Anima... the Italian word for soul .

Anima Trattoria & Wine Bar was developed by husband and wife team, Renaldo and Angela, with the intention of bringing a little piece of Italy to their Etobicoke neighbourhood. Our aspiration is to provide a place where diners can feed their soul while sipping wine. Inspired by the many trattorie across Italy, we strive to provide an upscale dining experience in a casual and cozy setting.

Reflecting the values of fresh and local, which is central to Italian cuisine, Chef Renaldo places a strong emphasis on using the finest ingredients in his cooking, supporting local businesses wherever possible. Each item on Anima’s menu is meant to pair perfectly with one of our versatile wines, which have been carefully selected to reflect Italy’s diverse regions and geography.

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised with our experience at Anima Tratorria. So many good things to say about this restaurant experience. The ambiance inside the restaurant was perfect, the service was excellent, the food was delicious, the portions were just right, great wine selection and the prices were very reasonable. My wife and I will definitely come back.

Hello Fran. Thank you very much for dining with us. We're sorry that you were not satisfied with the service you received on March 2, 2019. We pride ourselves on providing the highest level of service to all our diners. For instance, we were very happy to accommodate your party's special requests for items off the menu and modifications of items on the menu. Our server is new to Anima and we will continue to work with her to ensure she is able to respond to diners with off-menu requests.

This is treasure in the neighborhood. The food is amazing. Chef Renaldo is imaginative and offers great specials. Service is friendly and efficient. We try to visit as often as possible.

Certainly a neighborhood gem, this small family operated restaurant is certainly worth visiting. The wine list is strong. The menu is compact, but the various options ensure dinners of all types will be happy. They easily accommodated my special requests and crafted an amazing pasta dish.

Came here early on a Saturday evening to celebrate 3rd anniversary with my GF. It's a small and cozy place. Staff is attentive and help us with the wine selection. Food and drinks were absolutely delicious. Place did became busy as dinner hour rolled along. Go early if you want a bit a of quietness. I recommend for anyone to give this place a try. :)

Loved this place. From the olives served at the start, to the appetizer to the main dish the quality was outstanding. The flavours were creative and bold. We were one of the only tables on a very quiet Monday night but the service was great and no one was rushing us at all. Highly recommend and I will definitely be back.

Food and service with both outstanding; would definitely recommend. Amazing pastas and wines were enjoyed around the table. Lovely night.
