While the name Angry Pig, may lend to the assumption that our menu is Pork heavy, we have many options. Such as American Sea Bass, Duck Tacos, Salads and a delicious array of shareable apps that shouldn’t be missed!
Our Brunch special is the best in Chicago and cannot be beat! $35 for any entree and bottomless Bloody Mary’s, Mimosa’s and Shorts Local Light Lager!
Dinner for 6 on the early side (Sat @630pm) and it was filling in fast. A vibrant place that makes great use of all of the space available. We got seated in the upper area in the dining side of the room (versus the bar side), right by the open air windows to the outside. The cool breeze later in the night prompted a closing of the windows, but it was nice to be part of the "street feel" until they did.
Service was prompt, and attentive. Everyone loved the appetizers (oysters, avacado rolls, and buratta). Entrees were very good. Many commented they liked the Angry Pig burger as well or better than Au Cheval, which is hard to top. My chili lime chicken entree with mac&cheese was outstanding.
I look forward to my next visit to Angry Pig Tavern.
The food here was amazing!
I LOVE ANGRY PIG
Brunch was so good! Well priced for large portions and delicious food. The service was great and very friendly. The lights above our table flickered which was a little distracting, but that was the only negative.
Great little neighborhood gastropub with solid food and drink menu. Fun atmosphere.
The pork belly and shisito peppers were our of this world. Definitely get them if you like some spice. We also tried the bratwurst, popcorn, avocado chicken rolls, and watermelon salad which were all good, but just can’t compare to the pork belly and peppers.
The server wasn’t very good. He didn’t seem like he knew what he was talking about when we asked questions about the menu and he took a really long time to cone back and/or check on us. I would still go again.
Wonderful unique food and service every time I’ve been here!
The corned beef hash was very tasty. The service was good, too. However, it gets VERY loud in there given all the hard surfaces. I had trouble hearing my friend despite us leaning toward each other over the table. Go outside of peak hours.
Was nice to try something new, and the staff was actually excellent but I think that I like the previous restaurant, Trencherman, better.
Great food and great service while dining in the bar area. Very friendly service but never patronizing or unprofessional
I went once and came back just for the damn grilled cheese. It’s delicious.
There were very few people in the restaurant so it was very quiet. We saw our waiter at the beginning, but it was difficult to get him back (didn't have that second glass of wine). I think he was tied up with a large table, the only other occupied table. Initially all we wanted was salt for the fries (excellent). Finally got salt and pepper from the manager after my husband got up to go and look for someone. Food was good, but not fabulous.
I heard about Angry Pig from a few friends but this was our first time there. I brought a few friends and we were not disappointed! The atmosphere is great and the food even better. The jalapeno popcorn is out of this world! Don't miss this restaurant/bar!
Nice place with its own charming character. Gets a bit loud but that’s okaaaay
Great neighborhood place with good food and fun atmosphere! Enjoyed Saturday’s brunch which appears very popular especially for groups. Followed from Bridge House Tavern which we miss!
Excellent food and service. Great place to together a group of friends.
Delicious Brunch! I can’t wait to try the dinner menu 😋
We really enjoyed our brunch here. The food and ambience were excellent! Love the look of the place, a former bath house. My only issue was, the service started out great but as soon as the place started to get a little bit busy (not crazy busy but normal busy), our server seemed to abandon us. Since it was a special occasion, we had the $35 "champagne brunch" which is actually just bottomless mimosas or bloodies along with your entree item, and found it somewhat challenging to get our money's worth on the drinks in part because of the slow service. Actually, unless you're a pretty big drinker or get the most expensive brunch item on the menu it's really not much of a deal at all. Mimosas are $7 a la carte; I'm not sure about the bloodies. But, you get the picture. All in all though I would definitely go back. The crab cake benedict was superb!
Really good food. Really sub par service. Service was friendly but slow and inaccurate. Some items never arrived. If you want something you need to ask. They will not ask you or notice if anything is lacking.
They were great with accommodating an additional person we had join our group. The food and service were both great! I would definitely go back!
I’ve been here for brunch many times. One of my favorite brunch spots. Bottomless mimosas are a hit!
WE had a very nice dinner and the menu items were very interesting and a good change. They had a good selection of draft craft beers and we enjoyed our dinner very much.
Really good food. Everyone was happy with what they ordered. Our waiter was always refilling our glasses during brunch.
The ambiance and food here were wonderful! I got the wild boar patty melt and it was delicious. Another group favorite ordered was the short rib with cheesy mashed cauliflower.
However, the service was pretty poor. We ordered our appetizers, received them, and finished them, and then waited another 5-10 minutes before we saw our waitress again to put in our entree order. I usually like to give waitstaff the benefit of the doubt when they are really busy, but the restaurant was not that busy, and the waitress seemed really annoyed and bothered when we were finally able to wave her down over 25 minutes after putting in our appetizer order.
The service put a damper on an otherwise really great meal.
Loved the burger!
GREAT SERVICE, GREAT FOOD, GREAT AMBIANCE AND FANTASTIC BAR!
Food was amazing, the space was comfortable and the service was outstanding!
great food, great server....liked brunch so much we went back that night for dinner!
Excellent food, tasty cocktails and really comfortable surroundings. Bar service was top notch, table service was poor. Waiter was inattentive and food did not come out together.
We had a group with a range of ages, so finding a place that had a good diversity in the menu was important. Everyone loved the bacon jalapeno popcorn! Good service, food was good, interesting menu, would recommend.
When we came it had just snowed and we were the first to arrive for dinner - only one other table arrived before we left so it was really quiet and service was very attentive. Food was good. I can imagine the place can get really loud and energetic at a more crowded time.
Really wanted to love this place but staff missed the ball on so many levels I am at a loss for justifying a return visit.
Got there early and sat at the bar; ordered the worst Manhattan I’ve ever had in my life. Not only was it screwed up but it was then served on chipped ice further messing up the drink after I ordered it straight up. Maybe could have saved it but the bartender never came back to me. I had to chase him down. I’d give the guy a pass but the bar was dead. Maybe 10 people total sitting at it.
Once I got to the table the runner was quick with a bottle of water and glasses which was nice. But my date and I actually finished the whole bottle of water before the waitress ever came to the table. Was getting ready to leave but she apologized so we gave it a shot. The menu looked great and we told her we just wanted a bottle of wine and a few appetizers spread out and then we would order dinner. I didn’t think that would be an issue as the restaurant was dead too. A few tables here and there and two large groups but far more empty tables then seated ones.
So the wine came out & it was fine but then all three appetizers at the exact same time came out. Ok maybe the kitchen didn’t know but I was really clear to the server. So the food had tons of potential but again had poor outcomes. Oysters were served on table or kosher salt instead of rock salt. Might not sound like a big deal except that the sides of the oysters with sauce were covered in it. We each had one and passed on the others. By this time we decided to cut our losses and end it. Got the bill and tipped 20% and left
Great service and the food is always fresh and well done. I will definitely be back.
Brunch menu was imaginative and food was even better.
We tried this place for the first time and we’re a bit disappointed with the food. It was average.
Wish it was a better experience...menu is kind of all over the place, nothing was really memorable [except the fries!]. Lighting was so bright it felt like we were in a cafeteria.
We had brunch at the Angry Pig. There are a lot of options on their menu. The bacon is outstanding and the beignets are a real treat. The service is excellent.
Great friendly service and good food. The small plates were delicious. Liquor prices seem good for Chicago. Recommended.
