What Insiders Are Saying
Angelini Osteria is one of the great Italian restaurants of Los Angeles.
By far one of the best Italian restaurants in Los Angeles. The food is always great. The menu changes with the seasons, but the green lasagna and the many pastas, as well as the signature branzino and steak dishes are always worth a trip.
Angelini Osteria is a gem! Between the authentic Italian food, wine list, and servers, you feel like you are eating at a restaurant in Italy. The lasagna is to die for.
I’ve dined there many times and will go back. But this time couple of dishes were disappointing; octopus was too over cooked and Italian sausages were dry. Server charged us for wrong wine which was about $50 more and he blamed other people for it.
This was my fourth visit to Angelini Osteria. And as always it is truly spectacular. I’m Italian and grew up in NYC and this is the best Italian food I’ve had since moving. It’s truly exceptional.
They were a little late at seating us because they were extremely crowded that night but we didn’t have to wait longer than 10 minutes we got there early but we weren’t able to be seated since it was completely full. It’s worth it it’s a great restaurant but it is very noisy if you want to have a conversation you do have to raise your voice and that’s part of the reason it’s noisy and it’s very small if you can snag a table outside and the weather is nice to go for it!!! thanks.🙆♀️
very enjoyable Italian restaurant. Food, service, environment very nice. A bit pricey as you would expect for excellent quality all around.
We love Angelini's and have made it our designated special occasion place. There is so much care that goes into every dish. Waiters are conscientious, with everyone pitching in to fill your wine glass and remove your plates. The place just clips along, well organized, yet your waiter will talk to you about what dishes are popular if your stuck between a few. Which is easy, believe me. For this visit, we had the bone marrow appetizer with little pastas and tender asparagus. To die for. I had the Tagliatelle with lemon and Parmesan Reggiano. The pasta was FRESH. It made all the difference, it was light as a feather and melted in your mouth. Highly recommend! It wasn't a big portion, but just enough to share with my husband. Gino Angelini cooks from his heart and respects his customers. There are few like him who can sustain that for years as he has done.
Sapori , cibo e vino italiano che ogni tanto serve per spezzare la cucina locale!!
An excellent meal. Our table was ready when we reserved it. The branzino is off the charts. The salad fresh and tasty. The wine selection is adequate. We will definitely be coming back.
Best italian food in Los angeles by far i have been to many and the quality and love shows !!
Always superb in so many ways. Do not miss this place
I have had several excellent meals here. Today the noise was truly upsetting, we had a hard time talking to eat other much less hearing what was being said. My veal was dry. It just didn't feel like anything special and the bill was way too high for what we received. Others at my table seemed to have enjoyed themselves more than I.
What a special place to enjoy hyper-delicious food in an energetic environment full of love. The lasagna melts in your mouth. One of us ordered it, and then we ordered another serving for the table to share. The vegetable pizza was light and yummy. Love the thin crust. Service was attentive and fun. We will be back — many, many, many times!!!
The wine pairings were excellent. The food was well prepared but I’m afraid the experience did not live up to the reviews.
Our favorite restaurant in So Cal. Great food, service, and classical dishes.
We've had Angelini Osteria on our list to go to forever! We just got back from Italy (Venice, Florence, Rome & Positano) and were already going through withdrawal so we thought let's go! The restaurant, ambiance, food, service was just like we were back. The servers are Italian and they made great recommendations. The food - bone marrow, branzino, truffle pasta, squid, cassata - and drinks - Brunello di Montalcino by the carafe and Moscato - were all amazing! We will be back for sure as there were more menu items we want to try.
Delicious food, great service!
Under seasoned food overall. Good service, great ambiance. Had higher expectations.
Great beef tartar
Very dry veal Milanese.
Stopped in for lunch asa tourist . Could not believe how exceptional the food was. I would suggest a reservation because this is a tiny gem!
Service was fast and excellent!
Angilini's never disappoints- in fact it is so consistently excellent that we are ruined for all other Italian restaurants across the US. We live in Seattle and visit LA about once a month and always find a way to fit a meal in at Angilini's. Great service, salads- the octopus is over the moon- the pasta's (we have had so many of them too hard to find one that stands out- they all do!!) are amazing, etc. etc.....
I only wish they had a place in Seattle. Glad we get to LA as often as we do.
Our reservations were at 9:30 but we didn’t get seated until about 10:15. The place is small and packed. Everyone’s just waiting around to be seated. Once we got seated, service was great and food was to die for.
Osteria Angelini is simply the best Italian restaurant in Los Angeles
Angelini has lost its magic. The food and service were subpar on our last visit. It took over half an hour after we finished our tiny fig gratin appetizer to get the pastas we ordered. I think the waiter forgot to fire them and had to put the order in as the wrong risotto was brought out. The fig gratin was essentially slide figs with cheese baked on th. The bombolotti amatriciana was nothing special and a bit dry. The risotto mare which was brought out by mistake (we had ordered the risotto bis) had sandy mussels in it. We didn’t correct the waiter as it was already 10:05 pm when the pastas came out and we didn’t want to wait another half hour for the right risotto. We finally were able to leave around 10:30, still hungry and extremely disappointed with our mea. The waiter never checked on us and my water was never refilled. Most egregious was how long it took to get the two simple pasta dishes and that the wrong one came out (the waiter repeated back “risotto bis” when we ordered, so we assumed he had the order correct). Very sad to see the decline in this once glorious restaurant. Not coming back.
Angelini is hands down the best Italian restaurant in Los Angeles. Wonderful food, excellent selection of wines by the glass. The restaurant serves absolutely authentic Italian food, waiters are knowledgeable, helpful. Service is fast and unfailing. The chef-owner is always present and keeps an eagle eye of every aspect of the restaurant.
It felt like an Italian family was taking great care of you. Everything was delicious but the white truffle homemade pasta was to die for. Thank you for a great night out.
Excellent.. restaurant I would highly recoment .. very cozy food is excellent
The service was spectacular and the food delicious.
Excellent pastas. Go for the fresh ones. Homemade Linguini with Uni was excellent. so was their noodles with duck ragu and the lobster sauce. I enjoyed the anchovies. Can beat the place without all hype.
I am a big fan of Angelini, I am from Bologna and they are definitely my favorite Italian Bolognese food place in LA. Great products, great service , authentic Italian and Italians, like being in a top downtown Bologna Restaurant
The best Italian food in LA. Authentic-no garlic bread😂
A veritable feast for the eyes, stomach, and heart.
We hadn't been to this restaurant for years, but had an event on that side of town. I immediately made a reservation. It was just as delicious as ever! We love that restaurant....
Food was undercooked. The only thing that was good was the dessert. Just disappointed. My girlfriend was promised a $50 gift card to make up for her meal. Gift card never came. Shouldn't take over 2 weeks for it to come. No follow up, no nothing. Empty words, broken promises, and more disappointment.
Waited 40 minutes for the food to arrive at our table! The food is ok and it’s not worth the money and wait.
The best Italian restaurant in Los Angeles... Not just a restaurant this place is magic!
Excellent cuisine but it barely fit on the tiny table. Had to interrupt dinner twice in order to stand and move my chair to allow other patrons to exit. Don't particular enjoy being crammed while eating. There are many more comfortable choices nearby. I had not eaten at this establishment for years. Now I remember why not.
Authentic Italian - food, service, ambiance. Amazing, fresh.
The service was great and the food was delicious. We paid $68 for a bottle of wine we didn’t realize we ordered. Their menu is a little tricky and the price list changed from bottle to 500ml carafe in an unobvious way, so we thought we were paying $40 for a bottle. Not a huge deal, but we definitely would not have gotten that wine, had we realized. Similar confusion with the steak tenderloin that came out as rare tartare, instead of a cut of steak cooked medium-rare as ordered. They took the plate back once the confusion was established, though!
Absolutely outstanding Italian Restaurant in Los Angeles, a hidden gem worth trying. A must go everything was delicious and well presented !!
The octopus and branzino was amazing. They have a great wine list. We got the 2012 Cabernet and it was delicious. Would come back for those.
The pizza was soggy- could be left in the over a little longer. Uni pasta was dry and bland. The salami plate was okay- good variety of meats but nothing special.
Amazing, as usual! Best Italian food on the west coast-
