Angry Butcher - Sam's Town Hotel & Gambling Hall Ratings and Reviews
Sister's birthday. 7 people; 4 had Prime rib nice size portions; Sister had the Ribeye steak (large); 2 had Steak au poivre. Sides were a la cart, but items were good and enough to share with others. Baked potatoes were large but were over cooked as skins were dark and hard. Only one person displeased about Prime rib being being just warm. Steak au poivre was excellent with the sauce and served with what appeared to be homemade potato chips but somewhat soft with a little chew, delicious. Dessert was a big slice of Cheesecake for the birthday girl. Service was excellent. The server was friendly, funny and interacted well with everyone.
We had a lovely meal. Everything was top-notch quality. The server was cheerful and attentive. The wine was reasonably priced, and the food perfectly prepared. The portions were generous. I liked that the menu offered so many options in side dishes. A little skillet held hot rolls and soft butter so yummy they could be a meal all by themselves.
After an agonizing delay in being seated (15 minutes past my reservation time) and an equally agonizing wait for our drink and food orders to be taken, the food and the balance of the service was good. My guess is that they were horribly understaffed which exacerbated the frustration. Our server was good, but harried. And then the dessert selection was limited due to over-booking and under-staffing. We will go back, but not on Christmas Day.
The food was delicious and the price outstanding. So much value for the price. We went for Christmas Day and had their Christmas menu. Everyone walked away completely satisfied. It was a wonderful evening. I highly recommend this dining experience. We will certainly be back.
This is our 3rd visit to Angry Butcher. We will probably not be back. Service was not good. We had to open our own wine, hot rolls were not replenished, we had to ask for water and after the meal, we had to ask for coffee. The "special birthday dessert" was practically thrown on the table with a "we ran out of candles". We were quite disappointed, as we live very close and it is a convenient restaurant for us to visit. We will continue to give our business to the Yukon Grille at Arizona Charlies. Too bad, but we did give the Angry Butcher 3 tries and poor service seems to be the main complaint.
We took my mom out for dinner there so that she could see the Christmas decorations in the atrium. The menu choices were very good. Nice variety. Not too many and not too few. Nice variety of wine by the glass as well since I was the only one ordering wine it did not make sense to order a bottle. Service was excellent. Everyone was very pleasant and attentive. Definitely would go back.
Sat at a table near the front of the restaurant. During the automated display out front it was hard to have a conversation for the 5-10 mins it was a little loud. Food was good, I had the prime rib and my wife had the Salmon. Baked potato was huge. Had a side order of mushrooms that were not good and didn't eat.
Totally a true five stars for all the staff. The meal was amazing. This was the best choice to take my wife of 38 years to on our special nite. All the staff wished us happy anniversary and even treated us to a special desert. We will be back again. Once again well done. Jeff from Phoenix az
Food was very good as was the service. The waiter even included a HUGE slice of cake for our anniversary. However, I am of normal weight and height, and I was seated at the center position in a booth with a non-moveable table. I was literally pinned between the rear of the seat and table. I could not even use the napkin on my lap and had to place it next to me. The table was touching my body. Very weird. Also, I was well aware that this was an ala carte restaurant and had chosen what I wanted to eat before we arrived. But after visiting, I have decided that I do not want to eat at this kind of restaurant in the future. A steak should include a salad, a potato and a vegetable. None of this costs much and to exclude it/make me pay extra is just not right. I would be happy to pay "a bit" more and just include the "sides". Not the fault of this restaurant, but it made me realize that I really don't care for this business model any more.
Amazing, we went before going to the lounge to see a favorite entertainer although we had been there before. The waiter Maverick, was incredible. The food, to die for. The house salad was spinach with the french dressing, one of the best I have ever had. The waiter allowed us to split a 10 oz steak and it was sooooo good. Desert left a little to be desired. But the waterfall show on the hour was beautiful. We had a great time.
This is a gem of a fine dining restaurant!!....they have indoor and outdoor seating...the 'outdoor' seating is out by the Mystic Fall Park.....beautiful twinkling lights, sound of the waterfalls, birds, etc....perfect romantic atmosphere. We took advantage of the $18.99 Prime Rib Special, which included bread, salad, prime rib cooked to order, choice of potato and vegetable......are you kidding me??? For this kind of atmosphere and service, we were pinching ourselves!!! Though what we ordered was the $18.99 specials, we were treated as if we had ordered the most expensive thing on the menu....first class service!! We will definitely be returning.....awesome!!!
