Enjoyable valentine dinner. Food was very good. Only issue was felt rushed during meal. There didn’t appear to be a line waiting to get in, so didn’t understand why we were being moved along!
Disappointed that with an OpenTable reservation at 1:00-1:30 in the afternoon with other tables open in the main restaurant that we were seated in the bar area. No reason for this.
Woman in the front who greeted us was a firecracker. Awesome lady. Waiter was passionate about his role. Great knowledge of all the plates.
We really enjoyed our meal and the experience in general. The restaurant has a nice bar as you enter, some booths next to the bar and a sunken main dining room just beyond. The kitche is open and is on one side of the dining room. Opposite the kitchen are very tall windows that give the restaurant a very open feeling.
I gave 4 stars on service only because the soup of the day was quoted incorrectly and our particular waiter seemed to have a large table he was waiting on at the same time so we occasionally had to wait to get his attention. He was a very nice waiter and gave us good information about the menu.
I don't recall how much noise there was but I don't think it was excessive.
Two of us had Sea Scallops with Squid Ink Pasta --- it was delicious. Highly recommend it. We will definitely be back. A meal for two adults and two teens with two glasses of wine and two cocktails (for the adults only :-) ) came to just over $200 without a tip. Parking was very easy. You pull into the hotel driveway and leave your car with the valet. Parking was $10.
Great atmosphere with great food, albeit a bit salty. Service is top notch too.
Loved this restaurant! They have done a beautiful job of baffling noise and the decor is well done! Most importantly the food is amazing and service impeccable
Our server (David) was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Our appetizers were great, and I really recommend the whipped ricotta. The Ciopino is very delicious and he scallops are sizable and cooked perfectly. However, my colleague did not enjoy the ribeye, especially for price. A $40 ribeye shouldn’t have a knockoff A1 steak sauce already on top of it. Overall, the ambiance and service elevated the experience!
Once again Angeline's delivered a wonderful dining experience. One of the best wine selections in Uptown area. One of our favorite places to dine.
Been wanting to try this place for so long and I finally got the chance to go with a friend last Friday evening around 5:15pm. We had a reservation for 2 and were the only customers in the restaurant besides 2 others in the bar area. They stuck us right by the kitchen which would usually be fun but all the other tables were open - so dissatisfied with seat because the staff was basically just standing right next to us chatting - felt awkward.
Other disappointing things; low health grade score, dirty wine glass (lipstick), martini was okay(?), featured soup was so bad we didn’t finish even half - salt and pepper at table didn’t help (positive - they removed from the bill without asking), Caesar Salad was swimming in dressing and cheese (croutons were just stale) we had that remade, very bright lighting atmosphere, music too soft (we had to whisper or the entire staff would hear our conversations).
Staff was friendly! But won’t be trying this again.
Best part of the meal was the free appetizer.
Great place! Mussels are the best I've had in Charlotte.
Great convenient place for a quick business lunch in Uptowm
We had a wonderful time at Angeline’s. Everything, from the service and the ambience, to the drinks and the food, was outstanding! Our server, David, was very knowledgeable about the menu and incredibly friendly and helpful! The food was excellent and the ambience was relaxed and beautiful. We had a great time and will definitely be returning!
BEST SERVICE IN ALL OF CHARLOTTE! from the front door, she said "Welcome Mr. L" and it got better from there! food. - wow
service - unbelievably wonderful
Went to Angeline's with some friends to celebrate a birthday. The food, cocktails, and wine were excellent. I had the lamb rigati and tried some of the other dishes, all good. Our waiter had great food and wine recommendations. My only complaint was that the noise level is high.
Girls night out and it was awesome! Food was fantastic and service was perfect! Yummy drinks, appetizers, salads and entrees all around. Didn’t try dessert but looked delicious, will have to save room next time. Our server was helpful and made multiple suggestions that were all appreciated and 100% accurate for what we were looking for!
Took 2 visitors to Angeline's for lunch. The good was great, the service was great, and my guests and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
This was my first time here for brunch and it was great. I've been for dinner and drinks before and couldn't wait to come back. I love Angeline's, the interior is nice and bright, the details in the ceramic dishes are a nice touch, and of course, the food is amazing. The only downfall to our brunch was that the service was very, very slow. We'll definitely be back as it is one of our favorite restaurants.
Salad was excellent. Bolognese pasta dish was so salty that the taste of the sauce was overwhelmed by the salt. When we told our server, he relayed that information to the chef and we were subsequently comped a dessert.
I made a reservation for a friends birthday celebration. When we arrived the hostess was very sweet and she sat us at a hightop table that was in a nice spot away from a lot of the crowd. She stated that she was aware we were there for a birthday and she made mention that they would do something special for the birthday girl. Our waitress was not rude, but she was not very attentive and she seemed bothered when we asked for more dressing and water refills. When one of our dining companions ordered the butterscotch dessert, which he had enjoyed on a previous visit, the waitress literally said, "ewe, that's too sweet". I felt the portions for lunch were small, which was surprising because their dinner portions are quite large, and although some of us ordered the same items, the sizes were very inconsistent. My side beet salad was much bigger than my friends. In the end they didn't acknowledge my friends birthday at all, which is fine as I wasn't expecting them to, but since the hostess had made mention in front of the birthday girl it was a little awkward. I think the food was very tasty, but the experience was less than excellent. I will go back and try for a third time before I make a final judgement.
Perfect For business dinner
Our server was very knowledgeable about all the dishes & wines. Our food was absolutely fabulous!!
Great atmosphere and food. Service was a friendly but not over bearing. On the high end of price for upscale casual but definitely a good experience. I will be back.
I would not have booked this if I had known that it was a hotel restaurant. In fact, we found it hard to find because we didn’t expect it to be inside the Kimpton group’s Tryon Park Hotel. I called the restaurant and got a recorded message and finally asked another restaurant worker where it was. That said, we found the lobby and the restaurant to be v impressive upon entering. Once in, we notice it was moderately full and the hostess came from the back, surprised I had no answer when I rang. We ordered a meat and cheese plate for the table. After delivery, the server was not able to tell us what the two cheeses and three meats were nor did he mention the pickled veg or the fig jam. The chicken soup, Cesar salad, braised beef pasta, and lamb bolognese were all too salty. Everyone loved the cacio n pepe pasta. Dry January hence no one had wine or cocktails so no comment on that. We were visiting and found this restaurant on both Open Table and Charlotte Monthly magazine with great reviews. Must have been an off night.
I was excited to explore their menu, but it was a fixed menu for New Years Eve. Very enjoyable still, but spendy.
Great experience at Angeline’s. My wife and I went there for a date night away from the monsters. We had a reservation and arrived slightly early on a Sunday night. The restaurant was busy, but not packed. The hostess greeted us and sat us right away. Our waiter was knowledgeable and helpful with the menu. The food was fantastic. We had the cheese board appetizer, white pizza (special), and Cioppino. All of it was great. We will definitely return and would recommend this restaurant for a date night or work meeting.
Joined friends for an anniversary dinner. Appetizers/salads were good. Pizza just OK. Friend's seafood dinner was very good. Wine very good but pricey. Would eat there again.
Took the entire family (6 of us) here for a holiday/birthday meal. We had a lovely time. Seemed a tad expensive but then we did not skimp on anything - we had apps, drinks, entrees and dessert. My main concern was the sanitary rating. I am a little squeamish about this and the rating was 90%. I saw no issues myself but this this things are posted for all to see.....But I would recommend this to anyone who was celebrating and did not care about cost.
The food was good. The staff was very knowledgeable about the food and helped a lot.
Party of 3 for Christmas dinner and 2 of the 3 entrees had to be sent back. Very disappointed with the food. Will not return.
Amazing food and fabulous atmosphere. Service was outstanding. Thanks for a great Christmas dinner!
My waiter was Fabulous. Christmas days is not a favorite shift.
I made reservation for Christmas Day brunch. Was so excited as the menu looked amazing. The food was just so so. I ordered banana bread French toast that was supposed to come with a strawberry compote. No compote. Just a few sliced strawberries. The French toast really wasn’t toasted much leaving the banana bread a bit soggy. Flavor was good. My friend ordered eggs Benedict that was supposed to come with a pesto hollandaise. Instead it looked and tasted like regular hollandaise with a few flecks of dried basil and/or parsley. Also the English muffin was very thick and not really toasted nor buttered. Our waiter was sweet but offered us only more coffee and water, not refills on mimosas. There were fruit flies buzzing around our table and they wouldn’t validate our parking ticket. I had heard such great things about the restaurant prior to this visit. Just really disappointed 😔
The food was excellent it just talk a ridiculously long time to get it with no explanation except there was a problem in the kitchen. The manager did comp our bar tab which was around $50.00. We will probably try again since the food was that good.
The hostess is FABULOUS!! Every time I have been all hostesses have been so welcoming, complementary and sweet! The first time they created a birthday card for my guest upon our arrival and then checked on us later in the night and were so kind and funny! The second time I went the hostess seated us and gave us all complementary celebrity look alike and checked on us through the evening. It is the small things but she creates such a special atmosphere with her beautiful spirit!!
The servers have blown me away with their wine knowledge and thoughtfulness in regards to pairing and selections. They have accommodated every whim with grace! Very attentive and create and experience!
The chefs simply just do it right! Showmanship, tricks and trendy elevations aren’t needed here! What they do, they do well. The first time I went the food was great! The second time was better!!
Highly recommend this place for the full experience! What a difference it makes when every single person is top of their game!!
The space is very pretty. And the cocktails (and a mock tail) were simply fabulous. The ricotta appetizer is a must. But the pizza seemed like a pizza you would find anywhere in CLT - definitely nothing special so save your appetite for something else. The grouper entree was very nicely done. Unfortunately the cacio e Pepe was just not good. It was soupy and seemed more like a child’s dish. Also it came in a dish that looked like a guacamole dish. The taste and presentation of this offering needs work. That said, we had a lovely evening but we wanted to be blown away.
The service was above beyond excellent. I loved the ricotta appetizer and the aged ribeye entree. Great wine selection and classic cocktails.
Everything was delightful BUT the $18 for Valet Parking has put a bad taste in our mouths and a question in our heads....Will we go back?????
Great service and food, but a little pricey.
Very accommodating for gluten sensitivity
