They are not accommodating to food restrictions, and their menu does not give a heads up on that. I looked at the menu before making a reservation and thought I would be able to eat most of their plates. I’m celiac and have a peanut allergy. When the waiter came back I could only eat 3 items on the menu.

Absolutely amazing! Truly one of the finest dining experiences we've had. We've been in LA a little over 10 years and have had the privilege at eating at some of the best spots; Providence, N/naka, Crustacean, to name a few. Angler is right up there, the food and service was to die for. Our favorites were the hot fried collar, the scallop and of course the sunday! Don't forget to try their fun cocktails, and their somme will help you navigate their very deep wine list. Truly an amazing dinner, we can't wait to go back!!!

We Love, Love, LOVE this restaurant. We chose Angler to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed. We shared everything we ordered and everything was delicious and a perfect proportion. Tuna tartar, Brussels Sprouts, Cod, Vermillion, Seaweed fried rice, Steak. Perfect for 3 of us. The restaurant surprised us with a champagne starter and a yummy Ice cream sundae for dessert. Our server, Brianna was friendly, attentive and informative. We were well taken care of at all times. We highly recommend Angler and we look forward to going back real soon.

Another great night at angler! I just love how quick the servers and everyone come greet you and bring water. Never have to look around to find your server!!! Tonight we tried their Murray Cod, Caesar, Hot fried Collar and of course the cheesy bread! We started with their amazing cocktails and then jumped into wine. Cant forget the sundae at the end. Such an amazing dinner!!!

What they did to the fish, especially the swordfish, is a crime. All the ingredients drowned in spices (collar) and oil (cod)… or in the swordfish’s case, achieved the impossible of destroying the texture and integrity of one of the meatiest fish into mush. Begs the question of whether they are hiding the fact that the ingredients aren’t fresh or their inability to handle seafood.

Very loud music, like dining in a club. Went there for fish and found it very disappointing: swordfish more pineapple slices than fish, scallop was ok and whole fish sea Bream was terrible. It was over cooked, fishy tasting, hard not delicate. They offered free dessert when we commented on our food which was kind. Truly missed the mark as a fish restaurant. Service was slow. Brought the rice after we were more than half done w our meal. Getting the check took way too long. Will not be returning.

The stars of our meal - cocktails including the zero proof options and the sundae! Otherwise, the food is not very good. The capon wing stands out as something that should not be on a restaurant menu. The meat is chewy, the skin isn't crispy and the stuffing is nondescript. We wondered how this dish ended up on a menu that is not very long at all. If you're still thinking of going, in addition to the sundae, I'd recommend the bluefish tuna and the hot collar.

My first visit at Angler. I was expecting more delicate flavors in our food order, but everything tasted just okay, considering the review and hype of the restaurant. The cocktail, ‘catch and release’ was served in a cute blowfish bowl, which was a bit exciting. The Vermillion was refreshing cold appetizer but the BBQ Radish had a too strong seasoning, overpowering the radish. Same for the Embered Oysters. The toasted chili butter and lemon sauce should be sprinkled on too, not entirely covered the oysters. In general, quite disappointing.

My first time back since hey updated the design of the interior and refreshed the menu. Angler was our favorite restaurant in 2019 and the food, service and overall experience is just as good if not better. A little more casual, food is just as serious as before, but more shareable and the vibe is a little more casual. Beautiful open kitchen and the space seems brighter, more lively and open. Looking forward to going back and the pricing for this quality is one of the best in LA...so easy to go back for multiple visits. Looking forward to next time and very soon!

The menu looks really inventive and I appreciate what they’re trying to do, but it didn’t work for me personally. Thought the seaweed rice was a touch too sweet and overpowered the saltiness of the trout roe; the sauce on the scallops had a slight bitter off-note, the crust on the fish collar too thick and gooey. Again, possible just not to my palate’s taste. I do think the ambience is fantastic and service was great. One last thing - there was automatic 20% service charge tacked on, which I kind of hate because I never know what that means in terms of gratuity. Restaurants - please be transparent about where the service charge goes and maybe recommend a tip for the servers. I don’t want to pay an extra 45% for my meals but I also don’t want to cheat the waitstaff

I had a wonderful dinner at Angler for my birthday last night. One of their employees reached out to ask about birthday persons name, and managed to greet me with happy birthday card signed by all the staffs. Food and drinks were both creative and unique, dishes were well balanced and with a bit of Asian and Mexican influence. Also their menu is fairly smaller which is always a good sign!

Excellent food but service needs work. Waiter was uninformed about menu (after taking 20 min to go to table). Very long wait for water and first courses. Two different bottles of wine ordered and again after waiting not on list. Parts of order never arrived. Manager did his best to make amends but clearly a training issue. Food is uniformly delicious and creative. Fairly priced for a fine dining place but overall experience was sloppy. Very hard to consider coming back

We LOVED Angler before their “refresh/remodel” and have to say that our experience and meal were very disappointing. It started at the entrance. We walked in from the valet to find no one welcoming us. And there was no host or hostess checking anyone in, actually, there was only a dirty waiters station. We never did see the check-in area as we spotted our friends and just went to sit down. We caught up but after a while we had to wave a server down to order a drink. The wait staff seemed overly burdened and frantic. The waiter was not familiar with the cocktails so we just picked a few that sounded good, and they were. After that, a server came to tell us that ours was busy so he would start the order. We asked what he might recommend of the dishes and the amount of food appropriate for the four of us. He said to just look over the menu more and he’d be right back. He never came back. The floor manager came to the table to take our order. When we asked again how many dishes to order, he gave us more detail than our disappearing server but he seemed impatient and as soon as we ordered he ran off. We never really figured out who our actual server was. The floor manager kept asking us over and over again if we were ok. He had a stressed look which made his visits the least bit pleasurable. Comparing the service of the current rendition of Angler to the past is almost impossible. The previous service was amazing, attentive, pleasurable, informative and professional. Our experience last night was not any of those things. Unfortunately, the food followed suit. There was not one dish that we found delicious and most were unremarkable. The BBQ Radishes had a gelatinous sauce which gave a very unappealing mouth feel. The radishes themselves were hard and flavorless. The Bluefin Tuna had promise but was served with a very oily bread that did not add anything to the dish and actually dulled down the flavor of the tuna. The Ssam Pork was also under-seasoned.

As a food blogger, I recently visited Angler Los Angeles and was impressed by the quality of their cuisine. While the restaurant's location may be perceived as being within a mall, the dishes served here are far from typical mall fare. In fact, the flavors and presentation of each dish are truly underrated and worthy of praise. Angler Los Angeles specializes in seafood, with an emphasis on locally sourced and sustainable ingredients. The menu features a variety of seafood dishes, such as the Dungeness crab and the grilled octopus, which are both cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The restaurant also offers a selection of meat dishes, including the wagyu beef and the lamb loin, which are equally impressive. Despite the location being in a mall, the ambiance of Angler Los Angeles is anything but ordinary. The restaurant is beautifully designed, with elegant decor and a relaxed atmosphere that perfectly complements the exceptional cuisine. The service is attentive and knowledgeable, with staff members who are happy to make recommendations and ensure a delightful dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend Angler Los Angeles for anyone seeking an exceptional seafood and meat dining experience. The quality of the dishes and the ambiance of the restaurant are sure to impress even the most discerning of diners.
