Angelini Osteria is one of the great Italian restaurants of Los Angeles.
Restaurant is small so a bit tight in space. However, everything else is wonderful.
Took some visitors from Hawaii who wanted great pasta. We had the Lasagne Verde, the sea urchin linguine and Potato gnocchi with lobster. All the dishes were superb. Fabio our server was attentive and helpful. However, during the course of the lunch we saw 6 Branzino being served and shared. We decided that would be the dish we shared on our next visit.
Great. But noisy
We were seated right on time with a friendly introduction. Our dishes were excellent and the service was good too. The only complaint was the gentleman seated adjacent to us wearing his hat backwards in the restaurant. This completely lowered the standard of this restaurant. The dress code should be enforced.
La pasta molto buona, anche gli ingredienti italiani. Personale gentile, ci ritornerei.
Very good food, great service. The dishes were a bit on the heavy side for our tastes, but still delicious.
The food was fantastic and the service was great. lunch wasn’t too crowded which was nice.
Angelini is an authentic Italian neighborhood gem with consistently delicious pasta, fish, steak, and wine. Always feel just like family as soon as we enter the front door.of this cozy restaurant. Our family has been coming here for years!
Staff and food were fantastic! My only issue was how crammed the restaurant was with tables. I felt like I was bumping elbows with the guy seated at the table next to ours. And we had to ask them to get up in order to leave our table by the wall. Was still a wonderful evening, though!
We went for lunch, and a part from the irresistible focaccia that starts the meal, we had several Wonderful antipasto dishes, especially the sea urchin linguine, lemon taglioni, artichokes, bone marrow, and octopus. The branzino under salt is excellent, as was the farro salad. Kudos to the chef! And of course we will return often!
Convivial, relaxed atmosphere with excellent service and outstanding fish, meat, pasta dishes, soups, and salads. Always a standout restaurant, with a warm and welcoming manager, Gino, who is also one of the owners. Whether for a casual meal with friends, solo, a business meal, or a special occasion, you can’t go wrong here.
Exceptional food. I will consider myself lucky if I am able to experience this place again.
Incredibly authentic Sicilian servers...best in the city branzino. Most recently, the sea urchin pasta blew us away. There is a reason Angelini's is always on Jonathon Gold's list. When we want something special where we feel at home, this is our place.
The best, the very best. Not pretentious, not fancy, just perfect. Will come back many times. Staff wonderful. Wine recommendations perfect. Couldn't be better. Meal beyond belief.
Everything was delicious and the staff was warm and helpful. Though a luxury dining experience, it wasn't at all pretentious. Really wonderful atmosphere and extensive menu.
Have been many times but we don't live close anymore so had been a few years. It lived up to it's great expectations with the best pasta and authentic Italian food this side of Italy! Bene Bene!
Ordered the fish recommended by waiter and it was fresh and perfectly cooked but not tons of flavour
Terrific food beautifully prepared and served. We love this place and would eat here once a week if we could get a table. The hostess was especially thoughtful.
Food was okay not the best. Very casual. Would not recommend it to a friend
Overall the food was good but the tables and seats were too closely packed together. I barely had enough room to move my arms because the table next to us was so close. Every time the waiters or other people walked by I was afraid that they would run into our tiny table and spill our drinks. I had to constantly move and get up anytime someone had to leave or go to the restroom. That continual disruption completely ruined my dining experience. I was looking forward to dining here because I had waited a long time for a reservation but was disappointed by the service and discomfort of the dining area. This restaurant needs to figure out how to accommodate a limited amount of people so diners don't feel crowded and claustrophobic and can actually enjoy their meals.
I'm always amazed and impressed with the food, service and variety at Angelini Osteria. The food is FABULOUS! The service is PERFECTION! And the variety of seasonal menu items is IMPRESSIVE! This is a hidden gem...you've got to experience this taste of true Italian hospitality.
I felt like I dropped into Italy! The food was spectacular!
We had the black truffle pasta and pizza!
Definitely worth going!
Overall great experience. Loved the branzino. Service can improve, but not bad.
Always an outstanding meal...have been going to Angelini Osteria for years because it is so special.
Exceptional food and service as always! We highly recommend this restaurant.
Angelini Osteria is always absolutely amazing, great food, very authentic, attentive service, the best ingredients used with care to make some of the best Italian food in Los Angeles. This is one of the few restaurants I can always recommend, consistently great in both service and food everytime.
just plain great and consistent!!!!
we have been back so many times when visiting LA and this place never disappoints.
a true must for good food
I've been trying to get a reservation at this restaurant for quite some time. I can tell you it was worth the wait. The octopus salad was amazing. I got the lasagna and my wife got the Branzino which was boned at the table and excellent. The apple tart was also excellent. Service great and we will return. Enjoy!
Gino Angelini brought true and truly great & authentic Italian cuisine to Los Angeles and too many years to count later, he is still the Deacon of Italian cooking in LA and this restaurant still stands tall and above the other 1st rate Italian restaurants in LA. For this 3 hour lunch the 4 of us had 2 wonderful antipasti...grilled calamari; frito misto; 2 terrific pastas including an amazing uni tagliatelle; 4 great mains, whole branzino & Dove sole; veal chop milanese & lamb chops all done with Gino still in the kitchen overseeing the cooking. Combine this with a terrific but compact wine list that runes from great champagne to a host of great Italian whites & reds. As good as it's ever been and it's been great forever. Make your reservation, go and enjoy.
Best northern Italian food in L.A. Like dining in Italy.
Closest thing to feeling like I was back in Italy in Los Angeles. But still with the LA high prices. The food was excellent. I'll be back for more.
This is our very favorite restaurant... because the servers treat us well... because the ingredients are so fresh ( who supplies their dill?)... because it is honestly better than any meal we had in Tuscany.
Best Italian food ! Great service ! Coffee is very good too.
One of the best Italian restaurant in LA. The truffle with handmade spaghetti was excellent.
I frequent Angelini and I have rarely experienced a better Italian meal. Everything on the menu is genius for the pallet and leaves a great dining memory. It's a must!.
Angelini Osteria is a staple! I love that it’s still family owned, which makes the service just that more genuine. It brings me back to when my husband and I honeymooned in Italy. Amazing.
Excellent food - we ordered the swordfish carpaccio and beef tartare for appetizers. We shared the homemade spaghettI Chitarra alla Norcina with a generous amount of black truffles shaved in front of us. Even the complimentary soup and pasta (?) salad were very delicious. Great service too! The servers made us feel welcome. Highly recommend this place.
Wonderful restaurant- exquisite food.
Could do something about acoustics - noise level very very high. But otherwise- fantastic energy.
I had not been in about a year so was excited to take a new co-worker. She had heard about the restaurant, had always wanted to go but need to go with a foodie (me). She had lived in Italy for years and wanted an authentic experience. She got that an more - Awesome
The food is always good, but this was my first time here for a business lunch. The service rushed us so much we wondered if they were trying to turn the table over in time for a second lunch in our place. Given our 12:30pm reservation time there was very little chance of someone else taking our table for a late lunch mid-week. So I'm left not really understanding the fast pace at which the waiters tried to take our order and the speed at which our food was delivered. Pacing is important and at least for this one lunch they lost sight of that fact.
