Great scenery outdoor seating. Food was good. Live music at night
This was overall a good experience. Food was excellent. Service great. Friendly staff.
Downside is they served our main course when we weren't halfway through our starters.....a real no-no in my book. This gives the customer the feeling that they are in a hurry to move you out for the next booking. It also allows the food to grow cold whilst you hurriedly finish your starter. Not a relaxing experience. That said, I would recommend this place as a good option.
Great place for lunch or brunch. Come dinner time, if you are not seeing a show, you are escorted upstairs to a dismal room that my husband said looks like a banquet hall in Fresno. No windows, no art work, holes in the wall, stuff splattered on wall. The food was good, but that dining room is totally lacking in the ambiance department. I’m sure this can be avoided by coming during the warmer months when you can sit out back.
Our reservation was not honored and they told us there were no tables. We sat at the bar and ate which was nice enough. But we ordered lobster tail which was cold and tough for $39. The waitress behind the bar did not ever ask us if we wanted another drink. The cocktails here are typically good and the place has potential but I think the service has always been weak.
Overall, we were pleased with Angelica’s. However, even though it was Valentine’s Day, it would have been nice to have the regular menu as an option. On Valentine’s, one is limited to options. Most restaurants choose to do so but it is a disappointment.
I needed to find a place halfway between SF and Santa Clara to meet up with friends. Angelicas was the perfect brunch and meet up place. Beautiful place, yummy food, gorgeous outdoor gardens! Can’t wait for the warmer weather to enjoy the outdoor seating. Plus they have live music. I am really looking forward to returning.
Had an early dinner so it was very quiet. Looking forward to going back when the weather is nice to enjoy the patio and perhaps see a show
Great food and service - Loved the Benedict crepe. Service was great. A place I would like to try in the evening for dinner.
LOVED our waiter Josh! Will go back.
It's a nice neighborhood place. The patio has a much nicer ambiance than the inside room. If you aren't paying for the music, you sit in a room upstairs that is blah, but the upside is you can hear the music playing downstairs. We love the outdoor patio and will wait for warmer days to sit outside. The food is quite good. My husband wasn't particularly impressed with his filet, but I loved my risotto. The brussels sprouts appetizer is delicious.
Hostess took her time seating us while she organized papers. She put us in a room upstairs with only one small window. The server was attentive, but the pasta we both had was mediocre. Great place when you can sit outside but this visit was not great.
Breakfast at noon what a way to start the day.
Outstanding service as always and a great meal before a movie. The food is always hot and fresh.
Eggs cooked to perfection as well as my steak.
As always, the food & service was wonderful. Ramon was excellent and so was Vanessa.
We sat outside on Sunday...the weather cooperated and we were happy. Had a yummy B'Mary and delicious brunch starting off with their fabulous scones.
Enjoyed a nice meal with my niece and great nieces! We all enjoyed the “brunch” menu. There were lots of choices and the food was very good.
Delicious food and great table and the service was excellent.
Yummy, an unexpected great find. Just a little noisy, hard to hold a conversation
Great Food, drinks and. Live entertaining music ! Would recommend any day of the week.
In Redwood City for one night to make early appointments at Stanford the next day and I saw the reviews and ratings for Angelica's were high so I made a reservation which I had to change due to traffic on the freeways. Reservation time change was not a problem and as it turned out they were not very busy on that Thursday night. The entrance to Angelica's was hampered by construction going on next door and if I didn't have directions on my phone I would have missed it. The hallway to the front door was decorated nicely and visually appealing. Live music downstairs was quite loud so we were offered an upstairs room that was much better and we could still hear the band, a Santana cover band that was very good, but at a much more comfortable level. The seating and ambiance were average but the service was impeccable. The wine list was good with many choices. I had the Shrimp Risotto and my wife had the Caesar Salad with Shrimp and we shared a calamari appetizer. The fried calamari was very good and there were deep fried artichoke pieces as well. The tartar and cocktail sauces were probably premade bulk, but tasted okay. My risotto was creamy and moist with peas, deep fried kale and shaved parmesan garnish. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and seasoned, but the risotto was very bland with little or no flavor. My wife's Caesar salad was very typical and a little light on the dressing. Her shrimp were seasoned differently and were equally as good as mine.
I would give Angelica's one more try to see we hit them on an off night, in between chefs or not understanding their specialties and I must repeat with exclaimation that the service was absolutely excellent and we were made to feel like we were the only people in the restaurant.
We’ve eaten here many times for brunch and the food is consistently good. However the last two times we were seated at a table by a window and far away from everyone. So our server never checked up on us. Two orders were mixed up, one beverage was wrong, and we didn’t receive a side dish we requested. All this week plus the absent service made for a stressful meal.
Wonderful owners and very good food. Great for Appetizers, Salads, or a Full meal.
It was perfect for a reunion of long time friends with multiple hearing losses.
The floor was filthy, the walls were also. The server, Ramon, was nice but not attentive. The water was in dirty glasses with ‘floaters. ‘We ordered coffee, it arrived cold and in scratched cup. The creamer container for the coffee was dirty. The meal was served cold. No syrup for the cold pancakes. This I insisted on being replaced. As we exited, I saw Ramon horsing around with the bartender. I thought to myself, “That’s why everything was so poorly done “. Also, a half a block away, the restaurant was overcrowded....hmmmm. I guess everyone else had already experienced Angelica’s....
The second visit, Food took way to long with no update., till prompted. Overall not a good as the first time. Would go again
Came here for a business lunch with two groups of 10 people. It wasn't crowded and were seated and served quickly. The loud construction noise outside prevented us from enjoying the outdoor seating but decor inside is very nice, bathrooms and restaurant are clean. Good food, service and location. Will be back!
Sadly major construction going on outside. Not noisy but makes the restaurant difficult to see from the street and get to the restaurant. We were literally the only people in the dining room when we were there and it was concerning, but our server "Angela" was amazing. So warm and friendly that we never felt odd. Being the only ones in the restaurant also meant that the food didn't sit waiting to get our servers attention, and it was piping hot and delicious.
I have been going to this restaurant for several years and have had most special-occasion events, including my birthday, celebrated there. It is a family own restaurant (a plus) and the food is terrific. This was the first time I was disappointed with the service. Our waiter was grumpy throughout our interaction; he made a mistake on my order and argued with me about me being wrong. I insisted he looked at the written order and realized that he, in fact, had made a mistake. He apologized but by then I was already annoyed because it also meant eating after everyone had finished.
Angelica's is rarely disappointing - but they stopped making my favorite dish! I'll get over it, they do have lots of delicious choices, and hope that with some encouragement they'll bring it back. The servers have been skillful and knowledgeable, friendly and helpful at every visit. I haven't paid attention to vegetarian dishes, but they have plenty for a pescetarian. The garden is absolutely lovely, really a hidden oasis, and while it's bit noisy just now with construction happening next door it isn't that intrusive. Inside is quite quiet, but it might be different when they have live music. There are several really good restaurants downtown now, and somehow Angelica's is still a bit off the radar. Go enjoy it before it gets discovered!
An Oasis in Redwood City. It was our first time there and then we walked down the courtyard, I was in awe and the beautiful ambiance. I was dining with a friend and immediately thought I need to return with my husband. The food was delicious and the service was very good. Recommend that you sit outback in the back. Will definitely return. Plus they have live music including big bands. Love love love.
Our favorite restaurant
Makes you feel like you are in Tuscany
Food is amazing
Management are wonderful
Highly recommend !!!!
We have been here several times and have returned because of the very good food and service. We much prefer the lovely outdoor patio seating to the somewhat boring (and dark) inside. Unfortunately, there was a large party finishing up on the large patio and we did not have access. We still were seated outside, but in a cramped space in the narrow alley. Food and service were very good again. The bartender seemed to be inexperienced, but tried to be accommodating.
We were celebrating our anniversary and arrived at 7 on a very quiet night. We opted for the outdoor seating in the quieter garden area; very relaxing back these. We ordered wine and an appetizer, the baked brie with toasted macadamia nuts and fruit and fig jam and toasted bread. It was REALLY good. My wife had the pan seared Branzino fillets which she thought was delicious; and I had the Rigatoni Al Forno, which was one of the best pastas I have had in a long time. The Italian sausage in the dish was outstanding. Our waiter Felipe was very good and check to see how we were doing often. We enjoy Angelica's at happy hour as well. It was just the kind of night we were looking for.
We planned dinner here before a concert at The Fox since it was close by. We didn’t know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised! I we shared the Brussels sprout appetizer and the deep fried calamari. Both were very good. For dinner we had the seafood pie and shepherds pie. Both were fantastic! Very rich and filling! We will definitely be going back!!!
Terrific place for Brunch! Excellent food, service & ambiance.. Lovely outdoor patio for dining.
Took an infant and a 100 yr old Grandmother to brunch. Everyone liked it
Good food and service...nice outside garden dining area, too.
Amazing food and beautiful surroundings
The place is lovely, and the menu is pretty large with a good food selection. We had breakfast in the outdoor area where there are lots of beautiful plants. Overall we had a good experience, apart from the fact that our waiter often seemed distracted.
Service is slow, but I love the back courtyard and the ambience!
Lovely patio seating for brunch or any meal. My French toast was yummy and the egg dishes were well prepared and nicely plated. The coffee was very good. We had a great brunch and definitely will return!
