Angel Oak at The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara
Accompanying the cuisine is an ambiance of pure scenic beauty, with floor-to-ceiling ocean views and a striking 25-seat bar topped with vibrant blue Amazonite quartz. Seating on the outdoor patio is also offered, showcasing some of the most captivating sunsets over the Pacific.
Complementing the Angel Oak dining experience is a premier cocktail program and exclusive wine cellar that houses the restaurant's 12,000-bottle collection.
It was our anniversary and we were sat at an amazing table. The food was amazing and the service couldn’t have been better. Afterwards we received a tour of the 12k bottle wine cellar.
While the ambiance was great, our server was less than enthused to serve us. The food was good, but not worth the cost. I've truly had better steak at several other steakhouses. We ordered the crab cake to share and it had a terrible flavor. Five of us tried it, all agreeing it was quite awful. The buerre blanc was sour and the crab itself had little to no seasoning. The sweet potatoes on top were fried beyond recognition. We were away for a fun weekend and had meals out at several locations in Santa Barbara and this was our least favorite.
Excellent service and amazing food & wine!
We changed our 8:15 to 5:45. Service was off the hook! Our server was fantastic. I have the young man $100 tip. His recommendation was fantastic. Service was spot on both Friday and Saturday night actually. The flllet was off the chart good. The bar didn’t have a problem going off the menu for Cadillac Margaritas. If you need a place to take your wife and make her feel like Royalty this is the place!
This is the fine dining spot at the Ritz in Santa Barbara. Wonderful service and food. The wedge is amazing and the filet was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend if you’re in the area or staying at the resort.
If you want a lovely view and great service, this is the place to be. If you are interested in a great meal...not so much. Stayed at The Bacara for two nights. Our group of 4 decided eat at the fine dining restaurant on both nights. On the first night, 3 of us had sea bass. None of the pieces were cooked through and all had to be sent back. One of the pieces still wasn't cooked through after they brought our dinners back 10 minutes later, so the waiter removed the charge for that dinner, even though the other two of us had had a very haphazard experience and the fish wasn't that good. Our fourth person had the abalone that the waiter had boasted about, it was just ok, not that great. Next night, we all decided to have steak because of our bad fish experiences. Some of the steaks were good, not the best ever, but good. My piece was dry, leathery and not flavorful, for $52. My husband ordered the same cut of meat as mine, his was pretty good. I didn't complain because of the fuss the night before, but it was a very lackluster and extremely expensive dinner. So, I recommend the place because it is beautiful, service was good and very convenient when staying at the hotel. I suppose we'll go back when staying there again, because of the convenience. Hopefully they will bring in the first string in the kitchen, because we certainly did not experience that during this stay at the hotel.
Looks like staff not trained well.. they were Cleanning table when we were still eating appetizers and having our drinks before main entrees.... took our bread basket (?!) my unfinished cocktail, seafood tower with crab legs still in it... then also forgot to bring a side dish to our steaks- mashed potatoes. Bizzare. Total bill was $700 and I still gave $100 tip , don’t know why
It was fine. Sea Bass was undercooked for all 3 of us but the waiter tried really hard to fix things. They recooked the entire plate and it was good. Wouldn’t say anything we ordered was great but we enjoyed eating there so will return.
The service with Elsa was fantastic! She was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient.
Food was perfectly prepared and delicious.
Took ten minutes to get a drink. The appetizers showed up before the drinks. Was my bday and goinG here as often as I do I was shocked they don’t give you some sort of dessert as a bday gift. They were notified it was my bday dinner. I’ll take my money else where.
Great food, great atmosphere and fun staff!
Great service from Clayton! Felt well taken care of by him and Manager Michael Brand. Ordered a few bottles of wine, all served at the perfect temperature and in Riedel glasses! Food was exceptional! Had the wagyu tataki (basically thin slices of steak plated like sushi) & bison ribeye a very unique, but flavorful cut. Highly recommended!
Everyone was excellent. A perfect evening.
We were looking forward to Angel Oak, but were sadly disappointed. Unfortunately, everything we got had truffle oil, which I didn't expect. I am not a truffle oil fan so that put a damper on dinner, from the apps to the steak and the side, there was truffle oil everywhere. I only ate a 1/4 of my food.
Charging 8.00 per the slice of birthday cake is extremely petty and I have never experienced such nonsense anywhere that I have celebrated or been involved in a party
Twice baker potatoes need a re-think. Dry, smoky, not luxurious.
Caesar lovely with the little gems and white anchovies.
Will go back.
Totally unacceptable for R-C brand. R-C, check in on your employees! You can do better and WE deserve better! Horrible experience from start to finish!
We came here as our last night for dinner on our honeymoon. We were treated so well and everyone was so welcoming and genuinely seemed happy that we were there to celebrate. The staff always made sure we were happy, the food was outstanding, and the atmosphere was exceptional. We are so glad we chose to eat at Angel Oak and cannot wait to come back one day!
They try hard and do well . Excellent steak.
Great in all ways.
My husband and I had dinner here for our anniversary. It was wonderful. We had a window seat with ocean view and sunset. We were given a complementary glass of champagne before dinner. Food was incredible! We had the dry aged new york steak. Yum! All the food was delicious. Our server was very attentive and friendly. We will go back!
We had the best time. The total experience was incredible! Thank you!
The food was delicious and the service was fantastic
The food was poor catering food at best and ridiculously expensive for the quality, the room was unimpressive.
Great night for Christmas Dinner. Simply Perfect. Thanks Clayton and The Sommelier.
Japanese Waygu was wonderful. Daniel the server was fabulous. Good wine list. Nice evening.
Perfect, perfect, perfect. Loved everything about our experience at Angel Oak.
Tried the roasted bone marrow appetizer and Abalone (signature dish) for dinner. Husband had dry aged New York steak. Mashed potatoes and cauliflower for sides. Closed out with Profiterole for dessert. Everything was so yummy!
Beautiful ocean view and elegant ambience-food is authentic and creative. The lobster bisque was so fresh and flavorful with a hint of curry. Our server Eli was pleasant and poured our wine attentively. My husband and I went for dinner the Friday night before Christmas and it was quiet and the hotel was beautifully decorated with festive ornaments and lighting.
Place was excellent! Will definitely go back. If you are into mushrooms please order them! AMAZING!!!
Extremely disappointing. Caesar salad was simply bad worst dressing I’ve had in a long while. Mushroom risotto was dreadful clearly not freshly made with crucified burnt kale on top. Evening ruined by screaming women in a party in adjacent room to bar. Sadly there is little good to say about the meal. Our server was attentive and pleasant.
Amazing place on an amazing property, can’t wait to go back.
Worth the drive. Excellent menu, well prepared, stellar service.
Excellent food and service
Food is excellent- service impeccable. I love going to Angel Oak. I celebrated my birthday with the Baked Alaska
We were staying at the resort and decided to try the restaurant instead of driving into downtown Santa Barbara
Pleasantly surprised at the excellent quality of food ( we had vegetarian food), great cocktails and selection of wine by the glass.
As expected the ambiance and service was outstanding!
Highly recommend this restaurant.
Disappointed, it was bad decision to go there for dinner.
We went to this restaurant two nights in a row. There were different waiters each night and they were both excellent. We had two boys with us and they had great food for the kids and no problems with the staff. The Wagyu steak is to die for. It's phenomenal. Highly recommended if you are staying at the Ritz-Carlton or anywhere near by.
The filet mignon and the ribeye were excellent as well.
Delicious food in a comfortable, calm atmosphere. Excellent service
This place is a real gem; outstanding food, service ambiance, and amazing wine list, the whole deal.
Reservation for 7:30 PM ... seated at 8:10 PM. Nothing more that I need to add!
