It was great, good food and friendly staff
Really great place overall always enjoy anju. Maybe I’m old, music was crazy loud :( (I’m 34)
I requested a table for six so we could include a high chair with the sitting, but they said nothing was available. Our reservation was for 5:30p.m. and not one table was used that whole time while we were squishing into the booth.
Food was amazing and the lady who helped us was very kind, prompt, she seemed knowledgeable about each of the items on the menu so we’ll be back for sure!
The food and service was excellent! The brussel sprouts were incredible!
I love Anju. The food was great, the wine suggestion was perfect for the meal. Every time I go back here I try more of the menu and nothing has disappointed me yet.
Great service and food!
Food was out of this world. KFC sliders amazing.
Very noisy that night
Anju is in the top 5 of our favourite restaurants and the regular menu is always incredible! We just weren’t too impressed with the dine out menu. It Didn’t seem up to par with what we had expected for the pricing. We also tipped the server a generous 20% on our bill and she openly made a face of disgust within our range of sight. We will of course be back just wasn’t too impressed with this last visit.
Enjoying a weekend away to Calgary and had a fantastic experience! Loved the crispy tofu, spring rolls, Brussels sprouts and mussels (soaked up with toasted garlic sourdough). Server was excellent, as was the welcome hostess table. Super ambiance with a good crowd and contemporary interior. Would definitely recommend to others.
The waitress we had made amazing recommendations on the menu for both food and drink and we were not disappointed. We were they on date night before a concert and we will definitely be back again.
The food was very good, loved the kimchi and lettuce wraps. Our waitress was very nice, friendly and awesome at her job. Had a great time!
Great evening with friends. Our server was lovely as was the rest of the staff.. plus ambiance is amazing and I appreciated the heater in the cold bathroom. 10/10!
Loved the experience of dining at Anju - really enjoyed how the food was presented.
Service started off slower than we would have liked as it took 10 minutes to be asked if we wanted a drink or appetizer. We started off with the KFC chicken sliders which were completely raw. Not slightly pink I mean spit on the table raw.
Date night ruined. Service wasn't great even after the incident.
We had a guest dinning with us that has an allergy to nuts. She told the server upon ordering that she has an allergy. The server said no problem. We got one dish that was fine then the next dish that came out we put a small portion on all of our plates and had begun to eat when the server came order and said oh by the way that dish has cashews in it. My friend with the allergy immediately spit out the food and her mouth began to swell. She server did go get Benadryl from the back so my friend could have one. They took the dish away but left the contaminated plate. The manager came over and was mildly apologetic. My friend was fine because she thankfully hadn’t swallowed the food it was just in her mouth. But was feeling very nervous to eat anything else for fear of dying. The rest of the dishes came and were enjoyed by the rest of the table. My poor friend was so upset and scared she couldnt eat anymore food. The restaurant didn’t handle the situations very well and processed to ignore our table for the rest of the night. It was a very poor experience overall. I hope this restaurant doesn’t kill someone else in the future who has allergies.
Great service, food and ambiance!
Will go back and recommend 😃
Food for brunch not up to par with regular menu items
Service was brutal. Was only served one dish, had to wait 15+ minutes for my dates meal. Waiter didn’t seem to care. Drinks also took a long time to come out. Food was good, but did not make up for the terrible service
Food and service is absolutely tops however, the noise level is much to be desired. Way tooooo loud!
Went there based on online reviews...thus, had high expectations. However, I found the whole experience was underwhelming. Generally, over-priced for the quality of food.
First time experience- Drink menu was super cool and explained well. We tried the Brussel Sprouts which i thought i didn’t care for but when they are done properly sooo good. And the spicy peppers amazing.
Dinner we tried the Wagu Beef and the Soy Chicken which is huge!
Only disappointment was the dinner took way too long and we sat there for an hour so by the time it came we just tasted it. Supposedly training new people. But very poor timing!
We will return and try again. Ambience of restaurant is great for dinner or group.
It’s so yummy and a tad fancy yet so affordable, one of my favourites
We love Anju! It’s our number one go to restaurant in the city. Great vibes, flavorful food and fantastic service!
Wonderful evening with great flavors, ambiance and service. Highly recommend a evening here.
Delicious brunch, great value and lovely ambience. I can imagine given the food that this place must get busy so if you’re looking for a quiet more intimate setting I would suggest going early for brunch. I’m very much looking forward to trying this restaurant again for dinner!
Ambiance was a bit lacking, overall too bright. Food was delicious but server’s food knowledge could have been better. Overall would still go back anytime!
Excellent food. Fantastic service. Will definitely be back.
We enjoyed ANJU. On street parking. Pleasant surroundings. Attentive but not intrusive service. Delicious small plates to share with/among a friend(s). The brussel sprouts were a notable standout. Not inexpensive but definitely worth a visit ... or two.
Family celebration at Anju. Our first visit, and every dish as suggested was shared by all at the table and we all agreed that every dish was different from one another & exceptional in flavour, including coffee, tea, & deserts. The waitress was knowledgeable, helpful, kind, professional, & quick. The music was mod. loud with a good clear sound system. New music, not annoying pop. The atmosphere was modern, calm and warm. What more can you ask for. Already recommended to many friends.
Love the unique Asian fusion!
My favourite restaurant in Calgary, never dissipoints.
Worth trying. The food and the drinks were delicious, no problems there.
The room we were seated in was very loud due to it being full of people talking. It was hard to speak with the server because it was so loud. Half way through dinner, the fire alarm system went off . The audible portion went away eventually, but the strobing lights remained.
The dinner would have been reasonably priced IF the ambiance wasn't so loud/distracting. Because the ambiance was not ideal, I would say the entire experience was overpriced and value was not great.
Very underwhelming. We were really disappointed.
We braved a bitter cold Alberta night to dine at Anju and it was worth every cold, arctic shiver. Everything was exceptional with the brussels sprouts and charred peppers our favorites. As good as anything in San Francisco or Portland.
This was our second time at Anju. First time was 2 yrs ago. Our first visit was not impressive as the noise level was over the top and the food was ok but the portions were small. This second visit was quieter as it was SuperBowl Sunday and it was -27C outside . Service was outstanding and attentive. Food was above average although 2 dishes were very salty. Desserts were delicious.
They charge a cake cutting fee per person $3
Loved it! Great setting, awesome service, delicious food! Would definitely go back
Great dinner Saturday night, very interesting menu based on small items and everyone sharing. Brussels sprouts were great, enjoyed the mussels and hot pot.
