I had asked a pretty simple request when making my reservation that was met above and beyond expectations. Food and service was top notch. We will back again.
Food is outstanding, and I love the ambiance. Also love the small portions for appetizers, which I often make my meal of 3 or 4 so I can get more things. It can be pretty loud on a weekend night, like a busy Italian trattoria, and can feel a bit crowded, maybe a little beyond cozy, but once you are seated and eating and drinking you won't think about it! but has a great neighborhood feel. I like going during the week.
This is our Andersonville "spot"! It feels like you're part of a big fat Italian family when you dine at Anteprima. My favorite part? The huge side car that comes with your very reasonably priced (and delicious) wines.
Great ambiance, delicious fresh seasonal food, top-notch service, and never disappoints!
Great ambiance, but noisy. Took too long to get cocktails and bread, pasta is good but the portions are extremely small. Also ordered whitefish and it wasn’t even mediocre. Great neighborhood is probably the draw because it was packed.
I ordered brisket but was very disappointed at how fatty the meat was. But the starters, sides, and bread were very good, wine was excellent, and we enjoyed the ambiance of this vibrant Italian restaurant. I will go back and have something else, to be sure.
Excellent food service and wine selection
The food was excellent, pretty authentic Italian food. The pasta was homemade and really good. The restaurant was a quite noisy but nothing we couldn’t handle. The house made limoncello is great too. Really great experience, thoroughly recommend.
We had the price fixe meal with wine. The wines were all very good and full pours, a bargain for $20. The food was good to very good. 1st course: excellent polenta. 2nd courses: very nice sausage, flavorful but oily ravioli. Bread pudding was a bit dry; lemon panna cotta was light and refreshing. Waiter was excellent but busser was too eager to grab our plates before we’d finished. Hostess was pleasant. All in all a nice experience and would return.
Another great meal at Anteprima this weekend! Brought an out-of-town friend who was most impressed! I usually have the steak with Arugula but opted for ravioli, which didn't disappoint. Can't wait for Spring when the outdoor space opens. Keep up the great work!
Excellent food. My issue was our server. If someone chooses not to drink alcohol, why are you calling someone out at the table? My husband has chosen to not drink . It is NOT the servers business and he should respect that!!!
Food, service and atmosphere were all amazing. We tried this place for Andersonville restaurant week and we were able to try several items on the menu- all worth coming back for! They also have a huge wine menu that our server was very knowledgeable on. Will definitely come back!
We very much enjoyed the restaurant. Service was attentive, the food was excellent. The menu had some good choices, however, I missed having a plain green salad on the menu. Had a chance to talk to the owner before leaving, very friendly and welcoming.
I was pretty disappointed this time. Usually always such a wonderful meal and part of it was that there wasn't alot I could eat on on the menu with dietary restrictions. They are willing to help make it custom but still not enough to pick from. Portions were small for sure and the dessert (bread pudding) was very average. It was empty for 7:30 on a weeknight and felt maybe they've missed a beat.
Very warm and helpful customer service - I don’t go that often but they remember me and act like I’m an old friend!
Our appetizers were just delicious as always.
I loved the fish stew that was very tasty. My friend thought the lamb manicotti was outstanding. This is the one place I always have desert! My friend and I always share the lemon panacotta and chocolate hazelnut pie! My favorite deserts anywhere!
Exquisite food, excellent service, welcoming atmosphere—a great find!
We dined during Andersonville Restaurant Week and ordered off the special, fixed-price menu. Everything we ordered was excellent, starting with the roasted brussels sprouts on a parsnip puree for me and the griddled polenta with slow-cooked winter greens for my wife. For entrees I enjoyed the complementary flavors of the pan-roasted Lake Superior whitefish with capers and fava bean puree, and my wife liked the Swiss chard and ricotta ravioli with brown butter. For dessert the lemon panna cotta was particularly refreshing. The server was very attentive and helpful with recommendations. Because we dined very early on a Monday, there were only a few customers and thus the restaurant was much quieter than usual.
The food was exquisite, I had the rainbow trout and it was perfectly cooked. The wine was high quality and reasonably priced. The service was wonderful and a very friendly environment. We made a reservation and were seated right upon arrival despite it being crowded.
Missed Valentine's Day & had to come up with a good alternative. Anteprima looked like the perfect place. Cozy neighborhood place with good Italian & good wine. Neither of us have been to this Andersonville gem before. We were not disappointed.
Happened to be Restaurant Week & we both got the specials with the wine pairings. She got the fish entree & I got the sausage. Both were excellent & the wines we're perfect. We plan to come back soon & sample the rest of the menu.
This is a great place, the food and service is solid. Make a reservation for an early time slot. After 7pm and you are done for. The noise level when the place if full is impossible to tolerate. The tables are very close together. Both my wife and I ate our meals and dessert very quickly in order to leave as fast as possible to get away from the noise. We didn't have much conversation on our date night as we couldn't hear one another from across the table.
The site is making me write a certain number of characters when all I want to say is we both thought the trout was outstanding.
Fantastic food, wine, and service. Would return in a heartbeat.
Excellent, as usual.
The salmon was outstanding! It was a great place to have dinner with a small group of friends.
The food was delicious. The problem is that not much of it is given per order. We both ordered the large portion of two pasta dishes in addition to an appetizer, a cider and a glass of wine. Even after eating all the bread sticks, we walked out still hungry.
Tables are jammed together in the dining room. Our dining neighbors were to close for comfort.
In terms of value, this restaurant was a miss. I'd suggest eating at Calo instead.
The food and service are good here, but the restaurant is unpleasantly crowded and noisy at peak times, and there are more tables jammed in than the limited space can accommodate. On our last visit we were uncomfortably seated at a table right by the door, with a cold breeze blowing over us each time it opened. Our waiter had to practically climb over our table to get to the one behind us. Still, the food is reliably good, and dining here can be pleasant at off-peak times.
We are regulars and always delighted by Anteprima
Small upscale neighborhood gem with rustic Italian menu. Tables are close together and the room filled up after 7pm. Amazing array of starters, unique pastas and decent desserts. Our favorites were bread basket, beet salad, duck entree , spaghetti cacio e Pepe and hazelnut torte. Service was attentive and helpful.
Wonderful food and service. It was somewhat noisy, which made it challenging to hear those not sitting directly next to you. Noise level aside, the meal was wonderful and I definitely plan on going back!
First time on a Friday night. Will return on a quieter evening mid week.
The entrees seemed smaller. Still delicious. The noise was deafening. We couldn’t hear each other talk. The tin ceiling needs to be replaced. I would recommend for early week. The weekends are no longer tolerable. Very difficult to have a good experience.
Prix Fix was an incredible value and prepared to perfection. Win.
Excellent food as usual
Beautiful ambiance, and lovely cozy atmosphere. We ordered the rabbit liver mousse and the carmelized fennel, which comes with saffron aioli, for appetizers and they were delicious!! They have an expansive Italian wine list and great cocktails, and the server was professional and friendly and recommended wine options. I had the orecchiette with lamb sausage, which was other-worldly and exceptional! Compliment the romantic evening with a tiramisu and you'll be all set! definitely recommend!
I would not recommend this restaurant, even though the food is really good. The tables are on top of each other and the noise level makes it impossible to hear the person across from you.
We had a very nice dinner. The food was good, wine excellent, service very good. It can be noisy on weekends, but we had a fun evening.
Cute little restaurant but very loud and busy. Hostess was very nice, wish we had her as our waiter. Our waiter was just a jerk. The guy didn’t smile once and I felt like he was talking down to us. I saw so many other waiters talking and laughing with their tables. Our time there was just sour.
The food was ok nothing special.
Service was poor, felt ignored. Stayed for only one drink and left, too many other great restaurants in the area
I have been here many times and have never been disappointed. Anteprima is a wonderful spot. I would recommend ordering from the specials as they're always trying something new and delicious.
