hostess was gracious enough to move things around for us. Adults and kids enjoyed the food and there wasn't too much of a wait between ordering and getting our food. Our waitress was patient and attentive, something that can be tough with multiple adults and kids of different ages. The only complaint was that the tomato sauce was on the spicy side for the kids' meals.
Our food was very good, even better than expected. I would like to go back on a date night and enjoy the bar downstairs!
Great place to eat in Fanuel Hall.
Lovely day... great food and service
Good food, reasonable prices attentive waitress
This was our second time at Anthem and again it did not disappoint. Food was yummy - on the comfort side - we loved the fried pickles! All around good experience - we weren't rushed and had a great time. We will be back.
