It was somewhat unusual, we were told upon arriving that they were short staffed and if we wanted pizza it will be an even longer wait, no estimate as to how long. It felt as if they wanted for us to go away. They were plenty empty tables inside. After a few minutes we were seated inside. The manager/ owner took care of us the rest of the night. Fabio was very friendly and accommodating. But the food did indeed take about an hour to be served.
Stick with the lobster bisque which is really good. The octopus was over cooked and pasta was cold. Not my first choice when dinning out
Worse place ... service was terrible ! No pizza ? Really ... at a pizzeria ... salmon was charred... did I tell you the service sucked ? WAiter was the worse ....
Your review is doomed from the start when a guest orders a glass of Sonoma Cutrer and the lazy bartender sends the server with half of a pour and after the guest points out the very obvious lack of wine in the glass he insists it’s a full pour. I explained I would be needing a second pretty quickly in this case and we would see if this was the case and of course the second glass looked right. He offered no explanation or apology and simply walked away. We guessed he didn’t understand English very well. This irritated me the entire meal of course so I asked for management and to his credit he took the wine off of the bill. More importantly, the food was sub par for Angelos. The location in East Fort Lauderdale is amazing consistently. Also, we wanted to order Tapas style but they were out of 3 appetizers and 2 of the ones we wanted.
Very poor service. It felt like we were being ignored. It Took forever to get our drinks and three out of four were wrong. They also totally forgot one entree. The waiter did not even apologize. It is very possible he did not speak English. We finally asked to speak to the manager. She was nice and tried to make things right, even though it was too late. She did bring two desserts and did not charge us for the missing entree which was finally served. The food was Okay but nothing special.
They charge you for everything - hidden fees. They ask if you would like the dish with tomato, but don’t explain that it’s an additional $4. Happened with many dishes my family ordered.
It was over priced and the service was terrible. The restaurant wasn’t even full!
What a great restaurant! The waiters were very attentive and the food was marvelous! Would definitely go again.
Even when it was a rainy day, there was chance to enjoy patio as well as indoors. Food and service were good. Very good timing to deliver orders
$14 for a chopped salad with tiny bits of tomato and ham and then add $10 for a protein. $24 for a salad? We can get a yummy wedge salad elsewhere in City Place for $6.99 that feeds two adults. The kids had spaghetti in a white sauce that they normally like but left it. The churrasco like steak was overdone when asked for medium and super salty. The minestrone felt like it came from a can. Overall really crappy food and expensive. Will not be coming back.
Food was excellent, incredible flavors, delicious. Service was a little unorganized but great anyways.
The food is great, i have come to this place many times just for the food. The service is a different thing, first of all waiting for a table. We arrived and there were many tables available inside and outside, but we were told the waiting time was 30-45mins that we could wait at the bar. We went to the bar and few people that were around us waiting for a table decided to leave since there are other restaurants to go to, we waited and 40 mins later we were taken to our table. The waiter came, no introduction, took order did not write anything down and messed up the drinks. Then did not come back, i believe the manager came to ask how everything was and thats when were able to order our second round of drinks. I come back simply for the food, the service usually leaves a lot to ask for.
Worst Italian food ever ..we order some tapas and it takes like 30 minutes, and when it came it was horrible, the cheese was hard and the chorizo was the poor quality I’d ever try
Outstanding service from Gisela! The Zacapa rum n coke was most excellent. Happy hour prices were great. Enjoyed the Caprese, Arancini, and Veal Meatballs. Two appetizers would have been enough for a meal. I had to try the Tiramisu! Delish. Highly recommend.
Ridiculous . I had a reservation at 11 am. Arrived there and they told me they would open at 12
Open table mistake ?
Or restaurant ?
Great. Everything was really good
Our server Silva,F. was horrible. First off, she was asked to please add more Parmesano Reggiano cheese and her reply was, “ do you want more, because my arm is going to fall off from grating your cheese” I believe as customers, it should be no problem in making our visit pleasant and memorable no matter how much you cheese you have to serve. That’s what her priority should be. I’m sure there isn’t a shortage of cheese at the restaurant or there is a limit to how much a server has to serve or how much a paying customer should have. Secondly, she also displayed an annoyed gesture when asked for more napkins because some our our drink had spilled onto the table.
Finally we had to ask her to please bring glasses of water to our table because we were thirsty from our meals. A good server would automatically know that the guests need water without the need for asking. To top that off, she only brought 3 glasses of water to our table and she asked if I wanted one as well.
I am never going back to this location and make it a point to all of our fiends and family how bad our experience was and not to sit with the server Silva, F. She needs a lot of training in people skills and server etiquette.
I have been to other Angelo Elia locations all have been great.
The food was very good but the service wasn’t as smooth and fluid as we expected. That said, it was a nice dining experience and we will likely return.
If we are in the mood for pizza, we would probably visit again. The pizza was good. The Porchetta was ok, nothing to brag about and it arrived alone with nothing else. The restaurant was not particularly busy, but our Caprese did not arrive as our appetizer, we had to ask our waiter for it and it came in the middle of dinner. I also think it was a bit over priced; perhaps because it is in City Place.... I was disappointed..........
The price was overrated for the quality of the food. Our server was nice, but service was slow and my boyfriend did not enjoy his pizza; it was too dry. I asked for a vanilla gelato and after waiting for it for 15 minutes, they told me they did not have more vanilla gelato (ice cream)...
Food was great, but food came out of the kitchen at different times. Had to take lasagna home because everybody had finished eating when it arrived.
This restaurant does not measure up to the other Angelo Elia locations. Food was good but ambiance was uncomfortable - air conditioning not cool enough and staff seemed confused and unprepared.
Also, restaurant reported my reservation as a no show.
All around great, as usual.
Great to have the Caymus Cabarnet at half price on Mondays.
Food was good, but service was lacking. After having ordered a bottle of white wine, waiter didn't bring bucket to keep remaining wine chilled. When pizza came out, server didn't offer us new plates to replace the ones from our appetizers. Little details like these would go a long way to getting repeat customers.
As a regular customer at the Angelo Elia in Weston, I was disappointed that this new restaurant in Doral was not of the calibre I expected. Most of the food we ordered was very good, but one of the dishes was greasy. Cocktails and wine were very good. Ambiance was lacking, I was expecting a more intimate setting (as in Weston). Service was sketchy. We ordered wine to sip with dinner but it arrived when we had already finished eating. I would still recommend the restaurant if you like a casual, open setting.
Food was great. Service was adequate and expected given restaurant recently opened.
My husband and I enjoyed our experience at Angelo Elia's so much.
The food was great and the staff was amazing!!! The GM-Mike Baker and the manger Marcella were so friendly and welcoming.
We will definitely be back, and welcome to Doral
Our service was spectacular! The food was terrific. We highly recommended this for date night or family night. The prices are well in line for the area, and the wine selection is tremendous. We will be back!! Thank you Stefan for your wonderful service!
Having dined recently the food and service by Rebecca and the management staff were excellent. Angelo Elia in Doral as in their other restaurants remain an excellent casual dining location.
This is a new restaurant, the staff and mgmt is very friendly and helpful. they still have a few kinks to work out, a few items on the menu they were out of and half of the beer menu was not avaiable or they were of out. They have no draft beer at all and the Peroni which was not listed on the menu came to us a bit warm. The waiter was nice enough to put a few on ice for us. Overall the food was good not great and we had a good time.
Well...the experience itself was not pleasant. We were waiting for about a half hour before the menus were brought out. The waiter didn't bother to bring any water to the table. We decided to leave because after a half hour wait, the waiter comes over and when we tell him he took to long, his response was "you said you needed a minute." A minute does not mean 30 minutes. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone...
