Incredible food and service. Everything we had was fantastic.
Steven the bartender is amazing! Fantastic food and service!
The service here is amazing. The renovation under the new name is fantastic. We were celebrating our birthdays, five days apart, and the evening was great. Our server Eli was friendly and welcoming. The kobe steak was delicious. They even gave us a handwritten card for our birthday. Eli brought us a birthday dessert to round out the evening. I would definitely come back just for the service (and the food is good too, lol). Thanks to the staff for a memorable evening.
From the ambiance to the professional attitude of the wait staff to the delicious cuisine...everything was amazing!
We had a overnighted and arrived late and the restaurant was very accommodating. Food was magnificent and our server Eli was knowledgeable and attentive. Highly recommend!
Great cocktails and food
Amazing dinner! Beautiful restaurant, great service and food!
We celebrated an Anniversary and had a lovely weekend staying at the Ritz Carlton in Santa Barbara. We wanted to dine at Angel Oak so we didn't have to drive anywhere and were accommodated with great food and great service. We really liked that our server seemed to have a server/partner who gave us as much attention as our server, carrying on light conversation, making sure our waters and bread were always filled, and our plates removed promptly before the next course. We were given 2 complimentary glasses of champagne to celebrate and were addressed by our last name, which is always the types of touches we appreciate when we are visiting a high end resort. A few things I will note is that I did ask for a table with a view and instead was seated in a side room at the front of the restaurant, so we didn't get to see the entire restaurant, which would have been nice. However, I could have asked for a different table, but I didn't. Also, when our entree's were delivered everything came out separately, which we thought was odd. Meaning our steaks were delivered, then they went back and came back with the sides, then they went back and came back with the sauces. It would have been preferred to have everything served at once, so we didn't have to wait while our steaks were getting cold. Just constructive criticism. These things did not take away from a wonderful evening. We highly recommend Angel Oak.
Just a delicious an delightful restaurant to visit everyone very polite an helpful
We enjoyed a quiet dinner on the evening of Super Bowl Sunday. The staff were attentive and friendly, service was prompt. The parmesan bread with pepper/honey butter was different but tasty. My husband had the bone in ribeye and I ordered salmon, complemented by sides of asparagus and twice baked potatoes. All the food was delicious, though my husband didn’t think his steak justified a $70 a la carte price. We were too full to try anything from the dessert menu. Overall a nice evening.
My partner and I had an outstanding experience at the Angel Oak Restaurant at the Bacara. It was my first experience and my partner’s first time back in many years. We live in Santa Barbara and to be honest we don’t think of the Bacara when we are considering eating.
Well, the Angel Oak was recently recommended and we were able to get a reservation on very short notice so we booked a table. To say it exceeded our expectations would be an understatement. The dining experience was one of the best we’ve had in a long time...and we’ve eaten at some very fine restaurants. We shared the Bison Rib Eye and it was absolutely delicious, juicy, tasty and cooked to perfection (med rare). We ordered the peppercorn sauce which enhanced the taste of the bison without overpowering it. The carrots were cooked in a special way and were also very tasty. We had the lemon tart for dessert which was creatively deconstructed and likewise delicious. Our serve team, headed by Elsa, was clearly professionally trained and competent and displayed a very warm and ‘anxious to please’ attitude. The serving team that supported Elsa, was well informed and very attentive without hovering. The Angel Oak restaurant had a warm and attractive atmosphere which was very quiet and we didn’t have to share our space or attention with slobbering personal dogs sitting 'too close' begging for food. Bottom line: the Angel Oak Restaurant far exceeded our expectations and after tonight’s experience, it will go to the top of our our ‘special occasion’ restaurant list. Thank you!
Beautiful restaurant with excellent service. Food is good, but not up to Ritz Carlton Standards.
Had group of 10 which they accomodated well. Excellent drinks
We had an absolutely fabulous dinner. We came for our anniversary, and we wish we could come every time we had a date night. It is a lovely atmosphere, the service is excellent and the food is delicious. And yes it’s a little costly but worth every penny. Every person in the staff treated us is that we were the only people in the dining room.
Chef Trevor is masterful. Super attentive and professional staff. A lovely evening
Great food! I definitely will be coming back again and trying out other cocktails with my friends.
Great New York Strip Steak
Be sure and ask for reserve wine list
Food overall was tasteless...........specifically the filet, asparagus and halibut.......not worth the “fancy” prices!
Elsa is a great server
Celebrated my 62nd birthday with my wife. We enjoyed our meal and experience and will visit again.
Dinner was okay. Hangar steak was excellent, as was the asparagus salad. The tater tots were underwhelming (needed to be just a tad crispy to be worthy). The California Lookout was disappointing after hearing how fabulous the mixologist is supposed to be. The apple cobbler was presented to us in a rather unenthusiastic way. The restaurant was very noisy after a large party was seated next to us. Would recommend Angel Oak, but would note that it's not five stars.
The hostesses were very welcoming and attentive. We were able to get a table although we were early. The ambiance is very serene, and the noise level low. The only issue we had was that they were out of the wine we chose, but did have an extensive list so finding another was not a problem.
We had the best time. Great food and great service. It was our first time at Angel Oak and we’ll definitely come back.
Great experience from start to finish! Service and food were exceptional.
Expensive, but very good overall. Shrimp appetizer wonderful. Crab cakes very good too. I had the abalone pasta. Thought the abalone a bit tough. Spouse had halibut, which was excellent.
We were greeted by very friendly staff. Hostess and the wait staff was kind and provided awesome service. Food was amazing. We had seafood tower, split a arugula salad, split a New York steak and molten cake desert. It was for my birthday and they brought us complementary glass of champagne. Very nice touch. Well worth the price.
Loved it ; went there for our 1st Anne now for our 18th
Overall great food and wonderful service! We love this restaurant so we are kinda bias!
5 star all the way from cocktails through dinner, it is located at the Ritz Carlton so it speaks for itself!
The food was too salty! The Halibut was dry! I know the resort is in transition, but for the high prices, the food should be delicious! We were very disappointed!
Fantastic setting overlooking the ocean, especially at sunset. Service was very attentive and they took note of our anniversary. Not inexpensive however the Hotel is now a Ritz Carlton. We are locals and not hotel guests. The restaurant decor features dark wood and hip contemporary design. Can’t beat the location. Excellent dining experience.
Waited 25 minutes after meals were finished to See waiter again. Went for wife’s birthday, other than the hostess the server never knowledged. Even out 10 and 12 year old daughters commented on the slowness of the service and the disappointment in how the evening ended.
Lovely patio atmosphere (except for the idiots on their speaker phone). Good service - but not the top level one might come to expect with linens and well-seasoned service. This is a gracious but green staff. Nonetheless it was a pleasant evening.
The restaurant is located at the Bacara hotel. It is very large and well decorated. The service was great and the staff was very attentive.
We ordered the Caesar salad, shrimp cocktail and French onion soup as starters. The soup and shrimp cocktail were very good. Not being a steak house (without high temp searing oven), the bone in ribeye was well seasoned and very flavorful. The abalone dish was just okay. For dessert we had the bake Alaska and the banana split. We highly recommend the bake Alaska. The presentation and the taste were both excellent.
I haven't had abalone for years. It was always breaded and fried. The meal I got was very good. The abalone was sweet and tender (and not breaded fried). The portion was just right. The pasta and sauces complimented the main course. The desert was excellent. Unless you aren't full after dinner split the desert. It would have been a lot for one person. I will definitely go back.
This place is amazing, amazing, amazing! The food is wonderful, the service is excellent and the drinks are great. We had such a great time here. Everyone was accommodating and really made the night special. This place could break the bank if you're not prepared so you've been warned ahead of time. But well worth every single penny.
Good food. Nice selection but needs more two person sitting near windows. For awhile my wife and I felf forgotten. It took awhile for someone to come over to see how were our selection and to our taste.
This is NOT as it is advertised. A dinner for 12 turned out to be 2 and a half hours long. The ambiance and scenery is top notch, but that's all.
Food wise, we were unimpressed... especially for this Michelin star chef. The French Onion Soup is the sweetest I've ever tasted. It was terrible. The steaks weren't cooked even close to requested temperature. My filet which was supposed to be medium was rare. My sister's bone in filet was well done (supposed to be medium). My grandfather's carrots were destroyed (black and burned). No top notch restaurant should struggle with temperature... and no top notch hotel should allow this to happen. Further, even the drinks were bad. My husband ordered a mixed drink to be prepared table side. They were "out" of what was required to make it.
All in all, there is NO excuse for the nonsense that is Angel Oak or the resort that allows it to happen.
All awesome, except desert.
Ordered an $80 18 oz. steak for two medium rare, and it was well done, inedible. Took quite a while for a replacement steak. Overall the steak was not up to par for a top steak house. Service was very good and servers were very apologetic for the error.
