The bathroom floor was very sticky. The food was ok but not as good as I remembered it from past visited.
The food was good; salad was fresh and fish perfectly grilled and seasoned. The decor was strange - bright led lights in the front of the narrow restaurant gave it a cheap look. Open kitchen wasn't attractive. Lower and upper dining rooms open to 2-story entrance area featured tvs. I was seated downstairs which had a more upscale look that seemed odd with a flatscreen facing the seating. Water was replenished adequately. I can't remember being in a NY restaurant where I was never asked how my meal was, and servers were not warm, which accounts for my rating in service. Prices are on the high end ($28 for whole fish, many apps in mid-teens) and with the ambiance and service, not worth it, even with the $10 coupon I had.
Best Turkish food we've had in ages! Next time we are in New York we will definitely eat there again.
Had a very nice time at this restaurant. Food was good. Order the Dorado or the grilled shrimp. Yum! No ambiance but very good food and quiet. A great place to be able to hear your friends talk.
An ok option for pre-theater. They do have a pre-fixe menu and it wasn't crowded at all. The bread and hummus were excellent but the salmon was over-salted and fishy. I don't think i will return. There are plenty of other restaurants to choose from in that neighborhood.
Delicious food at a price that leaves some money in your pocket The large salad easily fed three and the grilled Dorado was large, flavorful and moist
Welcoming staff...good food...good for date or pre-theater meal...large portions...yummy desserts
The appetizers ( we tried many) were quite good. However the main dishes were just ok. Not spiced enough, not bad but not something exciting. The desserts were decent and they graciously gave us extra pieces. Service was excellent, food came very quickly and the wait staff were very attentive and friendly. So not bad but not anything outstanding.
Excellent, calm restaurant near the theater district with a tasty lunch and an affordable price.
What a wonderful restaurant. The music in the background to the food on the table, it was all around 5 stars. I loved that they had a very large variety of things on the menu. The servers were also very friendly, they explained every dish in detail and was not in a rush to get you out.
Consistently delicious food with excellent service and accommodating wait staff. Very reasonable lunch prix fixe menu. The hummus and babaganousch with their warm bread is amazing. You won't leave hungry!!!
Great place for a pre-theater dinner!
Really loved dining here, I surprised by all the variety of vegetarian and meat entrees. Its like the center point of everything. Food came out really timely, had a great conversation with the staff, I also loved that the tables were spacious and servers were not pushy. Will be back again soon.
Consistently great food and attentive service. Excellent place for lunch with 2 course prix fixe specials.
What a great find! The food was delicious and the wait staff was attentive. Very generous portions.
Cozy atmosphere, friendly service, delicious food. This is the real deal. Home country hospitality. Went with family and we enjoyed a dull spread of spreads, kebabs and dessert. Everything was fresh and flavorful, from the pickled veggies to the decadent dessert. Sultan’s delight (waiter recommended) was a pleasant surprise of tender stewed meat over a smooth eggplant purée. And the baskets full of warm, fresh bread (and bottle of Turkish wine!) make the meal. Reasonably priced for the quality of the food and service. I’ll be back.
excellent place for dinner. good food, very friendly staff
Delicious food, great service, we had a wonderful time!
Lovely atmosphere, the chef was really on his day on my visit, i really thought he had a special touch on everything. The selection of meats were outstanding. Very affordable place in midtown too. Loved the PreFix Dinner Menu.
Very comfortable for a casual dinner. Not much atmosphere but pleasant.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We wanted to eat prior to seeing a show and had trouble finding seating for 7. We ended up going here and the food and service was great. The prices are reasonable as well.
Average food, not particularly friendly staff and poor value compared to other local eateries we visited. Would we go back or recommend a friend. No!
We returned and brought out-of-town friends. Had dinner before a Broadway show. Fabulous food. Had a great time with our waiter. Would highly recommend.
Amazing Deal with a notable pre fix menu!
Finding a cozy and less pricey restaurant was hard in midtown but this stood out really well. I tried the 3 course prefix menu with appetizer, entree, dessert coffee or tea and it was such a great deal. Food was really fresh and authentic as they stated it. This will be my first stop pre-theater from now on.
We were all pleasantly surprised by AnTalia. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. There were ten of us for pre-theater and one came very late. They got him a plate very quickly. They were flexible about dividing apps and entrees and described what everything was and what was in it. The food was perfectly decent. Some dishes better than others but the quality was high. This place is a real find in the touristy, overpriced theater district.
Very authentic!! I thought this was the closest you can get to a Turkish cuisine in Usa. I've been to Turkey many times and found most of the restaurants in here to be just lacking either the spices or hospitality. These boys really had it all. I tried their Iskender kebab, thin slices of Turkish gyro server over Turkish bread. (Not pita) topped with home made tomato sauce (not can) with plain yogurt on the side. Also had their glass of Ancyra- The Turkish red wine that is similar to Pinot noir, just the right food and wine.
I will return in a heartbeat as soon as I'm in town for more real Turkish Food.
Food was fine but nothing particularly special and restaurant lacked ambiance. This place could be so much better with just a little more decor and atmosphere, a few more selections on menu, and slightly bigger courses. Appetizers should have at least 4 of each item not 3.
The food and service are excellent --the ambiance humble. The customer gets alot of value for the money.
We shared 3 appetizers and all were delicious. Service attentive.
My wife and I had tickets to Carnegie Hall and although the restaurant is a bits of a walk we decided to try it because we enjoy Turkish food. We ordered a plate that contained three appetizers and it was just enough food for the two of us. The entrees were quite large and delicious. I had the Adana kabob and Georganne had the lamb kabob and both were cooked to perfection. The Adana was the best I have had in New York City. We had an excellent Turkish wine with the meal and all in all had a wonderful meal. We will go back when we do the theater since it is only a few blocks from the theater district.
They had been listed as vegan and it was not true most meals had dairy, or meat. The food was only okay at best
Worth knowing about this mid-town restaurant as it has an extensive Turkish menu and, especially for the location, is reasonably priced. The adana and a chicken dish, though well seasoned, were a bit too dry.
Always get a good meal and the noise level is excellent for conversation. Good service
Great food! Very reasonably priced and service was great.
Good food and good service.
The restaurant is near the theaters east of Broadway so you have extra time. Very quiet and service is quick. The food is okay, nothing special, but the price is reasonable and it's a good location if you don't want to rush through dinner to get to the theater.
Wonderful food, warm and inviting staff, fair prices. Will be back!
Excellent service, nice menu, and fantastic food. Absolutely coming back here!
Was very much looking forward to this restaurant due to the large selection of vegetarian choices - I had the vegetarian kabobs ($20), sides of hummus ($7), and baba ganoush ($7), dessert ($7). Portions are modest and so this was just the right amount to order. For my taste, the food was Ok, nothing special or memorable. I don't plan to return.
Only exception is the dessert which was exceptional - I had the flan
We had fantastic service at our visit to Antalia. Attentive, friendly servers kept our drinks refreshed & bread baskets filled, and provided menu/quantity advice for our group. We all shared some mixed grills and grilled veggie platters alongside a trio of mezze. The food was good, the atmosphere comfortable and welcoming. Overall, we had a great time.
