Angliss Restaurant is the Institute's flagship venue and the home of the Great Chefs program. The Angliss Restaurant provides a professional-standard training environment for our students and an affordable dining experience for guests. The food style offered at Angliss is a fusion of contemporary and classical influences. Guests will enjoy culinary delights from final year apprentice chefs and cookery students and impeccable fine dining service provided by hospitality students.

Lavish three course buffet lunches and dinners are also available throughout the year. These offer excellent value, with choices including soup, salads, hot dishes, roast carvery and a selection of desserts.

    Superb. Chicken terrine, lamb and chocolate flan were juuuuust fantastic. Top class. Service was fine-friendly and attentive servers. An encouraging supervisor who corrected a couple of things. Main course a bit slow in coming. Very aware everyone who works there is a trainee and I don't expect everything to run super smoothly. Ambience is a bit sterile-dont know if anything could be done to make it more appealing? The experience overall was wonderful, in particular the food and I would highly recommend it!!! The four of us who dined had a woooonderful evening. If you could stock decaf coffee beans, that would be great!

    Overall GOOD! But, the soup and main course for my meal were warm at best. The food quality was good, but let down by the temperature. My wife had no complaints with her meal. Service was good, with one "incident" where my bread roll escaped from the tongs as it was being delivered from the basket to my plate and went flying across the table - an accident obviously but.... Probably our biggest annoyance was being continually addressed as "Guys". As members of an older generation we all recognize "Guys" as being masculine gender, and therefore not appropriate for mixed company, and is in my opinion too casual for a restaurant setting. Maybe "Folks" would be better, and I would have been happy with Ladies & Gentlemen - but definitely not happy with "Guys".

    This place has top quality food for moderate prices, as the staff are students. We didn't find it to be busy or slow or have poor service, which we were willing to tolerate from students. Well done!

    Overall fantastic. The food needs a bit of tweaking but understand it’s done by students and they are learning. Will definitely be going back and suggesting others, to support the students in their journey.

    Exactly what we hoped for. Catering School decor. A couple of delightfully nervous staff. Food that had ambition. You got there most definitely on the steamed snapper. Wonderful sauce on that one. Yes, we'll be back. We're planning on doing one dinner each term.

    Very impressed. We were visiting from New Zealand and took two guests who reside in Melbourne but had no idea the Angliss existed. One of the better meals we had over a months touring

    Another great experience with this restaurant. Christmas touch with bon bon and a Christmas tree on each table was very unique and warm. Christmas menu was fabulous and tasty.

    The whole experience was great value for money. Food was really well done and service great. The tables were nicely spaced so you weren't sitting on top of other people. You could have a private conversation and not overhear other peoples conversations.

    A social group outing. Good value. Food were good considering that they were cooked by students. Would have like to have a Christmas theme since it is near Christmas time. Maybe next year .

    We ordered the spicy beef dumplings and pea-ham soup. Pea -ham soup was lovely and we like the ham that goes with it. Beef dumplings were ok, the chilli is like mala and a bit too spicy even for us with Asian buds. We order beef for main course and they were done right, as requested. Apple tart dessert was the best followed by mango parfait.

    A very pleasant dinner. My smoked chicken entree was a knockout. My main porterhouse was good but arrived with no fat. The flavour comes from the fat. It was cooked more medium than the medium rare I ordered. It was good value for $19. The mango-based dessert was well presented but had an odd flavour. Had the mango been stored near the seafood? Overall it was great value. Service was very attentive although the staff had to be prompted to serve a bread roll. Water, though, was refilled often.

    The presentation of the food was professional. You would not think this was made by students. The menu only consisted of 1 vegetarian meal for main, there was no vegetarian option for entree. The kitchen did accommodate and made a mushroom soup. The desserts where amazing. Their bread rolls were fresh and soft. The service could have been better but l understand that the staff are students. They appeared to lack an understanding of the food and beverages. They need to have confidence, be welcoming and friendly. Possibly relax a little. There was one incident where the waiter bluntly refused to wait for one guest to return from the bathroom to take her dessert order as the kitchen was closing. This guest missed out on a dessert. The set up was beautiful and clean. I would go back again as the venue was excellent value for money and we had great fun.

    the waitress are good in smiling and servicing. Also, they have good caring of food served and new order. Table setting is good . However, the confidence of speech can be stronger and give me more sure what they do right the way.

    Enjoyed the experience, excellent service, food was very good, steak a bit chewy but overall food was very good. Drinks were cold which is good and served well, we came down from Geelong and it was worth the trip, our daughter, Hayley Guy, an past William Angliss student gives talks at William Angliss

    The food was excellent, very tasty and plenty of it, well done. The service was not great, but they are only students, so I did not expect anything else. Great value for money and again the food was delicious.

    Great food with personalised services. The student waiter for our table was polite, attentive and friendly. He overheard our visit was for my birthday, later I got a cute and personal happy birthday message written in the chocolate sauce, very touched. All the best to all students that night, we really enjoyed the food and hospitality.

    Would thoroughly recommend -light and airy, good distance from other tables, hear friends' conversations - really nice student gave good service and was helped by great staff when she needed advice - food lovely and well presented, with exception of a dessert pie which was so. great value

    The deserts were underwhelming but the mains were very good although my onion baji was under-cooked-batter was still doughy and wet and onion was extremely pungent-not cooked at all.
