What Insiders Are Saying
Angelini Osteria is one of the great Italian restaurants of Los Angeles.
Fabulous food. Great, attentive waiters. We sat outside. It was a perfect day for outside dining. Every dish was delicious. Bread served before food arrival is equally delicious. A little pricey for everyday dining for me but perfect for special occasion.
Service was extremely slow , but food was wonderful
Fantastic Meal all around!! Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!
A really cute place for dinner. The positives: Food was excellent. We had the roasted bone marrow for appetizer which was absolutely delicious. For entrees we had the scallops with mushrooms (perfectly cooked), and Sea Urchin Linguine which was delicious but had the smallest piece of uni ever for the price you are paying... The desserts were the best and they were to die for, best tiramisu I've ever had and the panna cotta was outstanding. On the negative side, service could have been better. For the quality/price of this restaurant, the servers were polite, but not very engaging. There was much to be desired and we had to often ask for refills for water. Overall, great quality of food, not so great service. It's probably a place I'd come back in a year or two given that there are so many restaurants around the area to explore and I wasn't fully satisfied with the experience here.
Delicious food, unique choices, but extremely packed/noisy, etc.. One has to strain to have a conversation if there are more than three or four people! Hadn't been there in years, but quality still there.
As always, Angelini’s never disappoints. Food is fresh, well prepared and always a treat and the wines lovely. Some of our repeat favorites are the figs with Gorgonzola and balsamic reduction, the lobster salad and the pasta with summer truffles and Italian sausage. We love to share and eat in courses so we get to taste more selections. All the desserts are great as well. My daughter and I had the carrot cake with Nutella, which was yummy and the Torta de Nonni is another favorite. We both live near the beach and love NYC for its many great Italian restaurants...so Angelini’s, along with a couple of others in the area, is always worth the drive and can always compare favorably with our NYC favorites.
It’s not cheap, but worth the prices if you love food and the lively ambiance created by the charming Italian staff.
If i could give a ZERO stars, i would. This place definitely deserves that for their lack of customer service. In the span of 30mins while dining in, we were served by 4 different waiters. For a place with great reviews l on Trip Advisor and yelp, I would expect their food to be impeccable; but that was not the case. There was a couple that sat within our proximity that was getting a better service than us just because they spoke Italian. Never have I felt belittled by an establishment in my entire life like i did at Angelini’s. Asked for the manager before departing and was able to speak to a gentleman named Gino. Informed and notified him of the mishaps, which he initially wanted to counter by asking questions like why i felt that way? I then took 10 mins extra just to explain their mistreatment in detail which he then apologized for and promised to take care of. From the food to customer service and even ambiance, not the kind of place i would recommend to dine.
I have been dining at Angelini Osteria for several years. It is crowded. But, I love the food. I like the frantic scene...good vibes.
Best restaurant I’ve been to in LA by far.....I will go back many more times!
The food was excellent as was the service. It is noisy but consistent with being an Italian bistro. And we were easily able to talk to each other. I recommend asking for indoor seating, particularly if you are a visitor to the area. At first we were seated on the sidewalk, which was not pleasant. We were rescued by a kind waiter who overruled the hostess, who was not at all helpful. This is a classic Italian restaurant but also creative. That’s pretty darn good.
We used to eat at Angelini a lot in the past. We tried the restaurant again recently and were unimpressed. The food and service were both lackluster. With the exception of the veal agnolotti, which was excellent, everything we ordered tasted ordinary. The prices are high for food of this quality. With so many better Italian options in LA I can't see us dining here again soon.
This restaurant is way too expensive and the portion are really small.
Food was underwhelming—not very flavorful. We tried the braised artichokes, fish stew, veal, and a special pasta that was on the menu for the day. Everything was a-okay but not amazing enough to go back.
Amazing Chianti Not a lot to chose from but what's there is great. Awesome pasta. Small place which is actually perfect for a couple or two to have a nice long meal to together.
The quality of the products used is really exceptional! The portions are generous without being to copious. We were very nicely welcomed and served, friendly and professional service. The waiters are very attentive to details and on it in a minute if you're missing something. We will come back and we will recommend Angelini Osteria to our friends and clients.
It is an authentic Italian restaurant which has been consistently great for many years. I highly recommend this place for any type of gatherings or meetings. I met clients for dinner and they loved the full experience.
Wonderful meal for our anniversary!
Had a gift certificate given to me 5 years ago on our 40th anniversary. Each time I called they were booked 1-2 weeke in advance. Finally made reservations 2 weeks in advance for our 45th anniversary. While the service was excellent we ordered 1 pasta and 1 branzino , 2 glasses of prosecco and 2 beers and dessert to share with coffee. While the food was good I did not find it to be exceptional . The restaurant was loud and crowded and I felt like I was eating in a central market with all the hustle and different wait staff attending. It did not make for an enjoyable meal.
Best octopus I have ever eaten in my life! The salt crusted bronzino I have never eaten outside of Italy. The grilled figs with gorgonsola were so savory and sweet. We ate at Mozza th next night and Angelini wins.
Simple looking restaruant with wood topped tables. We were glad we arrived a little before 6 PM.
excellent food, excellent service, I 'll definitely will come again.
Even with a confirmed reservation we waited over 40minutes for a table, and about an hour for our entrees. On a Monday! In all fairness, we complained, and were offered appetizers and dessert on the house, but the bottom line is Don't come here if you're time-challenged!
wonderful food. service was great. enjoyed the decor.
Very limited vegetarian options.
Great food but our wine took longer to arrive. The waiter went out the door to the back to go get the wine. What was that about I have no clue. Our meal arrived before our wine. Other than that I still love the food. A little bit pricey tho.
Was expecting a lot from all the hype but the experience and food was very disappointing. We had the Gorgonzola & Pear salad, Lasagna Verde, and Uni Linguine. The most disappointing of them all is the uni pasta. I should've sent this back because it smelled like it had gone bad, but this dinner being my birthday dinner and wanting an untroubled night, I gave it the benefit of the doubt and ate it anyways. This was a mistake because I got sick 5 hours later (with no doubt that it was the uni). Besides serving bad uni, the pasta was flavorless and undercooked. The servers were friendly and attentive, but the seating was very uncomfortable since they cram tables into a tiny space and customers/servers keep bumping into your chair as you eat. I would not recommend this place.
Great restaurant of Los Angeles. Good Pizza, tagliatelle and trofie. Excellent service the waiters were so nice and helpful. The dessert tasty.
Always a wonderful experience with fabulous service and service!
Terrific food and service!
On seating we were quickly brought complimentary small dishes of marinated white fish which was spectacular.
We shared a lobster salad as an entree and i will order this every time I come here.. so fresh and delicious. The Dover sole did not dissapoint, cooked to perfection and served with spinach and mashed potatoes which we substituted for another vegetable dish .
Overall I could not fault the friendly and accomodating service and the sensational food. I have already returned since our first visit 10 days ago and we now plan rob make this very special restaurant one of our regular dining spots.
Pasta was very good. Swordfish, lamb chops, caprese salad just okay. Given the reviews and prices, we were fairly disappointed.
Aside of interesting preparations such as their popular sea urchin pasta, what stands out is the professional staff who are are very friendly and alert to remove empty plates and offer wine.
Makes us eager to return as soon as possible, in spite of being far from home.
Excellent night! Thanks for perfect service and memorable food.
Best Italian in LA feels like you are in Italy
home made pasta is so good also fish
Delicious food, super attentive service and the perfect portions!
The best authentic Italian restaurant in the city. Try the lemon pasta and the octopus salad!
Still the best!
This is our "go-to" destination for birthdays, anniversaries, etc. The drive is always a bit of a schlep, but the food and the staff make us forget the LA traffic. The. Best.
LOVED our lunch at Angelini Osteria! Food was great, service very attentive and the ambience of a small restaurant just lovely!! A great start of my birthday celebrations!
The meals were great tasting yet not as good as compared to the price we paid.
