Whilst Italian and Japanese cuisines may seem worlds apart, at their core they share very similar values; food is regional, seasonal and created with minimal meddling and the deepest respect. We are passionate about these similarities and look forward to welcoming you with a smile!
Brilliant Italian/Asian fusion restaurant with an amazing tasting menu.
Enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff in a well set out space with a choice of tucked away corners or a central bar surrounding the open plan kitchen.
Great value as well - £100 a head for what is effectively 7 -9 courses, plenty of wines (with some really interesting choices) and a bottle of grappa left on the table at the end!
Will definitely be back.
Interesting concept, good food with a twist between Japanese and italian. Menu changes every 2 weeks. I personally would like more japanese coming out but it was overall good. Nice staffs and ambience too
A great restaurant serving a fantastic set meal with Japanese Italian influences. Very good value and a lovely environment. We'll definitely come back.
Best bang for your buck in East London
Excellent food and impeccable service, out waitress was lovely (a girl from Brazil I think). Would highly recommend
Favorite restaurant in the area, food and service are always amazing! i love it!
Nice food - especially the seabass and the trout.
Got a couple of things on our order wrong, and there seemed to be lots of different waiters attending to us which may have caused the confusion. They were very apologetic however once this was raised with them and provided very nice service (complimentary drink and dish) to make up for it.
The service was great , but the food was very disappointing. The only culinary highlight was a gin beetroot cocktail that was delicious. We got some fried veggies to start , a sashimi with truffle (too overpowering) undercooked pasta , the desert was quiet nice , but then again at £80 per head I’d expect much better.
I had high expectations as I've seen alot of gd reviews but it was a disappointment, the restaurant was about a Japanese / Italian collaboration but clearly the food didn't demonstrated any. There are limited choice of food in the menu - which was fine if they know what they are doing. The Fritto Misto was too greasy with a mouthful of oil - they were trying to do a deep fried tempura stuff of various things but that clearly failed, the other courses e,g. miso aubergine was too salty with too much miso which makes u think that the chef doesn't understand miso ; and then on the italian side, the risotto was a mouthful of confusing flavour again with miso / cream / cheese/ chilli oil ?!?! The pasta dish was just very mediocre too. I think the chef needs to bring his team to try some proper japanese / italian food - in order to know what good is like, afterall their dishes aren't THAT difficult really.
Good sharing menu. Good value for money. Drinks are creative, but not too strong, so a few cocktails are an option. Italian wines good on the list. Service is attentive, but relaxed. Doesn’t accept cash.
Very good food and excellent service. The only thing which we didn’t like was the fact that we had to share a table with other people, we were a group of 4 and we had to share a table with other people whereas a group of two got their own table which had 4 spaces. It was quite loud as well so was a bit difficult to hear each other. I think they should mention it to you before you go there.
Delicious and interesting food - would highly recommend
Excellent menu both the 5 courses and the dish of the day in stunning ambience. The service is also very good, great place for a special occasion or a treat
Wonderful place with relaxing atmosphere, delicious but extraordinary food. We loved the fact that they offer just one menu and wine pairing. The starter plates are particularly fantastic
This is a superb neighbourhood restaurant.
Tasty and interesting dishes and amazing selection of wines, even though the wines specifically where a bit pricey. The atmosphere was great, and the christmas decoration was super nice. Perfect for romantic nights out!
Absolutely brilliant! We throughly enjoyed the tasting menu, the staff were brilliant and had such a great knowledge of the food they were serving us. We will definitely be returning.
Absolutely the best dining experience yet in 19 years of eating locally; incredible service, excellent food. The multitude of sharing plates we started with were fun and delicate yet surprising and sumptuous, especially the chicken and the tempura. Beautifully cooked risotto and succulent pink duck. Even catered for my personal gluten free boringness. Satisfying house wines, flattering yet generous level of lighting and most rare of all: the perfect volume of music and acoustics to be able to chat happily amid all the hubbub. Great atmosphere. Get a table if you can! Went with 6 of my family and everyone agreed it was excellent in every way.
One of my favourite restaurants in the neighbourhood. Love coming back. Always really looked after. And you can’t fault the food!
The restaurant is really nice, I went there for a romantic dinner with my boyfriend and the location was perfect! There’s just the 5 courses option that they change every two weeks and this means high quality. Dishes are all amazing!! I absolutely loved all of them. I also appreciate that the kitchen is right in front of you, so that you can see the chefs working and this also means that everything is always absolutely clean. We are looking forward to have dinner in this restaurant again!!!
Me and my partner had been planning to come there for 4 months and it was so worth it. Everything was simple and delicious but it was also the perfect combination of Italian and Japanese. The tempura was light and beautiful, the meats perfectly cooked, the vegetables wonderfully seasoned, the cocktails paired beautifully with the food we didn’t need anything else! We are planning to come back for certain!
Really nice interior and concept but wasn't quite executed right on the night we visited. The service was bordering on sloppy and food varied from amazing (last 2 courses) to pretty average (first 3 courses).
The service is good but the food within the 5 course menu is not worth the value of 39£. I was expecting something more elaborated and tasty. The experience was disappointing
Absolutely incredible experience and service. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we were looked after as soon as we entered the restaurant. Service wasn't rushed and the waiter had great knowledge of the food and tastings. Would 100% recommend and will go again for another tasting menu!
Enjoyed the food.
Could be some more options available
Italian/Japanese fusion without feeling gimmicky. Attentive service. Chic surroundings. Very good value
Food good value. Drinks a touch expensive. Great ambiance with touches of creativity. Looking forward to seeing where they go
Wonderful food experience.
Amazing wine and cosy ambient
Lovely ambience, incredible food and really good value for money
Great food, lovely atmosphere, excellent service. My new favourite restaurant in Hackney. Can’t wait to go again.
Tasty, creative food with friendly, attentive service. Good wine selection and laid back ambiance.
We originally sat at the counter but moved because the kitchen looked a mess and we didn't feel like looking a pile of dirty dishes while we ate. The food was exceptionally presented so they have the important bit sorted!
Fantastic food. Really enjoyed getting the watch the open kitchen produce an incredible array delicious dishes. Service a little slower than ideal but it was a busy Sat night, and everyone was very friendly. Food really creative and different - we both had the 5-course tasting menu (either that or the daily changing single main dish) and almost everything we tried was faultless. More expensive than the average meal out £39 pp not including drinks - but still good value. We will be back.
Excellent tasting menu available also for vegans and vegetarians. Friendly staff and very good wine list. We sat at counter and the chef kindly introduced each dish. Great ambience and fair price.
The food was delicious, very unique and adventurous. We had the tasting menu with the different wines recommended by the staff. Even if it seems brighter from the pictures on the website, the atmosphere is warm. The staff is very friendly, always being sure we liked the food and giving details of every dish. I will definitely go back and take more friends with me.
The food was exceptional. The starters were just so good. Oysters spectacular, tempura cavolo nero just so good and as for the John Dory main course so delicious. Well done Angelina.
The food was amazing and 10/10, especially enjoyed the first course and the pumpkin dessert. The only niggle was that we were sat on a table next to the window which had a crack in it, so we were really cold throughout the meal and had to ask to be moved when the table next to us left, and had to wait a very long time to get the bill at the end of the meal. Otherwise amazing experience.
As always, excellent. Great wine recommendation. First 2 courses excellent, Monte Bianco excellent, and something I have wanted to try for ages. We will be back soon
Absolutely loved it! The decor and atmosphere were amazing, food was delicious and staff were fantastic and the perfect level of attentive!
Wonderful pasta, wonderful service. Lovely people.
Lovely ambiance and decor. Food lacked finesse but they are still new and finding their right balance of flavours. Ingredients were fresh and service was very good.
