Anthem at Marriott Marquis DC
It was closed but I was not contacted before the time I made the reservation
All around EXCEPTIONAL!
Went here for a breakfast meeting. The look and feel is a bit like a diner, with efficient service and, for breakfast, standard fare.
Had the pancakes and they had a cake-y taste to them that I really enjoyed. Sometimes you can get pancakes that taste like fried batter from a dirty griddle. These tastes like there was thought put into the batter.
Great breakfast spot for when you're staying in the hotel. Had a client meeting there and liked there was individual options as well as a buffett
While the food was good, the service was not. The staff was frenetic and distracted. One or two of them tried to step in and assist - but there was little attention to service. The food was good however.
Honestly $26 per person for a buffet is obscene, especially when I just had an omelet and some juice. The server wasn't too friendly- more like get 'em in, get 'em out, but the gentleman who made the omelet was so nice, so friendly, and wow, what an omelet!
Awesome club sandwich. Beautiful hotel. A bit over priced, though.
We were guests at the hotel, and went to Anthem for breakfast. A lot of our food had a terrible after taste that seemed to be caused by something on the grill...old oil, or dirty grill. The eggs Benedict was very small, the hash browns were burnt. Overall, not a very good breakfast for almost $100 for four. Thankfully, the manager comped our meal, but it was still a real disappointment.
Good place to meet someone where it is not crowded or noisy and very close to the DC Convention Center. Service was fine. All we had was coffee, so I can't comment on the food.
I had eaten there twice during my stay and it took over an hour for food to arrive at our table after we ordered.
Great place to meet convention going colleagues for a casual meal. The menu is moderate in expense and high in freshness and appeal. Try the crab cakes which are a local specialty. It can be busy, so if you can, go at off hours.
Food was fine but every single table needed to be shimmed. They were super uneven and very hard not to tip your glass of water everywhere. The tables are also super close together, which made it even more awkward.
We were staying at a modest hotel nearby that did not offer breakfast. But I saw that the Marriott Marquis Anthem was mere steps away so we made reservations. We will definitely come here again. We were greeted so warmly and our waiter was wonderful as were the people serving the food at the buffet. Everyone was so warm and welcoming! And we really felt cared for every step of the way. We are elderly but not disabled. Getting that little bit of extra care means a lot to us at this stage of life. We got it from everyone today. And I haven’t even gotten to the food which was fabulous and abundant. I had expected very high prices and was willing to pay but the cold breakfast which we had was a bargain and provided more than enough to fuel us for the morning. The space is bright and cheerful besides. The Anthem is a winner in every way.
Food was okay but I would say that being able to cook eggs properly is the fundamental requirement of a good breakfast place. I would say it was average. Cappuccino was good.
If you like grilled cheese-this has the BEST one ever!!
Waiter couldn’t remember my order and came back to clarify. Still didn’t get what I ordered.
Antham was very convenient for the business lunch due to the location close to the convention center.
I booked my reservation for 12:00 through Open /Table. I was at the reception desk at 11:55. Another, 4 person group with a 12:15 reservation was sat before me and my party. Also, the waiter was not very attentive.
The burgers were fantastic, portions wonderful. Tasty fries as well! Service was so good, I will return on my next visit to DC!
We came for the Hot Shoppe experience but found much more. The crab cakes were great.
We were so very impressed with this lobby hotel restaurant. Perfect for our business dinner of 8.
Soup was good, but lukewarm. Caesar salad dressing was more of vinaigrette. Service was okay.
More than 1 napkin at the table and some of the silverware was dirty and we had to request replacements. The table had not fully been wiped down and there was some food on the floor underneath. We were not given any menus and after we had received our drinks we had to stop a passing server to ask for them. It took a long time to get someone's attention to get the bill and then we had to leave the table to find someone to process the payment for it. The food was decent but the service and cleanliness of the restaurant was not acceptable.
Ate here twice while attending a conference. Food was delicious. I would eat here even if not staying at this hotel.
They were very accommodating despite our party of 5 coming in waves. I had the seared tuna salad and asked for the tuna barely seared. There was six large pieces of tuna which I really loved. Salad was very good, would have been out of this world if they used some type of wasabi dressing.
Food was not very fresh and/or over cooked.
Perfect for our business meeting
The food was fine and the ambiance OK. But, after we ate our meal, the staff started pulling all the tables and chairs off the floor for what appeared an upcoming event. It became noisy and disruptive to the business conversation. We were sitting in a dining area with only one other table as they removed all the other furniture around us. Its as if we were being forced to leave.
Typical Marriott breakfast. Lots of options on the buffet, most good quality. Service spotty. Overall it’s fine.
Food and ambiance was good but the service wasn't so great as our waitress had a slight language barrier and she was not very attentive.
The menu is pretty basic but the seared rare tuna salad nicoise I had was very fresh and tasty. The ambiance is Earl Schieb's living room. (Robin Williams joke for bright and a bit garrish)
It's good for business food but would take a customer to the nicer Arrozo restaurant attched to the Marriott if budget allowed.
Just had the breakfast buffet. Large selection and pretty good food.
Loved it. Food was great and service was great. Will return.
We did not come because you were closed. Why would you allow a reservation knowing that you are closed.
I went for the classic Hot Shoppes experience. The service was poor, the food was not cooked well, the cake was frozen, and the prices were high for what we had.
