AnTalia Ratings and Reviews
The appetizers ( we tried many) were quite good. However the main dishes were just ok. Not spiced enough, not bad but not something exciting. The desserts were decent and they graciously gave us extra pieces. Service was excellent, food came very quickly and the wait staff were very attentive and friendly. So not bad but not anything outstanding.
What a wonderful restaurant. The music in the background to the food on the table, it was all around 5 stars. I loved that they had a very large variety of things on the menu. The servers were also very friendly, they explained every dish in detail and was not in a rush to get you out.
Really loved dining here, I surprised by all the variety of vegetarian and meat entrees. Its like the center point of everything. Food came out really timely, had a great conversation with the staff, I also loved that the tables were spacious and servers were not pushy. Will be back again soon.
Cozy atmosphere, friendly service, delicious food. This is the real deal. Home country hospitality. Went with family and we enjoyed a dull spread of spreads, kebabs and dessert. Everything was fresh and flavorful, from the pickled veggies to the decadent dessert. Sultan’s delight (waiter recommended) was a pleasant surprise of tender stewed meat over a smooth eggplant purée. And the baskets full of warm, fresh bread (and bottle of Turkish wine!) make the meal. Reasonably priced for the quality of the food and service. I’ll be back.
Amazing Deal with a notable pre fix menu!
Finding a cozy and less pricey restaurant was hard in midtown but this stood out really well. I tried the 3 course prefix menu with appetizer, entree, dessert coffee or tea and it was such a great deal. Food was really fresh and authentic as they stated it. This will be my first stop pre-theater from now on.
We were all pleasantly surprised by AnTalia. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. There were ten of us for pre-theater and one came very late. They got him a plate very quickly. They were flexible about dividing apps and entrees and described what everything was and what was in it. The food was perfectly decent. Some dishes better than others but the quality was high. This place is a real find in the touristy, overpriced theater district.
Very authentic!! I thought this was the closest you can get to a Turkish cuisine in Usa. I've been to Turkey many times and found most of the restaurants in here to be just lacking either the spices or hospitality. These boys really had it all. I tried their Iskender kebab, thin slices of Turkish gyro server over Turkish bread. (Not pita) topped with home made tomato sauce (not can) with plain yogurt on the side. Also had their glass of Ancyra- The Turkish red wine that is similar to Pinot noir, just the right food and wine.
I will return in a heartbeat as soon as I'm in town for more real Turkish Food.
Food was fine but nothing particularly special and restaurant lacked ambiance. This place could be so much better with just a little more decor and atmosphere, a few more selections on menu, and slightly bigger courses. Appetizers should have at least 4 of each item not 3.
My wife and I had tickets to Carnegie Hall and although the restaurant is a bits of a walk we decided to try it because we enjoy Turkish food. We ordered a plate that contained three appetizers and it was just enough food for the two of us. The entrees were quite large and delicious. I had the Adana kabob and Georganne had the lamb kabob and both were cooked to perfection. The Adana was the best I have had in New York City. We had an excellent Turkish wine with the meal and all in all had a wonderful meal. We will go back when we do the theater since it is only a few blocks from the theater district.
The restaurant is near the theaters east of Broadway so you have extra time. Very quiet and service is quick. The food is okay, nothing special, but the price is reasonable and it's a good location if you don't want to rush through dinner to get to the theater.
Was very much looking forward to this restaurant due to the large selection of vegetarian choices - I had the vegetarian kabobs ($20), sides of hummus ($7), and baba ganoush ($7), dessert ($7). Portions are modest and so this was just the right amount to order. For my taste, the food was Ok, nothing special or memorable. I don't plan to return.
Only exception is the dessert which was exceptional - I had the flan
We had fantastic service at our visit to Antalia. Attentive, friendly servers kept our drinks refreshed & bread baskets filled, and provided menu/quantity advice for our group. We all shared some mixed grills and grilled veggie platters alongside a trio of mezze. The food was good, the atmosphere comfortable and welcoming. Overall, we had a great time.
Very, very accommodating service with excellent food (though the gyro was a bit dry-4). One guest arrived very early from out of town and was warmly welcomed. Two guests were late...no problem. Nice selection of apps. Love the shepard salad (with cheese), something we should be able to make at home but it's just not as good. And where else can you find manti? Great flavors, excellent pre fixe choices. You must try it.
We ate here on a family vacation. From A to Z the food was delicious, well prepared, flavorful and propbably the best Turkish food we've had on the east coast. We got a wide variety of appetizers and entrees for our party of 7. The wait staff was courteous and attentive and available at all times. The restaurant is spacious and very nicely decorated. We highly recommend it so much so that you don't want to miss this opportunity for authentic and healthy Turkish food.
