Served in a modern and eclectic setting, the Annapolis Smokehouse is putting a new twist on barbecue. We serve all of the traditional favorites like brisket, ribs and pulled pork with all the sides you expect, plus some items you may not expect like lightly smoked crab cakes, pulled pork pierogies and nachos made with fresh, hand cut potato chips and smoked tomato salsa. We feature daily specials that will push the boundaries of barbecue, while maintaining the traditional standard of meat smoked "low and slow". We look forward to seeing you! ***If there is no reservation available, please contact the store directly to use our call ahead seating service. Instead of walking in and waiting, we can have the next open table ready upon your arrival!***
This was our first time, so we asked Justin, our amazing server for guidance. He made great recommendations. The brisket is amazing! The ribs and pulled pork were very good, as well. All worth a return trip, but I would go back just for the brussel sprouts, which was one of the sides. This is legit barbecue, with southern sides.
No ones fault. We came there for a Sunday evening dinner, but the bar was packed, loud and raucous.
We were forced outside. When we went outside we realized that we really didn't care for picnic table
Sorry to be negative. Just didn't work out for us.
I have been many times and this time the smoked wings(which are my favorites) were not as flavorful as they usually are. I will call this a one off and try the restaurant again. Great service.
Excellent mac and cheese with brisket. If you love pierogies, do not try them here!
We have enjoyed dining at the Smokehouse on many occasions. Pulled pork, brisket, burgers, ribs, etc. are all excellent main courses. However the wings are a must do - every time. Perfect. This time, we were a little adventurous and also tried the pirogies - wow.
You can't miss at The Smokehouse.
Found the place to be an excellent casual restaurant
Everything was outstanding in all respects from start to finish, the hostess, server, the entree preparation time, and of course the repast itself. We should most definitely like to stop by again!
We love their food and their wings are amazing. The Cobb salad was great too. The only thing was our server split our Cobb salad and then charged us two dollars more. I would’ve ordered the salad myself and just shared with my husband. He said he gave us two appetizer portions but that is not what I ordered. He should’ve at least told us what he was going to do.
This was our 46th anniversary and we noted that on the reservation. There was no mention of it during our visit. It wasn’t acknowledged in any way. Disappointing. The food was good but has been better in the past. We weren’t offered beverage refills or dessert. Could have been better.
Service was excellent. The food was tasty and the prices were great. The cramberry mule was soociois. We will definitely be back.
I tried the smokehouse sampler, my wife had 1/2 slab ribs, great tasting, large portions, fast service. Try the cornbread for one of the sides it comes with a cream sauce that is delicious!
Great food. I would suggest the smoked wings in any flavor. They are all amazing.
Great food, service and cocktails. Very friendly staff.
I completely loved the experience! Great food! Great service! All around.. GREAT!!!
This is a local place for Barbecue . Theres lots to choice from. Their weekend brunch menu has breakfast foods to ribs and burgers. Also Bloody Mary's are inexpensive. During the lunch hour it's good for kids .It does get a bit loud at the bar . There are TV's set up for watching sports. The pulled pork and ribs are good. They have good salads and breakfast foods. Enjoy.
Just a great casual place....with superb barbecue and several other unique menu items. Tonight I ordered a burger but it was so good. It just hit the spot. For an appetizer I ordered the soup du jour which was a chicken vegetable. It was superb--with enough chicken that it was almost a meal in itself.
The barbecue here is simply extraordinary--no other way to describe it. And you cannot beat the friendliness of the staff.
I wrote a review about a year ago that the service wasn’t great and we never got to experience the food because they ran out of what we ordered before they could give it to us. After many months of staying away, we decided to give Annapolis Smokehouse another shot a month or two ago. The waiter actually remembered us and the service was great, food was delicious and we thought it must have simply been a bump in the road. This time I called ahead to request our waiter specifically, because he left such an impression on us, and was told that he’s no longer working at Annapolis Smokehouse. This should have been my first clue. We arrived and were seated immediately, good first start. The waiter took our drink and appetizer order. The appetizer took forever to come out and when it did finally arrive it was cold, literally the sauce was congealing. When we sent it back, it was clear they simply stuck it in the microwave and piled more on top because the middle was still cold when it came back out. The dinners eventually arrived, and they were fine but not the warmest either. I don’t know what happened to this place, but it’s not good. Probably not a big surprise that good wait staff is leaving, but sad never the less. We do love the wings and such, but I think we’ll go to Mission BBQ instead from now on. It’s fast casual, but they do it right.
Everything is always wonderful here! Great place to take my momma for Mother’s Day!
We've been to the Annapolis Smokehouse several times . . . a favorite!
We appreciate the authentic smokehouse flavor . . . well developed with a great variety of offerings.
Three Stars on this occasion -- since they ran out of Ribs (WHAAAAAT?!?!) and Roast Chicken (DBL. WHAAAAAAT?!?!) at around 3:00 PM. This is simply bad planning, and ridiculous for a RIB and CHICKEN Smokehouse . . . !!! Of course, this was for Mother's Day, and my wife's two favorites??? Ribs and Chicken!!!
I hope whoever is responsible will learn from their failure . . .
PS . . . we'll still go back . . . :-)
They would have received a better rating but they ran out of ribs.
Went here for Mother's Day dinner. The value was good and the mood was relaxed. The fried chicken was collectively disliked by the group. However the bbq wings were awesome as was the Bourbon on Cherry bbq sauce!
This is a great place. It's always very good. Food and service is great!
Great food, creative menu, friendly staff.
Overall a very nice BBQ place. A big step up from the Hidaway in Odenton. Not cheap but a good amount of food for the money. Brisket was excellent and a nice beer selection. Dog friendly seating outside. Waitress was excellent but the food took a bit, get an appetizer and you won't notice the wait. Armadillo eggs were terrific.
Wonder food and service. The wings were amazing
Very disappointed in the food here. The "award winning" wings were good, though a little burnt (but smoked nicely). The ribs and brisket we tried were both extremely dry and inedible were it not for the sauces provided. Sides were good but unremarkable (brussel sprouts, onion rings, potato salad, cornbread).
As we were traveling and don't often get to Annapolis, we have little to no reason to go back. But I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is into good 'que, unfortunately.
Best bbq in town for sure, pulled pork, brisket, and wings are off the chart good.
Food is always good. Place is always cold and loud. Bundle up but expect to eat well.
Rebecca our waitress was great, knowledgeable and a believer in the SmokeHouse while not overselling. Genuine.
Friday night was loud because of happy hour
We always love the fresh food and comfortable ambiance of our neighborhood smokehouse!
Great food, excellent service. Thanks for the birthday treat!
Had a wonderful lunch; food was very tasty. While the restaurant was very busy, the service was great.
Pretty crowded and noisy on a Friday night. Waiter got us drinks and some appetizers (onion rings are enormous and very tasty), and then promptly forgot us for 30 minutes. He never did come back on his own, as I had to wave him over to just cash us out as we didn't want to wait any longer. The food is very good so I hate to downgrade the review too much because one waiter wasn't able to manage his workload on a busy night....but, he should have.
Awesome food, great service. You have to accept that this place is serving food and drinks, atmosphere is towards cafeteria style. Fast and loud, but great people. Food quality overrides everything. Try the ribs or the sampler!
My husband and I have been going here for the past few years. Up until this visit the menu, food, and wait staff were on point. Now we return after about six months and the menu changed, atmosphere, and quality. The smoked wings were over cooked and did not appear to be actually smoked but over baked. I ordered a margarita which was served in a water glass filled to the top with ice. When I mentioned this to the waiter he replied that he didn’t make the drink. I said I don’t want another drink or discount on the bill. I’ll just not ever return.
It’s now a tavern so that may explain the difference in what we experienced.
Consistently good food. Brussels sprouts weren't good ; they were undercooked and crunchy. Also the bbq chicken isn't great. Its always loud because nothing is upholstered and there are no curtains or other soft fabrics to absorb noise. Its also cold in there in winter. But go for the food.
Good and reliable. Brussels sprouts tend to be under done and it's kind of cold and noisy. Otherwise this is one of our go to places.
They remember you, even if you haven’t been there lately. We took a hiatus after a poor experience, which I previously wrote a review about. This visit renewed our faith and commitment. From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable. Our waiter was efficient, delivering the right amount of attention. The food was exactly as expected, great smoked meats that are the best in the area in my opinion.
Excellent food and service. No complaints. The sampler was a good choice with ribs, brisket and pulled pork. Cornbread a little dry.
