Angel Oak at The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara
Accompanying the cuisine is an ambiance of pure scenic beauty, with floor-to-ceiling ocean views and a striking 25-seat bar topped with vibrant blue Amazonite quartz. Seating on the outdoor patio is also offered, showcasing some of the most captivating sunsets over the Pacific.
Complementing the Angel Oak dining experience is a premier cocktail program and exclusive wine cellar that houses the restaurant's 12,000-bottle collection.
The waiter was very uptight making the evening uncomfortable. Everything else was great.
Service was excellent but the food was only so-so. When servers wiped down the table, they just brushed crumbs onto the floor. The abalone special was hyped up to be amazing and it was just ok.
The patio is much quieter than the restaurant inside. Service was excellent. Food was good but not the best you’ll ever have.
Fantastic restaurant overall!
We ate here 2 nights in a row.
Delicious food. Staff is very accommodating to dietary restrictions. Great service, great view. Dinner was spectacular and brunch was equally fantastic
Amazing food and service. We had a wonderful time
Our evening at the Angel Oak was outstanding from start to finish. From the valet to the lovely young woman who greeted us in the lobby of the Bacara and escorted us to the Angel Oak, we knew this was going to be a lovely experience. We were early to our reservation time so we sat at the bar and had a nice chat with the bartender who mixed me a great Kir Royale! Everyone from our server, Elsa to Spencer who brought out our food and the busser who always made sure our table was clean, we couldn't have had a better experience. Our meal was mouth-watering, flavorful and worth every penny and the beautiful view from our table only added to the experience. We were there to celebrate our 38th Anniversary and we left with a lovely card and a white rose from the staff. Thanks to all for making our special day so memorable! Bill and Linda
Everything was absolutely delicious.
From the service to the view to the food everything was spectacular. Waitstaff, hostess, Maitre D, all took the time to know our names and everyone (including waitstaff that was not ours) wished us a happy anniversary. The brussel sprouts were the best I have ever had. Can’t recommend this enough.
Very expensive but we knew that going in. When you assess the value for the meal it was not there. We dined at other restaurants where we enjoyed more.
We went here for a 20th anniversary and timed it perfectly with the sunset. The staff was amazing brought us white roses to celebrate and was very patient with us as we went out to the bluff to take pictures by the sunset. The food and the service was absolutely fantastic and I would highly recommend this to anyone especially for a special occasion. We had filet mignon asparagus and the risotto which all tasted incredible. For dessert we had the profiterole and the chocolate and ice cream was very memorable and delicious.
The staff, under the direction of the general manager Dillon, was very attentive but not overbearing. The sommelier, Richard, was extremely helpful at selecting a versatile wine that paired nicely with both seafood and steak. Lastly, the Steak was prepared just right and was nicely seasoned and the chilled seafood was very fresh.
Great service!! I would definitely going back in my next vacation again
Just so attentive making you feel special. Food excellent.
Hostess was slightly rude, but other than that great place!
Great setting. Great service. Great food. Great big bill!!!
Great service and excellent food! Definitely get the house specialty!
We arrived on time for our reservation and inspire of many open tables we were asked to wait. After waiting 10 minutes we were escorted to a table in the middle of a traffic area. We proceeded to wait another 15-20 minuted and finally had to ask for water, waited another 15 minutes before we asked someone (not our server) to please take our order. The service was absolutely terrible!!! This horrible service continued throughout the entire evening. Our server came to our table as we were eating our salads to introduce herself and we didn't see her again until we were finished with our dinner and asked about dessert. Very disappointing service.
The food was world class and to top it off, our waiter Eli elevated the experience to the next level. His attentiveness and knowledge of the menu was incredible. Can’t wait to come back again!!
Gorgeous restaurant; excellent service; great setting.
The perfectly prepared abalone made for a memorable meal. Could not have been a better dinner with wonderful service.
Angel Oak is a beautiful setting. The service is great, almost to the point of over doing it. The food is good but not excellent and if you are paying 70.00 dollars for a steak it should be excellent.
It was our anniversary and we were sat at an amazing table. The food was amazing and the service couldn’t have been better. Afterwards we received a tour of the 12k bottle wine cellar.
While the ambiance was great, our server was less than enthused to serve us. The food was good, but not worth the cost. I've truly had better steak at several other steakhouses. We ordered the crab cake to share and it had a terrible flavor. Five of us tried it, all agreeing it was quite awful. The buerre blanc was sour and the crab itself had little to no seasoning. The sweet potatoes on top were fried beyond recognition. We were away for a fun weekend and had meals out at several locations in Santa Barbara and this was our least favorite.
Excellent service and amazing food & wine!
We changed our 8:15 to 5:45. Service was off the hook! Our server was fantastic. I have the young man $100 tip. His recommendation was fantastic. Service was spot on both Friday and Saturday night actually. The flllet was off the chart good. The bar didn’t have a problem going off the menu for Cadillac Margaritas. If you need a place to take your wife and make her feel like Royalty this is the place!
A memorable occasion, that included a Valentine's Day menu comprised of seven courses.
Excellent ambiance, service and cuisine.
This is the fine dining spot at the Ritz in Santa Barbara. Wonderful service and food. The wedge is amazing and the filet was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend if you’re in the area or staying at the resort.
If you want a lovely view and great service, this is the place to be. If you are interested in a great meal...not so much. Stayed at The Bacara for two nights. Our group of 4 decided eat at the fine dining restaurant on both nights. On the first night, 3 of us had sea bass. None of the pieces were cooked through and all had to be sent back. One of the pieces still wasn't cooked through after they brought our dinners back 10 minutes later, so the waiter removed the charge for that dinner, even though the other two of us had had a very haphazard experience and the fish wasn't that good. Our fourth person had the abalone that the waiter had boasted about, it was just ok, not that great. Next night, we all decided to have steak because of our bad fish experiences. Some of the steaks were good, not the best ever, but good. My piece was dry, leathery and not flavorful, for $52. My husband ordered the same cut of meat as mine, his was pretty good. I didn't complain because of the fuss the night before, but it was a very lackluster and extremely expensive dinner. So, I recommend the place because it is beautiful, service was good and very convenient when staying at the hotel. I suppose we'll go back when staying there again, because of the convenience. Hopefully they will bring in the first string in the kitchen, because we certainly did not experience that during this stay at the hotel.
Looks like staff not trained well.. they were Cleanning table when we were still eating appetizers and having our drinks before main entrees.... took our bread basket (?!) my unfinished cocktail, seafood tower with crab legs still in it... then also forgot to bring a side dish to our steaks- mashed potatoes. Bizzare. Total bill was $700 and I still gave $100 tip , don’t know why
It was fine. Sea Bass was undercooked for all 3 of us but the waiter tried really hard to fix things. They recooked the entire plate and it was good. Wouldn’t say anything we ordered was great but we enjoyed eating there so will return.
The service with Elsa was fantastic! She was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient.
Food was perfectly prepared and delicious.
Took ten minutes to get a drink. The appetizers showed up before the drinks. Was my bday and goinG here as often as I do I was shocked they don’t give you some sort of dessert as a bday gift. They were notified it was my bday dinner. I’ll take my money else where.
Great food, great atmosphere and fun staff!
Great service from Clayton! Felt well taken care of by him and Manager Michael Brand. Ordered a few bottles of wine, all served at the perfect temperature and in Riedel glasses! Food was exceptional! Had the wagyu tataki (basically thin slices of steak plated like sushi) & bison ribeye a very unique, but flavorful cut. Highly recommended!
Everyone was excellent. A perfect evening.
We were looking forward to Angel Oak, but were sadly disappointed. Unfortunately, everything we got had truffle oil, which I didn't expect. I am not a truffle oil fan so that put a damper on dinner, from the apps to the steak and the side, there was truffle oil everywhere. I only ate a 1/4 of my food.
Charging 8.00 per the slice of birthday cake is extremely petty and I have never experienced such nonsense anywhere that I have celebrated or been involved in a party
Twice baker potatoes need a re-think. Dry, smoky, not luxurious.
Caesar lovely with the little gems and white anchovies.
Will go back.
