Great place for early dinner
Excellent food. Pizza and pasta. We had a delay on a entree, but still would definitely go back!
It simply wasn't great. Service was poor and a hefty tip was built in that we had no choice in. I would never have left that much of a tip. The only good thing was it's close proximity to the theater otherwise I would never go again. The pizza was ok.
My husband and I visited Angelo's during our trip to New York, for our first wedding anniversary. (We are from Boston). We were recommended to this restaurant by my parents, who frequently choose Angelo's during their visits to the city, especially after seeing a show. The food came out quickly and it was much better than I could have imagined. We shared the white pizza and the pollo piccata. My husband cannot stop talking about the piccata. It really was phenomenal. The pizza was hot, fresh, and perfectly cooked. My only complaint was service was slow to take our order, but as will many restaurants in the city (especially non-chains), you could tell they worked with little staff. Service was very quick to prebus our table, from item's we were no longer using. Having worked in restaurants in the past, we both appreciates this. We will definitely be back!
Food and service were both great.
Excellentes pizzas et pâtes...une sauce tomate à tomber...
Good pizza, tiramisu was fabulous
This was very best pizza!
Gem for excellent pizza or Italian comfort food in theater district. Fast and professional service.
They have great pizza and seem ok letting that carry the day. Our waitress was lovely but we had to ask for items 3-4x and she blamed the kitchen. Finally she went down and got what we asked for (olives).
Delicious Pizza! Perfect for a large group. Close to the Theater - but not too touristy!! LOVE!
Fun time! The pizza and pasta our group had were all delicious. They were able to accommodate our group of 5 on a Friday night and the service was outstanding.
Always great prior to a Broadway show!!! The food and pizza is excellent!
Pizza was great! Had a pasta dish also that was very good and they offer gluten free options,
First time at this location. We thought it was much better than the 57th street site and with a far more varied menu. Chicken marsala hot and tasty, same for the pizza with black olives. Attentive service, spacious upstairs seating and comfy seats. Closer to theater district as well.
Tourist trap. Over priced. Lousy Italian food. Don't waste your money.
Perfect restaurant after a Broadway Musical.
Chicken Piccata was delicious! We sat upstairs, so the room was a little warm, because of the pizza oven. Overall, we had good service and a tasty meal!
Great food at reasonable prices! I was in NY for business and we came across Angelo’s while walking to Central Park! We will definitely go back on our next visit!
You could share one plate of pasta between two people.
Wine is a little pricey @ $14.00 a glass. Yikes!
Angelou's had good pizza, but sub-par service and atmosphere. The server even took our last slice to throw away? Rather than see if we wanted it or an offer to box it up. 🙄 Super wasteful. Overall food though and the location was very convenient.
Bueno, la pizza es una delicia y vale la pena ir como experiencia en NY.
Oh the Margarita pizza was amazing and so were the zucchini and eggplant appetizer!! Sooooooo good!
Great pizza! Went there for a quick bite before a Broadway show and it was perfect. Fast service and good food. Good for a large party
Right on Broadway. Quick to seat us. Excellent service. Delish pizza and soups.
Horrible service, we were pretty much ignored the entire time we were there. Our waiter never checked on us throughout our entire meal, we would have order another drink and asked for some water. We had to ask another waiter for our bill so we could pay and it wasn’t until after we paid and were getting ready to leave until our wait came to check on us to see if we needed anything else. Too late! Won’t be eating here again!
Great food and service!
Margarita pizza was ok but white pizza was just bad. Ricotta layered on like cake icing and tasteless
We were seated upstairs which was about half full. We ordered pasta dishes. My husbands arrived piping hot but my lasagne was stone cold. The cheese sauce had solidified and it obviously had not been ‘reheated’ or even cooked fresh. We mentioned this to our server who just said... it’s cold? And took it away. The same portion arrived back 5 minutes later. The dish was still stone cold and the edges of the lasagne were luke warm at best. Peeling backs the layers the lasagne was sill stone cold inside. I could not eat it. Our server returned and I said it was still cold and I couldn’t eat it, what could they recommend. They did not offer an alternative and took the dish away. My husband’s pasta while hot was an average pasta dish. For $70 for a glass of wine, a beer and 2 pasta dishes, 1 not edible, I would advise that pasta is not Angelo’s strong point and it is over priced, average pasta (if it’s edible) at the best. Don’t bother.
We had two pasta dishes and they where tasteless and Calamari was over cooked. I hear the pizza is pretty good.
It was okay. We were sat near the door and the stairs. By far the worst seats in the house. Table was super tiny. Just my 9 year old and myself and our pizza took up the whole table, pasta was under the pizza. It was convenient to the show we were seeing, and the price was fine. But I am unlikely to return, even when I see another show almost next door. Food was just okay, not terrible not great.
Our server was the best!
The food was delicious and the service was great . My friend recommended this place to me and I would recommend to all my friends and family
Great location when you're going to the theatre in the West 50s. Service was S-L-O-W with most of the attention focused on upstairs seating so allow yourself plenty of time if you have a curtain to make. Food, however, was very good (seafood pasta and chicken parmigiana).
Great pizza but pricey
Thin brick oven crust
Had the Caprese salad which was a nice portion
We went later in the evening so it was fairly empty
Coal oven pizza, burnt on outside crust and under cooked dough. Also, the cheese was not completely melted. Although, very generous on veggie toppings. Overall, not a fan of coal oven pizza.
Dinner before a show. Table ready when we walked in.
Big portions! Regret not being able to take our leftovers bc of heading to the theater.
Pizza was burnt underneath and under cooked
eggplant Parmesan was burnt to a crisp
We told the waiter that the eggplant Parmesan was no good he didn’t bother replacing it or crediting the bill. He said he would let the chef know he never came back with an update
Food is great. Really nice pizza. Service however was terrible. Our server Tati forgot to put orders through and after waiting half an hour we got the response” oh I forgot to put the order through... do you want it?”
After the shocking service we did not want to pay the 6 person gratituity but rather for 5 people. We got the response” oh you want to play that game” such a shame for such nice good.
I booked this restaurant for NYE dinner with family and friends. I received a confirmation email on the day I booked ( one month prior ) and the day prior to my booking. When we arrived it was closed. The police said they take reservations every NYE and are always closed. We ( 6 adults and 12 kids ) were left standing in the pouring rain with no where to go. Extremely disappointing.
