Meet The Chef

Chef Sarwan Singh has always loved food and his passion has taken him across Canada. He spent the last 15 years sharing this passion with friends, students and co-workers. He began his culinary career as a helping hand with his mother. Originally a student of ITI Veer Savarkar Institute, New Delhi, he discovered his true interests and diverted his formal training from the India World Habitat Center. He worked for 12 years in various hotels in India and has been working in Canada since the past 8 years. He records all his experiences, both good and bad, in a journal. Sarwan joined Anokhi in 2018 as head chef and brings with him a wealth of fine dining experience. His skill speaks for itself, whipping up an extraordinarily savory delicacy with simple ingredients.

Booked for 10 people.. Server tried to cram us on a table for 8 people.. Service was very slow, food arrived without serving spoons. Waited 10 mins for the server to bring the payment machine, as she kept forgetting and getting busy with other tables. The dahi kebab had an inbuilt hair which we pointed out to server. I would not recommend or go back to this restaurant.. Very bad and slow service for a high end restaurant.

Great food and great service....Would suggest to surprise the guest who is celebrating birthdays with something to make them remember the occasion. I am mentioning this as you had asked what was the reason for the booking initially

Food was excellent. Service left much to be desired. Waiting staff need’s training. We asked for Masala chai which was on menu. Coffee etc not available. We went there was lunch from 1 a 3. There were only 6 other patrons at Friday lunch

Food was amazing, portion for appetizers is very small for the price, ambience was amazing. Only issue was lack of service - we waited for server for 30 mins for the bill and they don't check in on you frequently.

It was birthday celebration. Food taste was adequate and very pricey. If you have taste nirvana, maharaja, daal roti restaurants their food taste is amazing for their prices. Anokhi restaurant everything is pricey but taste is not there to match cost.

Mandeep was helpful and the food was quite good. Seating was a challenge as we asked for the 6 person table which never ended up being taken and our table was small for all the food but otherwise a good experience.
