Folks, today we say goodbye to the Angry Egret Dinette, where waffles were so good, my son considered trading his video games for the recipe. Their house-made hot sauce had more kick than a caffeinated kangaroo, and those papa fritas were so addictive, they should come with a warning label. Here's to a place that served up laughter with every meal and made even our taste buds question reality. The Angry Egret, you'll be missed – especially by my son's sweet tooth and my spice-loving heart. Cheers to a quirky dining chapter that we won't soon forget!

It was perfection. Such a shame that it’s closing. Angry Egret will be sorely missed.

The espresso machine was out when we went. The service was lacking too. There were only a few tables inside and we had to constantly wait for water and what not. Not the best experience honestly.

Look: the food is amazing. Our party of three ordered three different things (Atwater Burrito, Second Breakfast Sandwich, and a special veggie breakfast burrito that I can't remember the name of), and they were all delicious. My only complaint food-wise was the hibiscus agua fresca, which was SO SWEET that it was straight up Kool-Aid. I really hated it. Unfortunately, they don't seem to have a real system for service. We were asked four times by 3 different people if we needed water/drinks, and then twice if we needed a starter before ordering our brunch. We were stopped so often by people trying to tell us the specials that we finally had to tell them to please give us a minute to look at the menu. Then after we did order, another person came to ask us for our order again. And after all this, guess what? OUR ORDER WASN'T PUT IN PROPERLY. One person's drinks and a second person's entree had to be totally re-ordered after we got our food. They did the right thing and comped the late dish, but it was truly an afternoon of chaos. We'll go back, because the food was so great (and we're hoping it was just a REALLY off day? Or that maybe someone didn't show up and they were over-compensating and under-performing? Or maybe someone will even get fired?). We'll just cross our fingers and hope we don't regret giving them a second chance.

Great food. Fish tacos, guacamole, tomatoes, and cubano. Service was thoughtful. Thought it would be hard to find, but it was simple. Street parking was available. Wonderful early dinner experience glad we made reservations. It was full inside and out.

Every meal I've had at Angry Egret (and at other Wes Avila spots) has been fantastic. The ingredients are fresh and delicious and the sauces bring everything to the next level. The food is always amazing and the service is too. I love eating on the patio at Angry Egret, but the indoor space is lovely as well. Fun and funky, but homey too. A great spot for a low key brunch for sure, but also an impressive place to bring guests from out of town or a date. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

Dinner experience was outstanding from the each dish, to the service, to the uncrowded patio on a summer evening. Sweet potato tacos and the tres leches cake were the biggest highlights surprises. $10 corkage for wines we brought a bargain. Will be back!

Food was spectacular! Every dish was seriously delicious. Our waitress tonight wasn’t amazing, had to ask for ice bucket for our bottle of wine ( duh) and she didn’t seem super knowledgeable… more like BSing hee way through ?’s

The food was terrible. It was shamefully bad. Dishes arrived one entree at a time with ten or more minutes between each plate. It took forever to get our food. They don't have any tea. It's not a surprise that barely anyone was there on a Saturday. Never. Again.

LOVE the AED! It's my new favorite stop before a Dodger game. The Cubano sandwich was the best I've ever tasted.
