The food was exquisite. From the drinks, bread, appetizers, pizza and dessert we could not of asked for anything better. The meatballs were out of this world! My husbands family is from Italy and his families meatball recipe is tasty but I have to say these meatballs were better. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Prices have increased, portions have decreased. Owners smooze and offer off menu items to select diners.
Meals were okay but nowhere close to exceptional or memorable. The calamari was okay the lemon-based dip used is a mistake.
The menu was unimpressive, only one traditional meal item for the old timers who aren't part of the avant-garde of gastronomic experimentations. The server was quite pleasant and was as efficient as the kitchen would allow, it seems to take them about a half hour to put together a cheese and salami plate. The meatballs in the "alla vodka" had a nice flavor from the beef and pork mixture but were very dry inside.
The "All Italy" Wine List was very heavy into super Tuscans and east coast Valpolicella style wines that were just too heavy and overpowered the food. The staff should immediately decant the wines so they can breathe and let off some of the tannen chalkiness, they seem to rely instead on outsized stemware which didn't help much in that regard. One or two nice Chianti Classico's would help them out a lot!
Other than that they seemed to specialize in sparking wines a lot. Be prepared for sticker shock with the cheapest bottle coming in at $26 ( only 1 at this price) all of the other were $50 or more. I opted for an east coast wine for around $75, really not worth the money even after we asked for a decanter.
Bar drinks looked good but were in thick heavy-bottomed glasses holding 4 oz. or less but are you ready...no Beefeaters gin, and the Irish Coffee, served in a regular coffee cup, was cold by the time it reached the table...WTH!
Unfortunately later that night we were all sick and as we all had had the same supper it seems to go back to one thing.
I see why when we ask people if they have ever been, all they say is "We had the pizza", even our Priest. No one have ever said that it was great pizza, odd but telling when you think about it.
As for the price be prepared for a surprise, I was! I've had similar tabs but for more people at Jacksons and the District. But the shining light was our waitress, oops...sorry my P.C. friends, "our server", who still deserved the 20%+ on the total bill.
Such an amazing place. Just go.
The food and wines are outstanding. The waitress we had not so much. She kept forgetting our orders and when asked she would say sorry and then go get it. Given the bad waitress experience the food was amazing.
Normally great service but this server was unfriendly, unhappy and generally miserable to be around. Lots of “no” and “can’t do that.” I have come to expect more from this restaurant as our experience is typically a lovely one.
Great food and atmosphere
Our server Brian was so awesome! The food and atmosphere were amazing too!
Had a great time! Appetizers - brussell sprouts and beets were delicious! Our sever Mike took great care of us!
Great food and great service! Had the seared scallops dish and the ravioli with truffle cream and it was amazing! Server was very knowledgeable on the menu and wine selection. We will be back!
Rigatoni alla vodka was really bland. Beef tartare was done in an unusual ceviche style, and thick chopped onions overpowered any taste of meat. The taste of the crawfish tortellini was overpowered by the smoked corn. The kids pizza was wood fired and great taste. Service was fine and server MacKenzie was friendly. Ambiance was nice. Would return only for pizza and kids homemade soda.
Food and service excellent. Noise level quite high and that was only drawback.
Amazing...we will be back!!!
Everything was on point and delicious.
Micah waited on us and he was fabulous. Expert wine suggested. Overall great experience. Food was amazing. Husband had stuffed Ravioli.
Sat at the bar with family before dinner reservation. Very relaxing, wonderful staff as well! Diavolo pizza was amazing. Chef’s selection board was a bit much for three people as an appetizer, so I would suggest getting the board to share between two people as a meal. Fresh focaccia was delicious! Wonderful experience!
The staff was amazing! This was my first time dining here and everyone was so friendly and the food was delicious!
Must visit!! Amazing restaurant and amazing service!!! Chef James has a fantastic menu and all the food I have tried is out of this world! I am not one to try new things.
We were sat in a booth in the bar for our 36 wedding anniversary.! Bartender loved throwing bottles in the trash can making a lot noise. McKenzie was a great waitress and the food was excellent. We made the reservations 3 days before for a 5:30 pm time but they seemed not know what to do with us. My wife made a complaint about what happened as we were leaving and Manger did give us a gift certificate for our next visit.
Sat at bar, the restaurant is beautiful. Very nice for an evening out
I had high hopes for our evening after the warm greeting from the front of the house. They were by far the highlight of the evening. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there. Our server was not very kind or helpful most of the evening, preferring to cop an attitude. When I asked about the fish of the day, I was informed the were sold out with no other fish option on the menu, only shellfish. When I placed my drink order, I was informed they were out of a common vodka. When I placed my children's orders, I was told they can have spaghetti or meatballs but not both. So bizarre at an Italian restaurant! I then asked "what do you have tonight and we can choose from there." She became agitated and rude, forcing me to calm her down and deescalate the situation. As a former server, I couldn't believe she was behaving this way. I also cannot believe a vacation destination restaurant would be so poorly equipped at the start of the season. Turns out, they weren't quite so bad off as communicated by surrounding servers. We just drew the unlucky straw. The food was just okay. That may be because we had to settle on items we didn't really want simply because they were the only items available. The server finally got her act together when it came time to hand us the bill. We will not be returning.
To start the staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. The food was expertly cooked and delicious. We had the fried calamari, scallops and crawfish tortellini. Highly recommend.
Food was outstanding. Quick and prompt. Would love to know the secret to the bread as it was light and airy. Wife said 10 out of 10 would do again.
Food was great. Server was pleasant but service to my party of 4 was very poor. Worst experience at this restaurant in 20+ visits. Food and service are usually excellent.
Enjoy the wine pairing option with the tasting menu. Wine selections were wonderful. Need a bit more focus on the servers being able to speak to the wine list.
Everything was absolutely amazing!!
Food, service and dinning environment are excellent.
Ask for Becky, excellent server. Love this place but they need to keep their on line menu up to date.
Calimari was undercooked and fishy. The main dish, lasagna, was so salty it was inedible. How do you mess that up? It tasted canned, like Chef Boy Are Dee. Amazingly, even the Gelato was so salty we could not eat it. What a waste of $125. We will not go back!
We love this restaurant and their consistently wonderful food. Possibly due to COVID and staffing issues everywhere, the service was not up to par for a restaurant of this quality. Timeliness of attention slow with water not being refilled and empty plates and glasses not being removed. Five of us ate last evening and three of our dishes were simply delicious. The other two were very good as well. As far as desserts go the chocolate salami and the house made gelato are our favorites.
Great wine, great food, great atmosphere
Excellent food and wine, personable service, nice (although pretty loud...it was a Friday evening) ambiance, pleasing decor. All in all, a pretty wonderful dining experience. Friends from New Orleans, experienced diners themselves, were very complimentary, too.
Our new "go to" venue for special occasions (but we will be back for more than just special occasions). Highest quality food and service in the Pensacola area. Excellent and reasonably priced wine list. Tiramisu and cappuccino for desert were off the charts. A word on the Antipasto and For the Table: the portions are enough for a table of 4. We ordered both the Wood Fired Olives and Calamari Fritti. Two of us could not finish all of that and still enjoy dinner. We did take a large portion of olives home with us to enjoy later.
We love Tuscany Tuesdays! Pizza and a bottle of wine $25
Pizzas are sooo good! And of course must get a dessert to go
Wonderful staff, great food!! This was our 1st trip, but we now have a new favorite.
I like this restaurant because I have a gluten-free menu. Unfortunately this evening they had no gluten-free pizza no ribeyes no kind of steak that was gluten-free. So I tried chicken with a gluten-free pasta that was absolutely awful. It seems in Florida nobody knows how to cook a gluten-free noodles it’s not that hard. So when you make chicken it should be hot not cold. I was very disappointed in my meal this evening but I will give this restaurant another try in hopes that the gluten-free menu gets better.
Loved everything about our dinner at Angelena’s! And the lemon cello cheesecake was amazing! 😀
The raviolo was bland and the pasta undercooked and overcooked at the same time. Honestly it should be taken off the menu because it’s a horrible representation of Italian food.
Our first time there and won’t be our last! I had the ribeye that was simply amazing and my wife had pesto shrimp and pasta which she said was very good. But everything from the brussel sprout appetizer to the cheesecake was wonderful.
Service was very good and very courteous. Like every other place, they are short handed but they are doing it right.
