Some of the best Italian food in L.A. full stop.
one of the most special restaurants in LA, always a winner!
Every dish was amazing, from antipasti to dessert and espresso! Loved the lasagna verde and duck ragu especially.
Best service and good in all of Los Angeles.
As always food was excellent. That's how you stay in business for 20 years. The menu is creative, diverse and full of surprises. Recently the menu included sweetbreads and quail. I took my Uncle from Rome there this past week and he loved it. And he is a fussy Italian. LOL.
Excellent food, excellent wine, friendly, attentive service. The mains were a little slow to arrive, but worth the wait. Pasta dishes are superb. Not inexpensive.
LASAGNA VERDE SPINACH BEST IN LA
the agnolotti 6 star
Tagliatelle, Duck Ragout 5 star, authentically Italian, fresh and tasty.
It was great all around food, staff and ambiance.
Still my favorite restaurant. Very popular - every table full but still marvelous service. Felt like we were in Italy. We were there for our wedding anniversary and they seem to have figured that out on their own. Lobster salad with pomegranate was our favorite of several great dishes.
Always nothing short of excellent!!!! Great wine list too.
Always the best.
Food was great, service likewise. A bit cramped but I guess that's part of the experience.
I have dined at some of the best restaurants in the world. I am totally fine with high prices as long as the food provides an exceptional dining experience. In this case, the prices were at the top end of Italian restaurants and the food, alas was at the middle or bottom. Each preparation was ordinary to poor. I ordered a veal Milanese for $52 which was tough and tasteless with commercial arugula and cherry tomatoes on top. I enjoy this dish with onions so they brought a side that was limp and I guess marinated and again, tasteless. My guests had pasta which was also a poor/ordinary preparation. We walked out with a $400 bill for three which if a great meal, would have been fine. The capper was in looking at the bill I found the charge for the small pile of tasteless onions was $10. This place was recommended by a film producer as one of LA's greats...you can get a better meal at half the price at Jon and Vinny's in the same neighborhood. Rip off IMHO
This place is pure magic, the food, service, and ambiance are an expression of love.
One of my favorite places on Earth, exceptional in every way.
First time at Angelini Osteria, for years we had heard great things about it and was eager to try it.
My food was very good, excellent sautéed vegetables, pasta Norma, and salmon. Other diners at the table
enjoyed their meals. The environment is homey and relaxed. The service could be better, our waiter seemed detached. I would recommend it to friends, but with lowered expectations.
Charming service and consistent food are the highlights at this neighborhood gem. They have been >10 minutes late to seat my reservation in 3 of 4 visits. A vast and balanced menu, there's lot to like in this tight space.
THE best Italian restaurant in Los Angeles bar none.
Romantic and delicious.
From the food to the service to the atmosphere, I don't have a single bad thing to say about this place.
Delicious Italian food. We had the bone marrow, beef carpaccio, tagliatelle with duck ragout, and the affogato. All of it was top notch. The service was great - we got their delicious complimentary crisp bread and pasta salad as soon as we sat down and our glasses were always filled. Can't wait to come back.
Coming from Misano Adriatico, Italy, which is next door from Mr. Angelini’s hometown, we had nothing but great expectations, which were successfully fulfilled. Definitely a place to go.
Authentic Italian. Food is great. It is a loud restaurant. Not an ideal spot for a business discussion, but great for a lively lunch or dinner.
We were lucky to get a late reservation on the Sunday before Labor Day and boy was I happy we did. Everything from our greeting by the hostess to the professionalism and shark from our server was perfection. We ordered several different dishes and all were excellent. I will definitely be back soon.
Unfortunately, this place is good not great. Plates lack seasoning and are expensive given the portion size you get. Seating is very tight, you're packed in like sardines. Desserts are just ok.. wine was delicious.
There’s not enough time or words in the dictionary to describe my love for this restaurant. My boyfriend is Italian and he swears it is the only real Italian food in la. I’m also vegetarian and we come here almost every week and they accommodate me tremendously. I would literally eat here every meal for the rest of my life if I could. The staff are excellent, the service is impeccable, the food is outrageously delicious and I basically want to move in.
Excellent meal at Angelini Osteria. The only thing we're disappointed by is that we didn't go here sooner! It was on the list for awhile, and we finally went this past weekend. The food was incredible, and so was the wine selection. Excellent place for a special night out like a birthday or anniversary. Highly recommended.
I wasnt thrilled with the food although the ambience and service was good. Maybe I just ordered the wrong things. The beet salad had a very earthy taste.
The food was good. But the service was not what we are use to and expected better. overall it was okay. There wasn’t anything super special between the food and service that will get us back again.
Small restaurant with lovely outdoor seating on the sidewalk. Great authentic Italian food and ingredients.
We have been going to Angelini Osteria religiously as a family for a few years now. The food is delicious, delicate, fresh, and portions are just enough. I think this is the best Italian restaurant in town. Thank you!
I am glad we sat outside. Attached is a photo by Lakshmi Iyengar
I have no complaints about the service. The waiters were very attentive and explained everything on the menu. My husband was very pleased with his appetizer and entree. I unfortunately did not care for either my salad or main dish. Salad was bland and lasagna just tasted like regular lasagna although it was described in a very unique manner on the menu and I was told it was a specialty of the house.. Both desserts, panna cotta and semifreddo, were very good. if I had ordered something different that I really liked then my experience would be different but I happen to order two dishes that I thought were not very good at all. it was very noisy inside so I'm glad we had a table outside which was very pleasant during the warm-weather.
Incredible food! Fresh!
I had read about this restaurant for some time and reviews were always encouraging. I just had not visited LA for a couple of years but this was my first reservation (with my Dodgers tickets). This is the real deal, an abundance of atmosphere assisted by charming energetic staff, but the food is the real thrill. My wife and I sat at a curved bar looking into the kitchen which is never dull. Sample tasting dishes were served and were delicate, the double pork chop was monumental and the swordfish was delightful. All the sides were perfect and as soon as the next trip is booked so is Angelini Osteria.
I used to tell my friends that this was the best Italian restaurant in Los Angeles. Because I felt that earlier this week I had a business dinner for six of us and booked an early table. The food was excellent, but the service was absolutely terrible. First the waiter was abrupt and not at all helpful with the wine list. Not rude, but clearly not helpful or friendly. Continually gave us the impression that he was rushed and so rushed us. After ordering the bus boys came by with our dinners and had to shout out each dish to ask who ordered what. Hardly the service or grace you would expect from one of the better restaurants. It will be a long time before I tout it to business friends as one of the best in L.A.
Fantastic food.. I just didn't think the portion size and price matched up fairly..
Truffle pasta was amazing!!!!!
Food and service always top shelf.
Always a hit in my book, and one of the best chefs in LA. Anytime I go, it is always a delicious meal and service is great!
