Angel Oak at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara
Accompanying the cuisine is an ambiance of pure scenic beauty, with floor-to-ceiling ocean views and a striking 25-seat bar topped with vibrant blue Amazonite quartz. Seating on the outdoor patio is also offered, showcasing some of the most captivating sunsets over the Pacific.
Complementing the Angel Oak dining experience is a premier cocktail program and exclusive wine cellar that houses the restaurant's 12,000-bottle collection.
Amazing place on an amazing property, can’t wait to go back.
Worth the drive. Excellent menu, well prepared, stellar service.
Excellent food and service
Food is excellent- service impeccable. I love going to Angel Oak. I celebrated my birthday with the Baked Alaska
We were staying at the resort and decided to try the restaurant instead of driving into downtown Santa Barbara
Pleasantly surprised at the excellent quality of food ( we had vegetarian food), great cocktails and selection of wine by the glass.
As expected the ambiance and service was outstanding!
Highly recommend this restaurant.
Disappointed, it was bad decision to go there for dinner.
We went to this restaurant two nights in a row. There were different waiters each night and they were both excellent. We had two boys with us and they had great food for the kids and no problems with the staff. The Wagyu steak is to die for. It's phenomenal. Highly recommended if you are staying at the Ritz-Carlton or anywhere near by.
The filet mignon and the ribeye were excellent as well.
Delicious food in a comfortable, calm atmosphere. Excellent service
This place is a real gem; outstanding food, service ambiance, and amazing wine list, the whole deal.
Reservation for 7:30 PM ... seated at 8:10 PM. Nothing more that I need to add!
Loved our dinner so much that we went back the next night! Everything we had was outstanding. The wine list is a little limited, but the sommelier was very helpful in finding something we'd like. The staff is amazing! Many restaurants leave the server to fend for themselves, but the host, sommelier and bus staff were also on top of things. And don't say no to the bread basket- they even have gluten free brioche!
Need booth for noise level inside, Excellent food, delious gluteen Free bread! Creative menu. Quality dining.
Disappointing. I dined there 2 nights in a row. Food was not good either time. Chilean Seabass was nicely done, but man...everything else was hard to love. Abalone was way overcooked--tough. Pasta was flavorless--butter basically. Filet wasn't good great. Octopus was such a disappointment with some weird Romesco sauce. Brussel Sprouts were WAY oxersauced with the balsamic--couldn't taste the vegetable! Meh. We took an Uber into the local town for dinner the next night and it was WAY better. Too pricy and nice of a property to not be WOWED by the food!
Took my wife out to celebrate our anniversary. Location and ambiance was perfect. We enjoyed the window view and table location. Daniel, our waiter did a phenomenal job and recommended the perfect items for us. We will definitely be back and bring some friends to enjoy the experience.
We arrived about 8 minutes prior to our reservation and the hostess was going to seat us outside which is what we wanted. As we were about to leave for the table selected on the screen, another employee came up and told the hostess no don't seat them there. She kind of pulled her aside and said somehting to the hostess didn't speak to us. The Hostess then told us that she needed to wait 10 minutes before seating us to space the tables that were in the servers area we were going to sit. That was fine with us and she led us over to a common area to wait. The wait turned into a little over 22 minutes, which in itself was not that much of a bother. They seated others in the same area with the same server while we waited, that was the part that bothered us. During the 22 minutes that we waited, the sun set and we didn't get to see it from the table we were expecting. The server we had and many others staff members were very polite and pleasant. The steak was excellent and the broccoli was very good. The twice baked potato however was to salty and much to much truffle flavor. With the exception of the seating issue, the place is slightly underwhelming for the price point. We had dinner at Bouchon the night before and found it to be a better experience for a similar price.
An incredible restaurant with outstanding food, wine and service! We have been here two times now and everything is delicious, fresh and expertly prepared. Definitely a must if in the area!
Server was inexperienced and lacked rudimentary knowledge of specials of day. Nervous demeanor. Would have expected a more experienced server at signature restaurant of resort. Disappointing. Food was very good
Great food and wonderful service. A true culinary delight!
Angel Oak was an experience, Sarah was able to get me a table for two- literally 10 minuets before closing. .I’ve dreamed of having dinner here and it was no disappointment. From the local farms to your dinner plate every bit of my salad was infused with freshness! Seriously the most amazing night!!! Jenn was our server and provided the best service, had wonderful recommendations which included grilled avocado with my salad. TOO DIE FOR!! My husband enjoyed a juicy steak as we glaze upon the evening stars and even some Hollywood Stars! Angel Oak please thank the Chef, Sarah, and Jenn from the bottom of my heart you made my 5th anniversary unforgettable.
Outstanding service and sommelier. You must get the baked Alaska for dessert!
The abalone was dry and over cooked. The famous la plancha octupus was not it was made out to be. Leave the resort. Go fine better food somewhere else.
Wonderful view and fantastic resort.but the food is less than ok.....have a drink in the bar and Uber to Santa Barbara’s great restaurants
THIS is what fine dining should be. The next time we are anywhere near Santa Barbara, we'll return to Angel Oak, without a doubt.
* Promptly seated, a bit before our reservation with a view of the water on the patio.
* Top flight wine list and both the server and sommelier (Richard) knew well. Good thing I brought my own juice or I'd still be perusing it!
* Speaking of servers, Daniel was engaging, personable, knowledgeable and seemed to be a genuinely nice guy.
* From bread to wagyu beef to rack of lamb to sprout sides and a killer chocolate dessert, every course rocked. Appropriate portions and the pacing was perfect.
Mmmm, good. Thanks to all at Angel Oak!
First time at this resort and restaurant. The roasted bone marrow appetizer was delicious and to my surprise my wife was daring enough to try it and actually enjoyed it. We ordered the Bison Rib Eye and 10oz Filet, both were properly cooked as requested and went well with the mushroom side dish; next time I'll skip the mashed potatoes - nothing special there. The service was excellent. The food and beverages here are pricey but not a surprise coming from a restaurant within The Ritz-Carlton resort. I would definitely return for any future special occasion to try some of the other appetizers and main courses.
Coming from New York, and particularly an area that is loaded with steak houses, Angel Oak was a 10 in my book! The bartender/mixologist had a great way with making drinks and had me taste a drink before pouring me a full one. The food came out exactly as we ordered and each dish was more delicious than the next. I had the Bison Sirloin which was our of this world, cooked to perfection. If back in Santa Barbara, we will definitely return to Angel Oak.
The food was sensational. Really beautiful restaurant as well. Highly recommended
Best restaurant in the area, with knowledgeable servers. Every time I’m in Santa Barbara, I make a reservation at this terrific restaurant. Eat outside and make a reservation before sundown. So beautiful!
Not impressed. Nothing more to say. Shocked this is operated at a Ritz-Carlton.
The Alaskan halibut was a bit dry and bland.
Our server was very good
Love this restaurant.Have been here a couple of time and the food is great.Highly recommened.
Requested outdoor seating weeks in advance but told we would have to wait 15 extra minutes to sit outside despite open tables. Wait staff excellent. View probably would have been better outside. Food mediocre: scallops and ny steak. Drink menu online not the same in restaurant. Outrageously priced; not worth it.
Very sexy atmosphere, even as you approach the entrance. The background music reinforces the sexy vibe. The view outside is simply outstanding. We started with the seafood tower which, how can you go wrong with? My boyfriend and I each had a steak - I had the filet and he had the NY strip. Both of them were cooked to perfection! Service was attentive and professional but not overbearing. I proposed to my boyfriend here! Beautiful place.
We loved the fantastic ocean view on the patio, foods are outstanding. We plan on going back soon.
Exceptional food and service
Ordered a bottle of $180 wine which I got to taste - it was then taken away - when we received our main course I asked for it to be served and the wine waiter was no where to be found so ended up having a glass of house wine - We stayed at the Four Seasons - everything about the hotel is in a different league to the Ritz Carlton - poor - avoid
The food was absolutly fabulous. Presentation beautiful. The service was impeccable. The wine list was varied and had several local wines. The view was amazing. We went for my husband's birthday and everyone were came in contact with greeted us by name and wished him happy birthday. I would recommend this restaurant for any special event or date night.
This place is top notch - best grass fed fillet I’ve had for a long time, cooked to perfection. Only drawbacks are the price and hotel guests with tottlers screaming at dinner after 8pm. This is a fine dining environment, but some guests think it appropriate to bring kids and show up in t-shirts.
Disappointed with seating. Requested outdoor seating at another side of the restaurant and was unaware of not getting my request met until getting to the restaurant.
Spectacular in every respect - service, food, ambiance.
Disappointing, comparing Mastro’s and there really is zero comparison. Nice view of ocean but food not
