Very tasty food! So much that we wanted to try, so we will have to go back.
Creative & delicious modern Korean. Upbeat modern decor & music. It's edgy enough but without pretension. Recommend the Friday night feature sashimi -- it was soooooo deeelish!
I really enjoyed all of our shared plates although the first time in years I was awake until 4:30am with what felt like the MSG effect.
Amazing place. Food was amazing tried so many things and everything was amazing!
The food was delicious as always, the service was very quick and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Anju is always an excellent choice.
I loved the food, but I wished some dishes had more quantity for the price paid.
One of our favourites! We’ll always be back.
Excellent! Food, service, atmosphere. Unique Korean flavours are very tantalizing . Value for the price is exceptional.
Extremely poor service. Server told portions are small so I ordered 3 plates. Food arrived with 2 entree and 1 starter size. That is too much food for 1 person. The whole dining affair was slow. On business travel but this has to be the worst meal of the week. Never going back.
As always Anju did not disappoint. We had a group of 6 and the food was amazing. Always have the Brussel sprouts and the Fried Tofu. Will be back again soon!!
Anju never disappoints, the food is always amazing!
I’ve always had very positive experience going to anju. The food was great and service very personable but professional. Unfortunately when I took my parents to dine for my mom’s bday, we had sufficient service and food. No mention of my mom’s bday, no notable service, and she applied gratuity when it was 4 adults and 2 toddlers. I normally tip 20% but it was a little tacky for her to tell us when the bill came in front of my mom. A little disappointing from one of my go-to restaurant for most outings and work meals
Linda was our server , very knowledgeable , friendly , made our first time experience special.
All 5 of the tapas-style dishes we had were amazing (cucumber + bonito, grilled short rib, crispy tofu, taquitos, and KFC sliders). Each delicious and well prepared, and each with unique presentation and flavor. Well priced too. For 2 people get at least 3 dishes (go for 5 if you're hungry :)
I put “anniversary” as the occasion when asked upon making the reservation. However, no one acknowledged it. I don’t mind, but why ask if you don’t really care?
We loved Anju but we ordered the crispy squid with garlic stems fried rice and well...it was just overpoweringly garlicky. Probably our fault since garlic is in the name but it was hard to eat without something to tone down the garlic flavor. The other dishes we had were phenomenal!
The menu is creative. The flavours are great. Lots of choices. The food came out at a good pace. The desert was a little too big compared to the portion size of the other plates.
Anju never disappoints for food, ambiance and service. For wine... I especially appreciate the wine list and knowledge of the Staff. I chose the 'Sommelier's choice' and it was such fun meeting the Somm and he talked about and served the wine himself. Lots of nice touches and a really lovely evening.
Food has always been amazing but this time
We found many of the dishes lacking flavour and the meat was minimal on the bone and very expensive. We had a lot more left overs then the past times we have been. Service was outstanding.
Good as always.
Good food. But the servers need to stop interrupting conversation. Look for eye contact.
My wife and I came for our anniversary dinner on August 26 - I would estimate this to have been close to our 10th visit to Anju. The food is always excellent, though the atmosphere was louder than usual. We had come for a previous anniversary and the server brought us a complimentary dessert to share, which was a special touch from the restaurant - we did not receive that treatment this time. Still an excellent meal.
I was excited to try this restaurant, and upon first glance the menu looked great. However after taking a closer look and asking a few questions, we realized that most of the food on the menu was quite spicy. We ordered the lettuce wraps, letting the server know that we did not like spice. The prawns came out in a very spicy sauce, so we had to get them replaced. Everything else we ordered we were able to have the spice removed when they were preparing it. The brussel sprouts are AMAZING!! Overall it was a great experience, but if you don't like a lot of spice, be warned.
Some of the dishes were undercook. Server showed concern, spoke to the manager and kitchen staff immediately. Took a % off the total bill. Great service.
One of the best meals I’ve had in a while. Can’t believe it took me so long to check this place out. The kfc chicken burger was to die for. Great cocktails too!
Very consistent. Oxtail tortellini is a must try. Have been going for the last two years and service is always fast even during a busy time.
Everything was great, but the prices are fairly high.
The food was excellent and I plan to go back to try more although the menus were hard to read in places due to the style of the menu holder obscuring the top items on most of the pages. It was also quite noisy as my date and I were sat beside the large table by the kitchen. Overall though its a a good and interesting place that I plan to revisit.
Service was fine, we were dining fairly early (5:30), staff were attentive refilling water glasses etc. Food was quite good we especially liked the smaller sharing plates like the Oxtail tortellini. For the mains we had the halibut and the beef short ribs, both were fine.
100 degrees outside and no AC ... not sure what it was about . Service could have been better
Really great meal. Jess our server was fantastic with suggestions and the food was creative and flavourful. I’m normally anti Asian fusion but this wasn’t really like that. Highly recommend.
The food and ambience was wonderful. Our server Jess was fantastic. She was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and genuinely friendly through our whole evening.
I chose this restaurant because of it being on Avenues top restaurants. It wasn’t quite what we we were hoping for. Everything was just okay, from the food to the service. The ambience and the cocktails were the best part.
If you like spicy this is the place to go! Interesting menu, the ceviche was great and super fresh, brusselsprouts were good but a tad too sweet. Squid fried rice was okay, we went on a really hot day so found most options really heavy for summer. Service was knowledgeable but not very personable. Definitely will be back once the weather gets cooler and we’re craving some comfort food. Overall a pleasant experience.
Great food but ordering was difficult, hard to order gluten free compared to other restaurants, cork bits in my wine and told that’s normal. Wish they could convert some of their dishes to gluten free such as a gluten free fryer and gluten free soy sauce. Taste would remain the same and such a bummer we can’t enjoy most of their wonderful dishes. Very impressed with the flavor combinations!!
Great as always!! The Brussels sprouts was our favourite!
Lo recomiendo. Nos ha encantado. El personal nos recomendó los mejores platos.
The food is delicious - especially the Brussels sprouts. The service was extraordinary with the waitress coming off as friendly and memorable without being invasive or pushy. The drinks were perfect and the waitress was always happy to recommend something.
As always, Anju exceeded our expectations. I came with a group of friends who never had Corean food before, and they absolutely loved everything. The wings, tofu with kimchi, sashimi, and a wonderful ferrero dessert for the end. Our server Jessica was great, she helped us pick the right soju, which was delicious. Anju never dissapoints! Definitely one of the best restaurants in Calgary
The restaurant was quite nice and we got our table right away even though we arrived a half hour early for our reservation. Service was minimal. Our server took a long time between checking on us. The taquitos were very enjoyable, the soup was alright. BC halibut was not very good - dry with only a “bed” of two stalks of asparagus. The sauce wasn’t very well made either. The pork shoulder also wasn’t great. Small portions - despite them being advertised as “shareable”. And it tasted like takeout from a Chinese restaurant.
