Had a reservation but had to wait 30 minutes for our table.
Only 3 restrooms poorly maintained
Great location, but parking is a little tight. Service was great, very attentive, and food/drinks served promptly. A couple dishes (seafood pot pie) underwhelmed this evening, but had been better on previous visits. Salmon with mango salsa was a big hit. Gotta try Angelica’s Margarita. $500 bill for (9) guests, with apps, drinks, and meals.
As always, Angelica’s delighted! Two friends visiting from Greece and I had dinner in the beautiful back garden area. They were thrilled by the lovely setting. And, we all loved our dinners. Peter, the owner, came over and greeted us and told us a little bit about the garden. As always, it was a wonderful experience!
Worst experience ever! This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, not anymore. Waited over and hour and a half for our food while we watched multiple tables around us who had been seated AFTER us get service. They were paying they’re check and leaving and we still didn’t have entrees. After an obnoxious wait, our food arrived cold. We had asked to see the manager who never came up. I physically had to walk downstairs and demand to speak with her. I can understand having a busy night or being short staffed, but there is no excuse for bad service and complete lack or empathy when your patrons are having a terrible experience. When the manager finally came up after I walked downstairs to get her, she didn’t even offer to have a new entree brought up for the fact that it was cold. She comped the meal (least she could do) but my mother and I literally left without having dinner. After almost 2 hours of sitting there and waiting, never actually got to eat a hot decent meal. Oh and yes, this was my mom’s Mother’s Day dinner...and she didn’t even get to eat. NEVER AGAIN WILL I DINE HERE!
Great food, beautiful set up. Definitely call ahead to get seated outdoors. Service was a bit flakey as we had to request other servers to grab the attention of our server but otherwise a good experience.
The atmosphere outside is really nice, great garden like patio. The food was average and somewhat overpriced.
Easter brunch on the patio was amazing. Would definitely go back.
Great food! Decent price. We had 10 people there for a celebration and all went well.
We celebrated our pre-Easter brunch with our family of 16 here this past weekend. We had a wonderful experience. Our waiter was very helpful and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was very nice and welcoming for families. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy their meal here. We will be returning to check out the live entertainment they have regularly. This is truly a gem and find in Redwood City!
Angelica’s is one of my go to spots for dinner, and happy hour with friends and co-workers. This evening was like most . We sat outside which is always nice. My one complaint was that the server was over attentive. Almost hovering - we felt rushed through our entire meal. Although she was pleasant and efficient it detracted from overall experience.
We went for lunch and enjoyed the Cobb Salad and Club Sandwich. One person from our party had the belgian waffle. Everyone left full and satisfied.
Service is terrific. Great place to take Kids
I enjoyed the salad, but there was a little too much dressing for my wife--should have got dressing on the side. We both enjoyed our entrees a lot. Wife (vegetarian) got the stuffed acorn squash, and I got the seafood pot pie--both were excellent. I want to go back and try the meat pot pie. We both enjoyed our wines, Pinot Grigio for me, and a red for my wife (can't remember which one). Wife enjoyed the creme brulee for desert.
Service was excellent, but quality of food was only fair to poor. The rigatoni pasta itself was good, but the sauce was ordinary, the chicken seemed like nothing more than Trader Joe’s precooked chicken pieces and the Italian sausage had the texture and flavor of a cold hot dog. The Halibut special was only marginally better, overwhelming the delicate fish with a tired tropical salsa. We were really looking forward to this restaurant, but I doubt we will be back any time soon.
Food and service were great! Good breakfast menu, great bloody mary's, the huevos rancheros were awesome!
We had a great brunch. Price was reasonable and service and good were great. We will be going back.
Great scenery outdoor seating. Food was good. Live music at night
This was overall a good experience. Food was excellent. Service great. Friendly staff.
Downside is they served our main course when we weren't halfway through our starters.....a real no-no in my book. This gives the customer the feeling that they are in a hurry to move you out for the next booking. It also allows the food to grow cold whilst you hurriedly finish your starter. Not a relaxing experience. That said, I would recommend this place as a good option.
Great place for lunch or brunch. Come dinner time, if you are not seeing a show, you are escorted upstairs to a dismal room that my husband said looks like a banquet hall in Fresno. No windows, no art work, holes in the wall, stuff splattered on wall. The food was good, but that dining room is totally lacking in the ambiance department. I’m sure this can be avoided by coming during the warmer months when you can sit out back.
Our reservation was not honored and they told us there were no tables. We sat at the bar and ate which was nice enough. But we ordered lobster tail which was cold and tough for $39. The waitress behind the bar did not ever ask us if we wanted another drink. The cocktails here are typically good and the place has potential but I think the service has always been weak.
Overall, we were pleased with Angelica’s. However, even though it was Valentine’s Day, it would have been nice to have the regular menu as an option. On Valentine’s, one is limited to options. Most restaurants choose to do so but it is a disappointment.
I needed to find a place halfway between SF and Santa Clara to meet up with friends. Angelicas was the perfect brunch and meet up place. Beautiful place, yummy food, gorgeous outdoor gardens! Can’t wait for the warmer weather to enjoy the outdoor seating. Plus they have live music. I am really looking forward to returning.
Had an early dinner so it was very quiet. Looking forward to going back when the weather is nice to enjoy the patio and perhaps see a show
Great food and service - Loved the Benedict crepe. Service was great. A place I would like to try in the evening for dinner.
LOVED our waiter Josh! Will go back.
It's a nice neighborhood place. The patio has a much nicer ambiance than the inside room. If you aren't paying for the music, you sit in a room upstairs that is blah, but the upside is you can hear the music playing downstairs. We love the outdoor patio and will wait for warmer days to sit outside. The food is quite good. My husband wasn't particularly impressed with his filet, but I loved my risotto. The brussels sprouts appetizer is delicious.
Hostess took her time seating us while she organized papers. She put us in a room upstairs with only one small window. The server was attentive, but the pasta we both had was mediocre. Great place when you can sit outside but this visit was not great.
Breakfast at noon what a way to start the day.
Outstanding service as always and a great meal before a movie. The food is always hot and fresh.
Eggs cooked to perfection as well as my steak.
As always, the food & service was wonderful. Ramon was excellent and so was Vanessa.
We sat outside on Sunday...the weather cooperated and we were happy. Had a yummy B'Mary and delicious brunch starting off with their fabulous scones.
Enjoyed a nice meal with my niece and great nieces! We all enjoyed the “brunch” menu. There were lots of choices and the food was very good.
Delicious food and great table and the service was excellent.
Yummy, an unexpected great find. Just a little noisy, hard to hold a conversation
Great Food, drinks and. Live entertaining music ! Would recommend any day of the week.
In Redwood City for one night to make early appointments at Stanford the next day and I saw the reviews and ratings for Angelica's were high so I made a reservation which I had to change due to traffic on the freeways. Reservation time change was not a problem and as it turned out they were not very busy on that Thursday night. The entrance to Angelica's was hampered by construction going on next door and if I didn't have directions on my phone I would have missed it. The hallway to the front door was decorated nicely and visually appealing. Live music downstairs was quite loud so we were offered an upstairs room that was much better and we could still hear the band, a Santana cover band that was very good, but at a much more comfortable level. The seating and ambiance were average but the service was impeccable. The wine list was good with many choices. I had the Shrimp Risotto and my wife had the Caesar Salad with Shrimp and we shared a calamari appetizer. The fried calamari was very good and there were deep fried artichoke pieces as well. The tartar and cocktail sauces were probably premade bulk, but tasted okay. My risotto was creamy and moist with peas, deep fried kale and shaved parmesan garnish. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and seasoned, but the risotto was very bland with little or no flavor. My wife's Caesar salad was very typical and a little light on the dressing. Her shrimp were seasoned differently and were equally as good as mine.
I would give Angelica's one more try to see we hit them on an off night, in between chefs or not understanding their specialties and I must repeat with exclaimation that the service was absolutely excellent and we were made to feel like we were the only people in the restaurant.
We’ve eaten here many times for brunch and the food is consistently good. However the last two times we were seated at a table by a window and far away from everyone. So our server never checked up on us. Two orders were mixed up, one beverage was wrong, and we didn’t receive a side dish we requested. All this week plus the absent service made for a stressful meal.
Wonderful owners and very good food. Great for Appetizers, Salads, or a Full meal.
